We chose Hage to replace our concrete steps because we thought they would be a trustworthy company. Mike Hage told us he wasn‘t sure they would get to our project before winter but we could put a 10% deposit down ($595) to hold the price for next year. In retrospect, that should have been a red flag because every other contractor we talked to wouldn’t take any money until they showed up to do the job. We ended up changing our plans before Hage even scheduled our project— still telling us they might not get to it until next year. We asked for our deposit back and he said no, essentially because in a document they sent us (but not the contract we signed) it stated that deposits are nonrefundable. We asked if he would please consider a partial refund, as I can understand the time it took to give us the estimate (even though those are free). He replied saying that our $595 deposit doesn’t even begin to cover the work their office does “printing photos, making job packets, and purchasing the permit.” I asked if any of that work had even been done considering our job wasn’t even going to be done until next year. He replied saying, “I am your salesman not the owner or your scapegoat. Please direct any further inquiries to the office directly as I have no knowledge of what has or has not been done-which makes no difference anyway.” Shocked by this rude and inconsiderate response. No accountability from Mike Hage of Hage Concrete. Hope this review prevents someone else from getting swindled.

"Hello Ali, I apologize for any negative experience you have had with our sales team. I strive for great customer service and never want make our clients feel disrespected or unimportant in any way, so I am sorry that we did. Like many contractors, we require [Member Name Removed] deposit to lock in [Member Name Removed] position in our schedule and lock in any current pricing. When we are booking into the next season we require [Member Name Removed] 10% deposit rather than [Member Name Removed] 50% deposit since it is often times [Member Name Removed] long wait. When we receive [Member Name Removed] signed contract and deposit we block off [Member Name Removed] portion of our schedule for that project, whether it's 3 days or three weeks. This helps us determine how far booked out we are, so we can be up front with our clients about when we will get to their project. As stated on our specificaiton sheet provided with your esimtate, In the event you cancel, for any reason, we will retain 10% of the contract price and refund the balance to you. This allows us to keep our schedule on track for our existing clients and aquire new clients. The deposits also helps pay for administrative work for our sales team, production team, and permits when needed. Our sales team is not authorized to issue full refunds which is why Mike sugested you reach out to the office to discuss. I did not see any further communication to our office, and unfortunately was not able to disucss with you and come up with [Member Name Removed] fair resolution prior to this review. This is one of the worst contractors we've ever worked with. They do poor work, don't build to code, and have deceptive pricing. I would strongly encourage you not to hire them. We hired them to remove a retaining wall and replace our steps and sidewalk. The new sidewalk looks awful, way worse than the old one they replaced. They also didn't remove all of the old wall, and they didn't fix the grade of the hill, which they said they would. My wife and I spent most of the weekend after they left fixing the grade, removing the rest of the wall, and raking up all the little pieces of concrete they left. My neighbor also caught them throwing garbage bags in a dumpster he had in his driveway. And they also didn't replace the railings on the steps (which are required by code). They didn't tell me they weren't going to replace them until after all the work was done, and even then only after I asked them twice. So I didn't have a chance to keep the old ones (they had already taken them away). I probably wouldn't have hired them in the first place if I knew the cost of the railings wasn't in their bid. But, that was probably their goal, to make the bid look lower than it was.

The evidence of a company's integrity is defined on how a problem is solved. We had a minor issue. The company called back the same day and resolved the issue within 2 days. Everyone on the crew was very professional and they company was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent high quality work. Prompt and professional customer service. Only complaint is they embedded an ugly black marble plaque with the company logo on the bottom stair. When I complained they sent someone over the next day to remove it.

This company does outstanding concrete work. This is the second time I have hired them. After putting in the front walk last year, they installed a back walk this year. They are a delight to work with. Jason Hage is professional, helpful, knowledgeable and responsive. I have gotten many complements on the quality of their work. The sidewalks are really beautiful and I would certainly hire this company again.

Excellent job of matching and repairing the block and stone and stucco to the original of our Tutor style house. We hired Hage 12 years ago for our entry stairs and again for this repair. Highly recommended. They are very pro and easy to communicate with.

I can't say enough good things about the company. The quality of their work is outstanding, their customer service is outstanding, I am over the top pleased with my new side walk. Dan who over saw the work is a true artist. Jason Hage was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this company for any concrete work. I will rate them as a B on pricing because the price was higher than other quotes that I received but the extra cost was well worth it.

2 day project completed on time. Had to hand dig removal of grass for patio and jack hammer old side walk and remove before pour new cement. Clean up on both days was good and on time. Employee's were very polite and informed us as to what was going to be done on each day. I used them a couple of yrs ago to do some side walk replacement and to replace wooden steps to all concrete steps and platform into house and was satisfied with their work. It was exactly as I explained I wanted to accomplish.
Wide steps and sidewalk to slant so water doesn't pool during rain or snow melts. All was done to my specifications with their input also.

Very Well. They provided pictures to clarify exactly what would be removed and replaced. Answered all questions and were quick to respond to calls. They even did some work without charge after we discovered we had not included it in the contract. The sidewalks now look beautiful.

They exceeded all my expectations with this work. The subtle slope of the walk in various areas was ingenious to prevent drainage issues. The quality of the concrete is the best I have ever seen. I heartily endorse Hage Concrete and I have hired them for my next project.
