My mother states Kevin Coates and his crew were real professionals and kept working the whole day and never stopped.   They started when they said they would and completed it in the same day.  Highly recommended.  I saw the completed work and I agree with her completely.  Very well done.

Excellent. Kevin and his son are great. It was a troublesome roof because of a connection to the old roof. He came back several times to get it right and I trust that if issues pop up, he will come back to make it right.

Kevin Coates responded to our phone call within 24 hours and came to the house the next day. The work was done to our satisfaction.

The contractor showed up earlier than I expected and finished the job before I could get home to meet him. The job site was left in good shape. (I could not tell he had been there; the state of the house and yard was just as I left it in the morning.) The contractor discussed with me on the phone what he found and what he did. He was the fourth contractor I sent up on the roof to stop the leak: time will tell if he succeeded where others have failed.

Easy breezy. They came out and finished within two days and came back the following week with the inspector.

A friend of mine recommended Coates Roofing when I ended up needing to get an estimate on re-shingling my roof this past fall due to storm damage. Kevin was great. He came over, wrote down meticulous notes and measurements and worked well with our insurance adjuster. He was always available to answer questions when we called, which was great as we were out of town at the time they re-shingled the roof.
I would happily refer Coates Roofing to anyone that needs to replace their roof.

We live in a 1 1/2 story 1920 house that had a metal ridge vent. I had a leak that basically stained my tile ceiling in the upstairs bedroom. I tried to figure out where it came from and tried to seal it myself but had no luck.
We called one company in - I don't remember who, and it was a nightmare. He basically ripped us off. He didn't do an estimate of services, went on the roof, hammered a few nails in then charged us for it. Didn't fix the leak.
Because of this bad experience (and a different roof leak that failed to be fixed properly by a different contractor) I came into this project pretty nervous about who would do the work. I talked to a few contractors and settled on Coates.
The team was great. Courteous, professional, patient with questions. They were OK with letting me get on the roof with them to talk to them about what they were doing.
They removed the existing vent, removed shingles, installed boards, ice and water barrier and reroofed with a new ridge vent.
The leak is gone. I'm very happy with the work and would recommend them to anyone.

Immediately came for estimate. The quote came 3 days later. Responsive to phone calls. Skilled and friendly work crew. Worked on schedule. Detailed clean-up of yard plus magnet for nails. They weren't the lowest price but I would use them again. Couldn't ask for more.

I have had them out several times to do different smaller jobs. They are great, super professional and totally on time. They are really great to work with. Those guys are really reasonable and can do a lot of things that other bigger roofing companies will not do. I will use them again in the future.

They were great. They were very efficient with the work, clean and neat. They did good work. I had them on another job about 5 years ago and it's still in place; so I am fine. It took them quite a while to get to the job.

We had bad ice dams over the winter primarily in one location. I'm sure we could have gotten the entire roof replaced but the rest of the roof was fine. The bill was exactly on estimate, the work was done on time. When we asked the owner, Kevin, to come back and do a little more caulking he did so promptly and happily. We had the work inspected and the inspection passed. The roof looks better than when we bought the house.

Punctuality is not their specialty but the price was low and the job done.

They were really good and the price was reasonable. They did what they said they would do It was a good job.

They did exactly what they sad they were going to do for the price they said they were going to do it. They were friendly and they picked up after themselves and it looked like they used local workers which I personally appreciated. They basically did whatever needed to be done. I had an issue inside the house a couple of years ago and he spent 45 minutes with me on the issue.

The owner's name is Kevin Coates and he was excellent. We found that the tops on the plumbing stacks had a problem and the water was getting into the roof. I was pleased that he came out and repaired it because most of the roofing companies don't do this kind of small work.

This company did excellent work. They are detail oriented and do a good job of cleaning up after themselves. They do difficult, out of the ordinary roofing jobs. They are reasonably priced. It does take a while to get them scheduled for the work but once that is accomplished, they are very good at getting there and doing it.

Kevin is very prompt, cautious and professional. From the estimate to the end of the job Kevin knew I needed it done right. The 3 man team started in the morning and finished in 4 hrs. and hauled away the debris. Now my leak is fixed! Very good price.

Roof was leaking water around chimney into our crawl space. Received 4 bids. All said roof had been improperly installed by previous owner. 3 roofing companies strongly recommended total roof replacement. Coates said roof would last 5 years and repair was only necessary. Out of concern that we did need a new roof we hired a home inspector, who concluded that the roof would last another 5 years and needed the repairs listed under "work performed". Satisfied we did not need a new roof we went with Coates who was the only one honest enough to say we only needed a repair. The reason for the B ratings is that Kevin told us he would fix our roof on a particular date a couple of times and did not make it. We would then call and ask when he was going to get to our roof. He explained he was having difficulty because he lost his best worker.

We had three other roofers bid on our roof. When I asked Kevin for a price for tearing off all the fascia and replacing it, he looked at me like I was nuts to want to spend the money. I loved that he was so cautious with our money. I told him another roofer said we needed to tear off all the roofing boards. Another ''you don't need to spend that much money'' look from Kevin who said he would replace what was rotting and leave what was perfectly fine. (Our ''new'' house was built in 1914 so we had no idea what to expect.) The bid was the middle bid but not too far off of the lowest. I really trusted Kevin and knew we weren't going to get ripped off . When they did the job, they kept the place tidy (it was over Thanksgiving and we had guests), and all the workers were friendly. Kevin just returned to use a magnet to pick up stray nails and used a rake to pick up roofing debris (there wasn't much.) He actually raked leaves off our lawn and paths near the house! KEVIN WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND SHARED SOME OF HIS PERSONAL LIFE WITH US. HE PUT MY WIFE AT EASE AS WELL. HE HAS A SMALL CREW THAT DOES VERY GOOD WORK AND THEY WERE FRIENDLY AS WELL. HE WAS MORE THAN WILLING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS WORK AND THE WORK OF OTHERS. THEY ALSO CLEANED UP WELL. KEVIN DID NOT ALWAYS RESPOND QUICKLY TO TELEPHONE CALLS AND HIS CREW DID NOT WORK SET HOURS. THE WORK WAS DONE DURING A PRETTY RAINY STRETCH IN MAY.
