Terrible. He removed the part of the step that is above ground and then covered up the rest with dirt so that I would not see that the work was not complete. I paid him and then went out a few days later to put a shrub in the place where the step was and found out he had left all the concrete in place that was underground. He was very unclear about when or how long he would be at the house so I had a hard time being there to check on things. When I got home he wanted to know what I was going to do with that space and I said I would put a shrub there. He then knew that I would find out that he had only done a portion of the work. I ended up with an area that I can do nothing with. No plant can go in there as the concrete covers the entire area. Looks like I need to hire someone else to finish up the job and take away the concrete as this company refuses to finish the work.
