They did a good job, there was one issue, he came and fixed it right away, and it is holding up okay now. He was punctual, and the workmanship was good.

Simply remarkable. Our sink was in desperate need for repair and correction of prior DIY re-glazing. Doug was prompt, professional and very conscientious regarding dust containment. He quickly sealed off the area around the sink and set to work. Within a couple of hours, I didn't even recognize the sink. It looked better than we had ever seen it. In fact, the new buyers of our home cited the sink as one of the most impactful details when purchasing our home. I simply cannot recommend Doug and Surface Renew highly enough.

I bought the house after the previous owner hired Surface Renew to refinish the tub, the bathroom sink and the wall tile.  I don't recall the original work date, but the work was done a year or two before I bought the house - within the company's 5 year warranty period (which, I admit, is a nice feature - but would be unnecessary if the quality were better). Since the paint was peeling from the sink, I had them come out to touch it up and to re-paint the wall tile behind the toilet which I had replaced.  The paint behind the toilet doesn't match the other paint.  And now the paint on the sink is peeling again - significantly.  There are also many chips on the sink.  At the time I bought the house, the tub was still in good shape, but since then the shower water has caused paint from the wall tile surround (a peach color) to leech onto the white bathtub.  Combined with the condition of the sink and the peachish-stain on the bathtub, the bathroom looks pretty bad.  Now I'm looking for a new resurfacing company to come in and do it right.  The serviceman was perfectly nice, however, and they were graciously willing to perform on the warranty even though I wasn't the customer when the original work was done.  Unfortunately, the product is just bad..

For the initial appointment, two different individuals came to the house on the same day at two different times.  The first person had to etch the tub for prep; the second to do the actual painting.   Overall the initial experience went smoothly and it was nice that I was able to use the tub with a day because I only have one bathroom.
After the initial experience I have had the company back to my home on at least three occasions to repair peeling paint.  I had a frustrating incident with the first or second repair when the person didn't show up and didn't call to tell me.  When I called to complain I was told the person had to go to the emergency room and there was no back-up, etc. etc.  It became very frustrating having to arrange my schedule around these repair jobs.  I expressed that to the owner who told me that it is just part of this service - since they have to do the work in your home and are not able to replicate the actual process of baking on a porcelain finish, it is just something you have to deal with.  While I guess I understand this - I wish that I would have been told to expect having to have the tub repaired on a regular basis.
The most recent time I had it repaired was a few weeks ago.  When the guy came out to do the work he said that it was so bad he just had to start over and refinish the whole tub.   He had to come back on a different day to do the work with which I was fine.
I have asked the owner for my money back when things were getting frustrating but he refused.  At this point, I've just given up the fight and accepted that I will have to keep having them come out to fix the tub one or twice per year.  I am guessing they will continue to do this until my 5 year warranty ends.

Great experience which they were able to schedule the work in short amount of time before house was to be listed.  The qualitywas good while there were few spots where tape covered the tubnot allowing paint to adhere.  Would recommend to anyone lookingfor good value, professional service and quick response time.
Also, want to make people aware that if you want to recoat your tubthat doing it yourself is not that easy since I did try this route before callingaround for bids.  Granted the tub I was trying to recoat was alreadyrecoated many years ago and removing this coating would be necessarybefore applying new coat.  Removing old coating would requirealot of labor/time and most likely create an enviromental/health risk without proper HEPA mask/suit.

.  They sent out two different crews, one to prep and the other to finish, all in the same day. This is all they do and the do it well.  Even though the tub was a little uneven, they made it work.  The finished product really looks great.

They stayed with the original estimate for cost and finished on time in one day. The tub and surround look excellent. I was nervous about removing the tape the next day on some of the "tricky" areas and called and told them. Doug came right over and removed the tape. They all did a great job, very professional.

They were really good overall. I felt the price was good as well. They assured me that if there was any problem, they would get back with me quickly. If there’s a break in the surface anywhere, they would happily come back and fix it for free.

It went really well from the time I called until he finished. Communication was great. Price was a flat fee. He covered everything in the vicinity of the bathroom in paper to keep the dust off. Looks a million times better than it did before!

I asked if they had a discount for Angie's List members and in general. Shortly after, in the mail, I received a coupon for $20 off. They did not inform me of that and never reminded me. I did not follow-up with them. Otherwise, the quality of the work was done well.

