Everything generally went very good. The first two weeks of the project tremendous progress was made. There was a "bit of a lull" in progress once most of the work was done waiting for one of the sub-contractors to schedule their part of the project but this was understandable given the fact that our contractor did not have direct control over the sub-contractor. Nevertheless, the work was performed very satisfactory by the sub-contractor once they arrived to do the work.

We hired Chad Ricksham and his company,
KraftMasters Restoration LLC from Elk River, to update our house.
The project included all new windows and vinyl siding on the house
and on two garages plus cultured stone trim and new entry and patio
doors on the house. Work began in mid November 2014 and was mostly
completed in early December. Due to unusually cold weather, the
stone work is yet unfinished (as of early February 2015) but I am
confident that it will be done as carefully as all the rest when
weather permits. KraftMasters stained the new windows and did a
superb job of matching the existing woodwork ? far better then I
dared hope.
They did excellent work everywhere and
paid great attention to detail ? in some cases doing extra work
just because it would look better. They replaced door stops on
garage doors just because they were old and somewhat beat up. Chad
charged me only a minimal amount for the material and donated the
labor. Smaller things they just did without charge. The attached
garage had two old ?well used? service doors which I had not
planned to replace until Chad offered to install new ones free if I
would provide the doors. He would even have picked up the new doors
for me if I had needed that.
When working inside the house they were
exceptionally clean. They always laid down tarps to work on and kept
a vacuum close by to clean up. Everything outside was always picked
up and neat as well. They walked around the house numerous times
with magnets to pick up nails.
On a few occasions when my wife and I
both had errands to run we were quite comfortable leaving the house
open for them to work. We had ? and still have ? no question
about their honesty and integrity. I am exceptionally pleased with
their work and would not hesitate to hire Chad and KraftMasters
again.

The ceiling is two-tone, high-quality knockdown which looks awesome.  It is flat, but has a look of having depth.  I was very happy with this, as I didn't originally know what to expect.
The concrete apron on my driveway has several slopes to ensure water drainage is not a problem.  The apron still looks like new.  Kraftmasters even went through the effort of adding extra rebar into the footings, and into the adjacent garage.  It is built to last.

The work resulted in a very well constructed cabin shell.  The advice, workmanship, and quality of the work were excellent.  It's been 5 years since it's been built.  What I was most impressed with was the additional effort put into making the foundation footing and framework extra stout.  Based on building frame models, the material was not required to be as thick as KraftMasters installed.  After installation, I used some local contractors up in the area it was built (Brainerd area), and I've asked KraftMasters for advice several times.  It is clear that KraftMasters is focused on the highest quality work.  Based on the advice, I've known what to expect, and what to ask when getting work done.  If I were building a home, I would definitely use them as the contractor, since there is such a wealth of knowledge with regard to all aspects of home construction, with a high emphasis on quality.  I can't say enough.  I was very happy with KraftMaster's work.

My experience was top-notch.  I had met with several insurance adjusters with no success.  Even though my nearest neighbors had damage, my insurance company wouldn't budge.  The first time an adjuster met with KraftMasters, I had a claim being processed.  My roofing and siding were replaced, along with several items I hadn't thought of.  KraftMasters fixed all the damage on my children's swingset, mailbox, furnace venting, and window screens.  My experience was great and I highly recommend KraftMasters.  The workmanship is excellent!

Chad was here when the insurance adjuster arrived (on a Sunday for the adjuster's convenience). When the adjuster tried to say his company would only pay for a partial roof replacement, Chad was able to show them that partial roof replacement on other homes in our neighborhood (there was a previous hail storm a few years earlier) left the roof with a "patched" look and that there was enough damage on additional parts of the roof to justify replacing the whole roof. Although the adjuster disagreed, the insurance company agreed to replace the whole roof after Chad wrote them a letter explaining his inspection.

The insurance company also only wanted to pay to have the two damaged sides of our home re-sided. The particular siding our home had was discontinued and the company that made it had gone out of business. Chad was able to get the siding supplier to verify that this siding was no longer available and there was no comparable match in terms of color or type to the existing siding. The insurance company agreed to pay for re-siding the whole house after they were made aware of this by Chad.

All of the work was done in a craftsman-like manner and they were very good about clean-up of debris on a daily basis.
