Although Jason did good work in certain areas of the house, the quality was inconsistent throughout tasks. Examples of this are: - He installed new cabinets and the place allotted for the fridge was more for a built-in fridge instead of a standard fridge. So that this standard fridge could fit, he shaved one side of the cabinets without consulting us. We replaced the fridge and he was willing to fix the cabinet at an extra cost. - His dry wall team did not do a good job and we had to ask him to call the people to fix the problem. We were promised paint-ready walls, and we are still fixing walls before we can paint. - Wood flooring is not leveled in some areas and it bulges in the kitchen area. - The electrician that he brought did not solve some issues, such as the electrical connection to main circuit breaker for hot tub, and electrician-provided dimmer switches for incandescent lighting instead of LED as we had discussed with Jason. Additionally, electrician was not able to figure out connections to outdoor lights by garage, which we did in part. We are rating him low on punctuality because he went over the estimated deadline by a month and a half--leaving us with extra rent and bills to pay. We are rating him low on professionalism because he lacks project management skills, and he got upset with us because we were requesting an updated quote before continuing with the payments. When reviewing the final quote, we even alerted him about not including an installation he did for us, and the quote was updated with the added amount. We will not be calling him to do any work--or fix any of his mistakes. And if you decide to hire JLC because the price is convenient, make sure you have a contract with a deadline and very specific details about what happens if deadline or quality is not met.
