Allied's billing and customer service departments are a NIGHTMARE.  Billing issues have led to multiple calls over 4 months totaling over 4 hours of conversation.  They are incompetent, unable to solve issues and not the least bit contrite about it. It should not take so long and require so many conversations to resolve an error on THEIR part.  Never an apology.  Wish I hadn't signed a contract since I now want to cancel and there will be a fee involved.  And it is more than certain they will botch up the invoicing on that as well.
Spare yourself the frustration and use a different service.  There has to be something better than this.

Occaisionally, I would call the company to complain that after a pickup, trash/recycling was left blowing across my lawn.  Once in awhile there was a missed pickup.  However, this year I called to inquire about a mysterious $85 charge on my bill.  The person on the phone explained that was the seasonal charge for yard waste pick up.  He offered to remove it if I didn't want the service.  I explained that I did want the service, I just wasn't clear what the charge was for.  I made the payment for this and it cleared.
Shortly thereafter, I set out my yard waste container.  It was not picked up.  I called for a missed pick up.  They did not pick up.  I called again, after being on the phone for 45 minutes, I learned that the call was logged, someone noted that I didn't sign up for this service, as I called and cancelled it and the charge was credited back.  I asked the supervisor why they didn't call me back, since clearly I thought I had signed up, paid the charge and set my container out.  She did not have an answer.  I had to call every day for 5 days in a row before they picked up my yard waste.
Yesterday I received a "courtesy call" stating that their drivers noted that I did not have any containers set out and they were wondering if I forgot. My yard waste container was clearly at the curb (I wish I could attach a picture!) since the evening prior.  No, they did not pick up my yard waste.

Allied Waste does an excellent job with weekly waste pick-up and every other week recycling pick-up.  I especially like their sort-less recycling can.  It makes it easy to recycle!

They went out of their way to help me.  They helped me with a very willing attitude.  Service of this level is rare these days.  Can't thank them enough.

Not like they are on time and specifically sometimes they come around 6:30, 7:30, or 8:30 and their timing keep changing and the concern I will have is that a week they are collecting the recycle and they will do it sometimes at 8:00 and sometimes 2:00 and so what will happen is if the weather is not good and it's very windy all the cardboard and paper and recycle materials will keep flying in the streets.

We hadn?t really had any troubles with them in the beginning. However, in August we were gone for three weeks out of town and we asked them to put our service on hold. When we got back, we got a bill for over 300.00! When I called them about this, they told me that the computer had messed up. The bills since have been a mess as well with subtractions and additions. I called and spoke with the manager and he assured me he would get it taken care of. I paid my bill and a couple weeks later I got a letter from collections because he did the math wrong! This customer service and billing is unacceptable. All I wanted was a simple bill, saying what I owed.

I have yet to receive a refund from services they did not provide. Not only that but every time I call them they seem to lower the dollar amount for the refund. I feel like the quality of their work is the same as everybody else.

They have prompt service. I just moved in and had a lot of extra boxes, containers and papers. I needed larger containers and they responded very quickly. I am very satisfied with their service.

There are a few things I like about Allied... we got a nice new garbage can when we signed on with them. Wheels easily which is nice because we have a steep driveway. I also like the fact that they offer free auto pay so I don't ever have to worry about paying my bill on time. Lastly, is a nice little story. My three year old daughter was at the end of our driveway playing with her toy lawn mower when the garbage truck pulled into our cul-de-sac. She got nervous, left the lawn mower at the very end of the driveway and ran up towards the house. The driver got out, pretended he was going to throw the lawn mower away but instead put it farther up on the driveway and then drove off and honked. My daughter talked about it for days. I then called Allied to tell them how pleased I was with what happened. About a month later we were outside when the driver came by to pick up our garbage. He got out of his truck and came up to us to say thank you for calling in with a compliment. He said his boss shook his hand, posted the compliment for all employees to see and even gave him a gift certificate for a restaurant. I was pleased to hear that not only was he told of the call but that he took the time to personally thank me. Who does that nowadays?

It has recently been discovered that Allied Waste has been charging our condo association 4x the going local rate for garbage pick-up of this type (for the last 10 months). Although we had wanted/believed we had requested only a month-to-month service contract, they were able to get a member of our association to sign a very punitive 36 month contract at this exorbitant rate. (This contract is illegal according to the by-laws of this association, so I don't know how much weight it really has, but I won't go into that).

We have been using Allied Waste Services (formerly BFI) for over 7 years. In addition to weekly service, we have had them pick up special items, like old cabinets, furniture, and other rubbish, for a set fee. The yard waste pick-up has been OK. We have had to call a couple of times for the yard waste pick-up, but they have always responded immediately.

I had been using Allied for a couple of years when I got a better offer from another company. When I called to switch, they said they would match the other company's rate to keep me as a customer. They have been very reliable in their pickup, and I have not had any major problems with the service.

Collection service was fine but billing was a mess that took forever to correct. Invoicing can be a nightmare if anything is out of the ordinary. I suspended service for a couple months. I was threatened with legal action multiple times despite being told my account records had been corrected. The amount paid is per month.