The tub was badly pitted, so it needed to be resurfaced. Instead of just recoating it, Surface Renew spent time filling in the rough areas to get them smooth and then applied the coating. It turned out great and looks almost new. They did a good job taping around the tub and covering everything in the bathroom, so there wasn't much cleanup to do. They showed up a little later than planned but called to let me know they would be late.

The rep was very polite and arrived on time. He estimated the job would be finished in under 4 hours and it ended up being finished in 2 or 3, so I was very pleased with quickness. They paid careful attention to covering and masking the rest of the bathroom as to protect that from the new bathtub finish. The bathtub could be used again in 4-6 hours. I was very satisfied with the price ($525), responsiveness/scheduling and politeness of everyone I talked to at Surface Renew (scheduled the appointment by speaking with Dan). They also left a sheet on how to care for the tub, which I found to be helpful. Highly recommended and would hire again.

On time performance. Did not inform us that they would remove all our hardware (faucets, shower heads, towel racks, hooks, etc.). Did not mention that they would not replace all our hardware (as described above). Did great job in covering/masking the areas they would not resurface, but to a fault, they covered everything in the bathroom and made it super easy for them to just spray everything that wasn't covered, but leaving a HUGE amount of area covered that they in turn did not remove. I understand the treatment has to be dry before removing the tape and paper protecting our other surfaces. I feel a workman like quote and job should include BOTH clean up and replacement of anything they took down.

THE ONLY NEGATIVE PART OF THE EXPERIENCE IS THE MATERIAL SETTLED IN PLACES THAT WERE 'COVERED'. PARTS OF THE BATHROOM REQUIRED TO BE REPAINTED AND PARTS CLEANED. UNFORTUNATELY, THE CLEANING DID NOT ENTIRELY REMOVE THE PRODUCT.

FIRST, I PREFERRED THIS COMPANY OVER OTHERS BECAUSE I WAS ABLE TO VISIT THEIR SHOWROOM IN RICHFIELD FIRST TO SEE WHAT THE FINISHED PRODUCT LOOKS LIKE. THE TECHNICIAN WARNED US IN ADVANCE OF THE CHEMICAL SMELL. I RECOMMEND GOOD VENTILATION IN YOUR HOUSE WHILE THIS IS DONE AND CURING (24 HR+). HE WAS COURTEOUS AND EFFICIENT AND THE KIND OF GUY YOU DON'T MIND HAVING IN YOUR HOUSE. AFTER SIX MONTHS, THE JOB IS HOLDING UP WELL. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE COST AND WORKMANSHIP.

THEY WERE ABLE TO SCHEDULE A TIME ON SHORT NOTICE IN THE AM PRIOR TO MY LEAVING FOR WORK. THE TECHNICIAN WAS APOLOGETIC FOR HIS LATENESS, THE WEATHER WAS VERY BAD THAT DAY. HE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE ABOUT $100 EXTRA BECAUSE THE TUB AND SURROUND HAD BEEN RESURFACED BEFORE. THIS WAS A SURPRISE TO ME SINCE I HAD LIVED IN THE HOUSE FOR 16 YEARS. I WAS UNPREPARED FOR THE HORRENDOUS ODOR WHEN I CAME HOME AFTER THE JOB WAS DONE. THEY DO SET UP A VENTILATION SYSTEM PRIOR TO COMPLETING WORK, BUT I HAD TO OPEN UP THE HOUSE AND USE A FAN TO DRAW OUT THE ODOR FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE SLEEPING IN MY HOUSE (I HAVE ASTHMA). THE TECHNICIAN WAS POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL, AND NOT BOTHERED BY MY DOG. THE TUB SURFACE CAME OUT A LITTLE BUMPIER THAN I'D LIKE.

USED A POLYURETHANE-BASED COATING INSTEAD OF AN EPOXY-BASED COATING AND APPLIED IT WITH A SPRAY GUN. USED ACETONE AS CLEANUP SOLVENT, A HIGHLY FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCE. SERVICE WAS PROMPT, COURTEOUS, AND PROFESSIONAL. MADE A SECOND CALL AT NO CHARGE TO RECOAT THREE SURFACES, THAT DID NOT MEET HIS STANDARDS. SUGGEST OWNERS DO THIS WORK IN SUMMERTIME TO VENT THE ACETONE FUMES. DO NOT TURN ON LIGHTS OR CAUSE ELECTRICAL SPARKS WHILE SURFACE IS DRYING. IT COULD EXPLODE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

OVERALL, WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME. THE BATHROOM LOOKS GREAT WITH A FEW MINOR FLAWS WHERE THE FLOOR TILES MEET THE WALL TILES.
