For the most part, our home is very similar to the home it was before the flood, yet even friends and family have been "wowed" upon first revisting us. Somehow it's like comparing a dime store painting to a Rembrandt. Each and every room looks so much more fresh, crisp, and high quality. And while I still enjoy the first and lasting impression of their quality work, I am keenly aware of how much work and attention to detail there was behind the scenes. Jake Vesel and company were always professional: they anwered all of our questions (sometimes several times per day), explained things like building codes, structural details, and what the insurance company would provide in a way that I could understand the whys and hows sufficiently to make inform decisions when needed. Jake and company were quite knowledgable about the quality of products and how that would affect the outcome of the projects (in other words, the knew how to keep the costs down without sacrificing quality) Jake and company were timely. They told us at the onset how long we until the reconstruction was complete, and by golly, they were right. Our independent insurance adjustor remarked on several occasions how lucky we were to be working with Vesel construction...their estimates we accurate and accepable to our insurance company. All of these points would assure you that you would be dealing with an outstanding contractor, Were you to choose them, and you would be happy with their work. But I need to add that on a personal note, Jake and Mable take their work personally...they have a strong work ethic and take pride in a job well done. They are down to earth, friendly people. Their work crew are quite approachable and extremely gifted craftsmen. And a year later, I still smile at how beautiful my home is.

Vesel was hired by me after a house fire. They were terrible from the beggining. I should of fired them-and regret that I did not! their work was awful. I had to watch every move they made as they really just were out to take advantage of me & my insurance company. I had very good insurance coverage,and they took advantage of that. They walked off the job with fixtures that were mine, charged my insurance for work that did not need to be done. acharged my ins. for light fixtures that I did not need. The paint job had to be re-done. They did not prime walls appropriately after a fire- so they had to be re-painted. Didn't bolt countertops down, didn't finish off the kitchen, I still to this date 2-20-10,do not have electricitry in half my kitchen because they cut wires. I can go on and on about how awful they are-anll I have to say is STAY AWAY!! They take advantage of people,CROOKED COMPANY! To say the least! The companys sub contractor should have been brought up on s** harrassment charges..the whole expereience was a nightmare. I am SO glad I let my insurance company know every step of the way how terrible they were,and documented 89% of this nightmare. The sub,consisted of one 70 some year old man who made painting one wall into a 4 day job. I quote him" because he was not getting an x-mas bonus he was going to stretch the job out as long as he could" I was stuck in a hotel throughout an entire holiday season-waiting for him to finish. This job that was quoted me to be approx..6- 8 weeks, took almost 4 months. NIGHTMARE company!!!
