Description of Work: My over-all rating is A even though some of the other ratings aren't. Tom is the person to get when you want thorough, well thought-out, and no details sluffed over. If you have a deadline (we were hoping to have it done before a wedding), it may not work-- or you may not get what's best about Tom. In our case the main bathroom needed to have the sheetrock removed, thereby exposing infrastructure with another bathroom, the kitchen, and the attic, all of which had problems. He corrected wiring, fixed a leak, and mostly remedied a long-running problem with ice dams. It was scope creep, but these all needed to be done, and this was the time to do them, when the sheetrock was off. The bathroom project itself came out beautifully, including a skylight (a specialty of Tom's, since his own house has 3 or 4 of them). A lot of the schedule issue was caused by a late start due to a previous project of his (and long after the wedding) running into a busy time for us when we took too long selecting details. If you do your own part of the project early, it will go a lot better. But still, not for the impatient!

Description of Work: Tom worked on the rehab of a home I purchased. I found him to be extremely dependable and to innately want to do a great job. He helped correct some wiring problems, in addition to pointing out plumbing issues that needed resolution. He also did drywall work to correct a very poorly finished basement and did a lot of finishing work.

 + -1 moreHe is excellent, very skillfull, smart in that he solves problems. He looks at your house and figures out how to solve the problem. He is very nice and reliable. He cleans up well when the work is completed.
Description of Work: He put in a wood floor in the kitchen and breakfast nook. He put in a table and benches in the breakfast nook. He built a vanity in my bathroom. He did some doors on the cupboards to match the other doors. He redid one bathroom and is in the process of tiling two other bathrooms. He raised a sagging roof on the north end of my house and put in insulation. He also installed better gutters. He solved two drainage problems in the basement.
