"Thank you so much! We'll see you and Cooper again soon!"
So my dog had a SECOND and quot;ANNUALand quot; EXAM WITHIN TWO MONTHS, got THREE shots when his appointment was for ONE.....NEVER did get his nails trimmed.....AND the DEBRIS ISSUE with his EARS was never addressed when that was found on the second annual exam. Within a couple of days his one ear was INFLAMED....the one she DIDN'T mention on the invoice but had verbally told me about. I paid the $145.09 bill and fled.
When I called the next to day upon actually examining the invoice which I did not do at the vet in my desire to get the heck out of that place the day of the abuse.....I asked why I was being charge for a SECOND and quot;ANNUALand quot; EXAM when one had been done the month before. I might add that I was actually told by the receptionist when I made the appointment that there would be NO VET CHARGE if the vet entered the room because state law requires the vet to Give the IMMUNIZATIONS but only the immunization is billed. I was told by that same reception person she was the one who told me that and she did not that my dog had indeed had an exam the month before so she would get back to me about that charge. A week later I was told Dr. Anderson would NOT BE REFUNDING the ANNUAL EXAM CHARGE I had paid that was done unnecessarily.
CLEARLY Dr. Anderson did not bother to read my dogs record before seeing him. I have never been to a vet who did not spend 3-5 minutes getting to know my pet before expecting to touch them all over. Even Dr. Hargrove had done so on my initial visit. Furthermore...since she did the exam and found EAR ISSUES she should have taken care of THAT so my dog didn't end up with another ear infection within a few days. My REGULAR vet I saw shortly after this FLUSHED BOTH EARS, gave me detailed information about ear infections....more ear wash and an ointment that was much easier to use than the liquid I was initially given
PLUS trimmed his nails and had no problems whatsoever with my dog and I did actually ask since he was taken to a back room for his ear wash and nail trim.
In the end I have returned to my regular vet who is quite a distance awat and the only reason I had tried North Shore Vet is that I am now disabled and did not want to make that long drive. SADLY, THIS WAS A MAJOR MISTAKE!!!! I ADORE MY and quot;REGULARand quot; VETS!!!!
North Shore Vet Clinic gave treatment (shots) not due, an exam not needed and did NOT provide the appointment requested nail trim after scaring the crap out of my dog and MAKING him OVERWROUGHT (along with myself and verbally abusing me). They made money off the exam and shots not due to the tune of $48.63 (exam), $31.30 (Lyme vaccine not yet due), and $$19.70 (Rabies vaccine not yet due) and failed to treat the DEBRIS found in BOTH EARS and my dog had a raging ear infection within 3 days. I would not have minded paying for the SECOND and quot;ANNUALand quot; EXAM WITHIN TWO MONTHS if the results found would have been treated avoiding the ear infection.
Despicable!
This is VERY SHODDY BUSINESS PRACTICE.
