Ellingson Repair

A friend of my husband's recommended Jamey Ellingson as he had done repairs for her. Probably because of this, we ignored a lot of warning signs. When he came to do the estimate in the spring of 2011, he was charming in an "aw shucks" kind of way; he went on at length about how his wife was in the military and overseas, how his children were doing, how he was extremely honest and never took mark ups on parts, how his family had been in the plumbing business for a long time, and how he was listed in Angie's List (which I now find isn't true). However, when we hired him, he repeatedly made excuses about why he could not start the work when it was scheduled (toothache, not feeling well, parts not in). When he finally did come, he did the work relatively quickly but claimed some parts weren't in We were naive enough to believe his promise that he would be back as soon as the parts came so we paid him in full. Needless to say, that was the last we saw of him. Calls and e-mails eiher were responded to with promises to check with the supplier and call the next day (never happened) or just ignored. In my final e-mail to him at the end of September, I told him how dissatisfied I was and asked for a call or e-mail. It's now the end of November and we haven't heard from him. As for the work, the shower head leaks and he cross threaded a part on the water purifier so that we'll have to have another plumber come in the correct it so the filter can be replaced. We really got taken by Ellingson Repair.
