The AC worked better after the service. The reason was the additional coolant that was added, not the put-zing around. The service man was prompt and polite and reasonably professional. I think the price of $172 was about double what this should have cost. I think it is probably the going rate though.

"THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND THE FACT THAT YOU WOULD USE US AGAIN. I AM A LITTLE SURPRISED AT THE COMMENT ON PRICING. OUR MINIMUM 1ST HOUR CALL IS $135 PLUS MATERIALS. THE COST OF FREON IS $16 PER/LBS. MANY OF OUR COMPETITORS WERE CHARGING MUCH MORE. WE WOULD NOT BE SERVING OUR CUSTOMERS WELL IF WE DID NOT CHECK THE BASICS WHICH INCLUDE CLEANING THE OUTSIDE COILS AND THE DRAIN INSIDE THE FURNACE. A GOOD CHECK WILL TAKE A MINIMUM OF 1 HOUR PLUS THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. I HOPE YOU WILL CALL US AGAIN FOR ANY OF YOUR NEEDS AND WILL GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE OF SERVICE TO YOU. I HAVE A CONTRACT WITH EXCEL ENERGY AND THEY ARE THE ONES THAT CONTRACT THIS COMPANY FOR THE WORK. THIS COMPANY IS VERY THOROUGH, PROMPT, AND VERY HELPFUL.
