Kate Cullen is a dream to work with.  I knew what I wanted but she had some really good insight and ideas when she came out to measure.  Installer was punctual, professional, and neat (cleaned up everything afterwards)!  I have used California Closets for 6 different closets and have been extremely happy every time.  I love the product and that they stand behind it.

Excellent experience. Kate (the designer) did a very thorough job of looking at our closets and the contents and of talking with me about what we wanted/needed for a new system of hanging space, shelves, and drawers. The installation specialist (Brady) was very courteous and professional and, everything looked perfect when he was finished. We got more than our money's worth with this project because we took advantage of a promotion that CA Closets had in January: 40% off the total price of an installation. Based on our experience, even at full price, California Closets is very much worth the cost.

They were fabulous. They came a month in advance, took the measurement, spent time with me, and talked about the best way to get the storage done. They were a little expensive, I new they would be, but I didn't care because I wanted my closets to be nice, and it was worth the price. It came with a life time guarantee, so if anything goes wrong, I just have to call them and they will come out within a day and fix it at no extra charge. It could have been cheaper if I had hired a handyman, but the work that they did was of high quality and it was worth it. They took all old the stuff out and put the new stuff in, cleaned, vacummed, and finished the work in one day. I spent about $2000, but it was worth it.

We worked with a designer who contacted us directly and came to our home for a consultation. She interviewed us extensively to see what we had in mind for storage then took inventory of all that was going to be stored in our closet. She put everything into her computer, including measurements and layout, taking into consideration if we were left handed or right handed. She produced a three dimensional image for us and then we did some small adjustments from there. A fixed price was quoted at that time. She was very insightful and followed everything we had to say, right down to the placement of belt holders.

I called the California Closet local store, and they set up an appointment for us to meet with one of their designers in our home on a Saturday morning. Since this is a new house, but we hadn't moved yet, they suggested that we measure the closet capacity in our old home to figure out what would fit into the new closet. Adrienne arrived at the new house promptly, looked at the closet, took measurements, and talked with us about what elements were important to us (hanging space, space for shoes, space for folded clothes); this was important because the new closet space is slightly less than the old spaces combined. She showed us photos of the different possibilities (with crown molding and baseboard, or without, with full backs, or without, etc.), and then sat down with her computer and worked out some possible designs, which she reviewed with us. She had great suggestions for what would and would not work given the size of the closet and what we wanted to fit into it. She also provided a design for some bathroom cabinets, although we did not purchase those due to the expense ($1600 for the 2). We did decide right then to proceed with the closet, and she collected information for the 50% deposit. She also emailed the closet plan pictures to us, and I made a change (added doors), and she then emailed the updated pictures. She told us that we would need to remove the existing closet fixtures and baseboard, and do any painting we wanted (there was an option for them to do these steps for additional cost). We had the closet installed a couple of days ago, and it went fine. The installer showed up at 8:30, and was done by 2:00 p.m. I met him in the morning and then I went to work while he was installing. The installer re-installed the baseboard on sections of the wall that were not covered by the closet fixtures, and painted a couple of the metal bars that attach the fixture to the walls using the left-over wall paint we had provided. The closet was missing one of the adjustable shelves shown in the closet plan picture, but Adrienne is going to get that to us. In addition, within 30 days of the installation, we can switch out accessories without additional installation charge (we are going to swap out a divided shoe cubby for shelves). The closet looks great, and was worth the expense of not having to do it ourselves.

I wanted a new bedroom set with a vanity, but could not find what I was looking for. I saw a display in California Closets' store that suggested they might be able to do a custom unit, so I arranged for a designer to come to my house for a consultation. At the first meeting, Kate came up with a design that showed she'd been listening. She returned the next week with a final design and pricing for a wall unit, an armoire, and 2 nightstands. Because the armoire and nightstands were pretty basic pieces that we'll be able to find elsewhere for much less, we decided to proceed with just the wall unit. The paperwork was done quickly, and they called the next week to schedule installation for just 3 weeks after the order date, which also spanned Christmas and New Year's Day. The installer, Brady, showed up on time and was very professional. He predicted the unit would take 7 hours to build, and it took him 6 hours and 59 minutes! We love the quality of the work and the terrific service.

This is our second experience with California Closets and again it was superb. Molly Montgomery came out to the house and measured. They now have their design on the computer so you can see what the closet would look like. We use the room as a closet but wanted it to be easily converted to a bedroom closet (space for hanging clothes) and CA Closets met that need. Their installer showed up on time, was incredibly neat and did a great job!

Madolyn was very prompt in coming over. After she saw and measured the basement, we went over everything my family needed in the rather large space. She covered all of our needs, and it turned out beautiful! It is a little more money, but it was definitely worth it for the ''built in'' effect it gives and the amount of storage we now have.

THE CLOSET AND PANTRY WERE INSTALLED TODAY. I'M EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH MY EXPERIENCE WITH CALIFORNIA CLOSETS. URSULA WAS PROFESSIONAL, ON TIME, THOROUGH...AS WAS THE INSTALLER. THE PRICE WAS QUITE A BIT OVER THE OTHER BIDS I OBTAINED. I WENT WITH THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THE DESIGNER/URSULA WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH AND BECAUSE OF THE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE.

FOR 10 YEARS WE LIVED WITH A CLOSET THAT WAS SO BADLY DESIGNED THAT WE COULDNT GET TO 1/3 OF IT. CALIFORNIA CLOSETS CAME IN AND DID A REMARKABLE DESIGN THAT DOUBLED OUR SPACE, MAKES ALL THINGS ACCESSIBLE AND IS BEAUTIFUL. GREAT WORK.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH OUR ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. SHELBY CAME TO DO THE ESTIMATE. THE ROOM IS A CHALLENGING ONE. EVERY WALL HAD A WINDOW, DOOR, LOW CEILING OR SOMETHING EXTRA TO DEAL WITH. SHE SPENT MUCH TIME GETTING EXACT MEASUREMENTS AND DISCUSSING POSSIBILITIES. SHE GAVE US AN ESTIMATE BEFORE SHE LEFT. SHE SENT THE PLANS A COUPLE DAYS LATER AS PROMISED. THEN SHE ASKED TO COME OVER AGAIN TO DOUBLE CHECK THE MEASUREMENTS SO THAT EVERYTHING WOULD BE JUST RIGHT. SHE CALLED WITH THE INSTALLATION DATA AND THEY CAME AT THE TIME SHE HAD SPECIFIED. THEY WERE NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL AND DONE BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY. IT LOOKS GREAT.
