They came back to re-due it. Next time I use them, I would be more clear.

We went in and we picked out a carpet we liked and it was from the express section.  They matched the price of Home Depot's installation charge of $39.  He made us sign a paper and they charged us for half the original cost of the carpet up front.  We paid $800 up front but management said they would adjust that to the sale price and credit back the difference.  He said he needed to get everything cleared before he gave us the refund.  I called him the next two days and they said the carpet wasn't in.  I called on Thursday and the manager said I owed them $150 more and he didn't adequately explain why.  I went in the store and talked to the manager and recorded the conversation; the manager said it was a mix-up and would try and fix it.  I talked to the regional manager and he said they couldn't honor the discount.  He was rude and very unprofessional. Eventually he stopped taking my calls.  We ended up having them to do it because I was trying to put our house on the market.  I felt like I was tricked and they charged what they wanted and they got away with it.  He ignored my calls and then he had the store manager call me back to set up the installation.  We had to wait until yesterday to get it installed even though they said they would get it installed on Friday of last week.
Response from Carpet King - Eagan
"Customer picked from our special value section which was a carpet only remnant which was already 60% off and then requires pad and labor to be added. Customers calls were never ignored, were either answered or returned updating the customer on their carpet order status. Customer was also trying to basically get stuff for FREE and was constantly asking if we could drop the price on the carpet more, labor, install and the overall price of the job which we did. Customer was told everything had to be cleared by our sales manager which is policy on special value remnants. We installed the customers carpet within days of the order being placed and received no complaints about the job that was done."

The installer trashed my freshly painted walls. Scrapes and gouges all over the lower half of the wall. I received a follow-up call asking about the service so I voiced my complaint. The customer service rep informed me they don't cover paint repair. Sad...I had to spend the better half of a day touching up the blemishes caused by the careless installer. I will never do business with them again.

They were on time as planned and did the job within the time period indicated.   We bought the warranty just in case.   Our place looks awesome and we are glad we bought from Carpet King.   Pam from the Eagan Carpet King was more than helpful to work out a great deal we felt comfortable with.    We have no regrets and love the feel of our new carpet.

80After six months we noticed the carpet being crushed in high traffic areas. Our concern was that this was excessive wear after a six month period. We have no pets and no young children living with us.

Installers were not good and I would not have them again due to their lack of professionalism which is sad because I liked the people in the store but they farm out the installation job.

We were unsure about the type of carpeting that would work the best for us in a high-traffic living room space.  We wanted something both comfortable and durable.
The friendly folks at Carpet King guided us to a reasonably-priced carpet with a long durability warranty, which was extended an additional number of years with purchase of the matching StainMaster padding.
This carpet was also part of a bulk purchase by Carpet King which they were able to offer at a reduced price compared to similar-quality options and the encouraged us to take home lots of samples to see in our home.
We're happy with our purchase!

My experience with them was good.  They were professional and they did a nice job.  I would use them again.  Price wise they were reasonable.

The sales lady steered us toward the sale carpet.  That kind of made me nervous but I still purchased that sale carpet. If I were to install more carpet, I would do research first.  To find out what brand of carpet is good.   I hope I don't regret it a year from now.    The estimator showed up on time and was very polite.  Then the installers showed up as scheduled and worked the entire morning.  The carpet and pad were installed and they did a very professional job.  It really looks nice.

One of the things that I liked was that I just felt like they really took the time to figure out what kind of carpet I wanted and then they were very respectful about trying to stay within my price range. They were good about trying to figure out as far as like colors that I had because I had just painted and helping me pick out a carpet that would go well with parts of the house and the new paint job I did in the living room and how it blended with the kitchen. The one part that I did not like was we were told that basically the installer comes in, they rip out the new carpet, and they flop the new one down so I would not have any time to clean the floor underneath so we had separated the take out and installation by a day and they had charged us an extra fee. I think it was an extra $50 to do that because they had to come out like two times. I talked to the guy who was the installer and he said "well that's not true, I would have given you time to clean up the floors. I wouldn't have just flopped on a new one on top." So that was irritating that we had to pay the extra money. That part I did not like about it.

Jim Harris at the St. Louis Park Carpet King provided great advice on new carpeting for my parents' condo before we listed it for sale. He understood the products and was very helpful in finding the right balance between cost and quality. The installation went great. Everything went just as promised with no surprises.

I was so pleased that I consulted him again recently for flooring needs in three different rooms in my own house. Jim remembered me, and was exceedingly helpful (along with the store manager, Marty) in getting me just the right carpeting, vinyl tile, and vinyl sheet flooring for great prices. The installations will happen later this month.

They really bent over backwards to do these jobs right. Their customer service has been wonderful.

Carpet King did a fabulous job carpeting our entire home. The sales process was very easy, we received a great price, and the installation crew did a great job. We had just painted our trim and there were no scuff marks which is pretty amazing.

Overall it went very well. The measurer, remover, and installer showed up right on time. The sales staff were very courteous and helpful in picking out carpet that would work well with my new living room furniture and wall colors.

They had very good service, the people that wait on you are very patient and they let you take stuff home and you don't have to pay for it. Their installers were very good, they moved the furniture around - my husband and I are older so we didn't want to do any moving. I think the prices are reasonable. My daughter just got an estimate from them for wood floors, but she didn't feel they had enough selection so she went somewhere else. She did feel that Carpet King did try to come down in price but another place had something closer to what she wanted. I want to see real prices and honesty. Some places will charge you so much a foot to rip it up then another place won't. One place will charge you $50 a room to move your furniture and another place will charge $55 a foot, there are so many different things and extra costs that make it hard. The people came the day they said they would and they did what they said they would do. I also used them 3 years ago when my mother needed new carpet in her home and they put in good carpet at a reasonable price. They were prompt, did what they said they would do and moved the furniture. The people were nice and did a good job. Several years ago they installed ceramic tile in my kitchen.

Once we decided on carpet and vinyl the fellow came out to measure. He was right on time and very courteous. He explained where the seams would be, and what possible options there were and why he would put the seams where he did. The installers were prompt and very courteous. I have not had a cleaner installation done. There was not one fiber out of place! Also, when they arrived with the carpet I had some doubts about it being the right color. It looked so different in the truck and not a 3 inch square. Plus, I was looking at the edge where the dying starts so the color was off, it would be trimmed off during installation.
