Great job. When a new drive way was put in the lip of the cement was under the edge of the brick work along the garage. The frost pushed the cement which in turn pushed the brick work away from the house and off of the garage area. They fixed the problem using the same bricks. This was great because the bricks are 50 plus years old and not able to be matched. Will use them again in the spring to repair some brick steps in back.

I had literally consulted with about 10 companies that address moisture issues in basements but Pat was the only one who had a fix which was to correct the integrity of the block by patching the exterior and interior AND draintiling the area. I had quotes of $1600.00 JUST to put block in place to close off the room but not really addressing the moisture issue. I am glad that I finally found Pat and only wish I had consulted his company earlier. During the process a piece of the front stair broke off which he anticipated given the existing condition of the area. He patched it and recoated the entire front stairway and landing so it looked new! I can not say enough good things about his company! If you have a well room he is definately the person to hire.

I decided to hire Pat to redo my fireplace. It had a black lustrous tile that didn't match the color scheme of my home. I also have a downstairs brick fireplace and wanted a similar look. Pat directed me to a few stone providers and also was very transparent with his quote. Others would not break out material costs so it made it hard to really know how much more you would have to pay based on your choice of stone. Anyway, after picking out the stone, I changed the order to include a mantle. Pat requited the job and the work was done in 2 days time which he estimated. The fireplace looks great and they were very conscientious about clean up. The bill came in at the quoted level and there were no issues. I would highly recommend Pat - he is at times tough to get a hold of because he is in high demand. But he always got back to me and was very easy to work with.

The end result is absolutely beautiful! The stone fireplace is the visual centerpiece of our new basement family room.
The craftsmanship of Pat and his helper was excellent. And Pat was extremely helpful. He came over on very short notice on a Friday to scope out the project and prepare a quote. We were fortunate that he had a break in another project so he could fit us right in. He started work the following Monday, left the scratch coat to cure/dry on Tuesday, and finished all the stone on Wednesday.
We were trying to decide exactly what we wanted for a mantel when the project started. Pat had some suggestions, and when we had narrowed it down to a 6x6 rustic barn beam, he made a special trip over to our house to show pictures of some options for corbels (mantel supports) to my wife on Tuesday. I had just gone out to buy the pieces of stone for the corbels at noon Tuesday, and when Pat heard that, he sketched out the details of how I could mount them on some iron straps Tuesday night, in time for the epoxy to cure before he mounted them on the fireplace Wednesday.
The stone corbels weren't part of the original quote, and since we were so late deciding what we wanted to do, it could have really delayed the project. If we had planned things out further in advance, Pat could have mounted the straps, too. But I thought it was great that he was willing to explain in detail how I could prep the corbels to be ready for him to install them, so the project could still finish on time. We were kind of under the gun, since the carpet layers were coming on Friday.

After getting multiple bids for hardscaping we chose Everlast Masonry based on their bid and the owner, Pat Holappa's, confidence and apparent knowledge level. Pat steered us away from making some mistakes that other contractors had suggested as cost saving measures, but he did not charge more to do the work correctly. He was also very patient when we ran into delays with our city inspection department, and worked with the city to help with the resolution. We had an excellent experience with all of the men who work for Everlast Masonry. They are knowledgable, respectful, friendly and hard working.

He is incredibly knowledgeable about his trade. He knew both the science and the theory of the way the fireplace works. He is very knowledgeable about masonry.

After I called Pat, he came out a week later to survey my concrete needs. He provided a verbal estimate, and promised to fit me in at the end of the season. His proposed solution for the crumbling foundation was better than the other two people I'd talked to, and his price was about half what they had suggested! A week later, some cement bags and bricks showed up in my driveway. A few days later, I found him working away on the projects, and within a day, all the materials were cleaned up and the job was done. He emailed an invoice later.
