I had a 7 or 8-year-old Sedan that my wife drives that she just recently replaced with a new car so we're selling it to my son so we wanted to make sure the car was in good working order so that the price that he was paying us in good faith is fair. So I had them go over the car and they very honestly identified things that were either serious problems or not serious problems or things that could become a problem. It's a new kind of place where they're super sincere. They have real good equipment. They're specialized on only two brands of cars. They really focus on servicing hybrid cars too. They're very fairly priced. This place is extraordinary. I just can't believe how good they are and what a nice thing to discover them.

CARspec is small business at it's best. I called to get a quote for a 60K mile service on my hybrid Lexus and received a fast and competitive price. I scheduled my appt, then had to cancel the morning of the scheduled day because of a sick child. They were very understanding and I was able to reschedule for the following day.
When I arrived, I was greeted by first name by Sheng, and introduced to John who was going to do the maintenance on my car. He walked me through the process, showed me the replacement filters he'd be using, and suggested I watch through the window if I wanted to see what he was doing. I sat down in the spacious lobby and proceeded to work on my computer, using the complimentary wi-fi. When John was done he asked me to walk into the garage with him so he could show me everything.
This sounds harsh, but as a female not knowing much about car maintenance, I expect the absolute worst and dread appointments like this. Fortunately, I experienced the opposite. John explained everything to me in simple terms, was very thorough, and pointed out a problem that he knew would still be covered under warranty. His experience with hybrid vehicles was impressive, and truthfully, I'd trust him with any vehicle, given his experience. He listened to other concerns I had, completely unrelated to the service I'd gone in for, and provided great suggestions.
I highly recommend CARspec for it's customer service, pricing, flexibility and speed of service.

The shop is the cleanest I have ever seen. Very transparent operation, with a window in the waiting room where you can watch the work being done. The owner brought me into the shop to show me the issue with my rotors (my brakes were shaky at high speeds) and recommended I get them serviced (which he did for a very good price). I was really impressed by the whole process of showing me what was wrong and then fixing it for a fair price. I didn't feel any pressure and everyone there seemed very honest and open. The timing belt was repaired quickly and they have a Prius you can use while you are waiting.
Overall a very positive experience. The waiting room was pleasant and spacious. The shop works on all Toyota, Lexus and Scions, with expertise in hybrids as well - definitely go there if you can. The prices were better than all the dealers too.

CarSpec is a new shop and I was very impressed. First, they are super transparent. There is even a large window in the waiting room so you can watch them work on your car. After inspecting my brakes Johnathon took me out to the shop floor and showed me exactly what the problem was. He gave me several different options for various types of fixes -- if I wanted to make everything good as new or if I wanted to pay a little less and just fix the immediate problem and not worry for now about something that could wait. I appreciated this honesty and advice rather then just telling me I had to fix everything.

I had to leave my car overnight because the break part had to be ordered; but I was able to take the shop's loaner car - a Prius (much nicer than my mini-van!).

Also, it was nice that they called after I had picked up my car to check to make sure everything was working as it should.
