Good. Ran out of time to our Patio & Garage Apron ** We plan to use them again ! Very friendly and easy to work with.
We hope they will have time to come back and do more work this Spring.
Todd and Lisa were professional, helpful, and punctual. To minimize the number of payments from my construction loan, they also allowed me to postpone the initial payment of the basement, until the garage and porch were completed as well. Although I wasn't a big builder, they never made me feel any different. They arrived when I needed, and completed the work as promised. Since I was not only the contractor, but also the home owner, my expectations could not have been higher.
As for the work, it was completed professionally, and exceeded my expectations. The concrete still looks beautiful. I also added a drain to my garage, and they needed to slope the concrete to the drain, and never charged me any additional fee. I also put in-floor heat in my basement, and no additional charge was accessed for this as well. I also noticed they only charged for actual concrete poured. Other quotes, calculated the square footage of the basement from the outside walls (like builder may charge), but TLS only charged for the exact concrete poured, inside the basement walls. This is the way it should be, and honest! Todd the owner was always on site, working with his crew, making sure things were done up to the standards of the family owned company.
This was also the first home I contracted, and Lisa and Todd were very helpful in answering any and all questions I had. It is a family run business, and the fact that they made it though the building downturn says a lot about their business. Some subscribers here may ask themselves why aren't there more reviews? Well, here's what I've learned from building my own home. A lot of the really good sub-contractors do not need Angie's List to get a lot of business. Their business comes from word of mouth, repeat business, and/or being tied to contractors and builders. So many of my sub-contractors were referrals, and I only found three of them here on Angie's List.
I have referred TLC Custom Concrete to coworkers and family, but I feel a review here is another way to thank them for the work they provided.
His price was not the cheapest (very close) but I trusted Todd as he listened and asked me questions.
Worked started as promised and was completed the following day. His employees removed the original blacktop, graded and compacted the existing Class 5, and installed the forms. Before pouring I was asked to inspect the forms to see if I liked the way they were layed out.
During the pour re-bars were added, about 4' apart both ways in addition to a fibreglass reinforced 4000# concrete mix. Todd the TLS owner was on site and working with his crew 95% of the time.
The following day a TLS employee came out to cut control joints in the concrete. Before he started he asked for my opinion on his plan for the cutting design. We agreed on a pattern which turned out very straight and symetrical. The following day the saw cutter returned and applied a concrete sealer to the entire driveway.
This spring following an abnormally mild winter, I experienced no cracks or flaking. The driveway looks great!
I would highly recommend TLS Custom Concrete be considered for any concrete work. I have already contacted TLS regarding a garage/shed slab.
