Locally owned and operated since 1987, Mike's Recycling + Services has been Hermantown and the surrounding area's premier source for residential and commercial moving, hauling, demolition, and estate clean up. At Mike's Recycling + Services, we specialize in all residential and commercial moves and hauling including corporate relocations; office and household moving; piano, organ and gun safe moving; as well as packing and loading services. We believe in minimizing our carbon footprint. That includes reusing and recycling things that are often viewed as junk, as well as making our services as environmentally friendly as possible. We work with local organizations and ministries to distribute usable items to less fortunate members of our community. We are pleased to offer a 5% discount to clients paying in cash, and an additional 5% discount to seniors. In addition, we are happy to provide free estimates for clients within 50 miles round trip. The actual move went very well. Mike and Dane arrived precisely when the company told me they would and got right to work loading my things. They had positive, can-do attitudes during the process and took great care with all of my furniture. They loaded the truck in a logical manner to protect my things and covered them all with blankets properly to prevent damage. The only thing which needed improvement during the process was communication prior to the services regarding the price quote and scheduling of service. It seems that Rose answers all of the emails and phone calls during the day, but she does not have authority to truly schedule jobs or quote job prices. So, she must wait until the evening for Mike to return from work and get this information figured out. This slows the response time for quoting and scheduling jobs, causes phone calls to be made at 9pm, and allows for miscommunication regarding job preferences from the consumer. I have had better service in the past from companies who have a knowledgeable person in the office during the day to get these things accomplished and I would suggest this improvement for Mike's Recylcing.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Mike and his team. They were punctual, very professional and pleasant, and took great care in moving my belongings. Mike came and looked at what I had to move and did the estimate in person- not over the phone based on his "experience"- and the final total was spot on. He had two trucks- one for the storage unit and one for my apartment and it was a two day move. We did go over on the time it took, and the revised total was not a shock to my bank account (I used another moving company when I sold my house and moved my belongings in to storage and the final total was 1-1/2 times what the estimate was). I would most definitely hire them again. I have had nothing but bad luck with movers since coming to Minnesota from New York City (if you can believe that) and Mike has restored my faith!

Excellent service - would hire again and recommend to family & friends! Mike, Rose and crew were wonderful and very helpful during a stressful time for me. They provided clean out/moving service for a house and garage that was filled with 65 years worth of “stuff”! Prompt, efficient, professional & reasonable price. Great!

These guys were great! Rose answered the phone promptly to schedule my appointment and was very flexible when we needed to make adjustments based on when the moving truck arrived. The guys showed up on time. They were careful with our belongings yet very efficient at unloading and placing everything where we needed it in the house. I would highly recommend them and definitely use them again!

The guys that moved us were wonderful. My husband was at one end of the move and I was at the other. We both agreed that we would always hire movers from now on after working with these guys. Very professional, friendly and hard workers. We lived outside of their area for an in-house estimate but they still came in very close to their estimate based off of pictures I sent them.

It went excellent! The movers were very careful with our belongings. They were on time and they hung around to make sure we didn't need anything else moved around after they were done unloading even though it was an 80 + degree day with two flights of stairs!!! They took great care to make it a pleasant experience and as easy for us as possible. They were very hard workers and the estimate was very close to the final total. Mike honored every agreement and discount we discussed and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!! A++ if I could give it.

The move went off without a hitch. Mike and an employee came to our old house a few days after the original email was sent to do a walk through to provide an estimate. Within a day or so after the walk through, Rose (receptionist / scheduler) provided a PDF quote via email. We were happy with the quote and told the company we'd be hiring them. Within a few days, they dropped off some pallets (free of charge) for us to store boxes on in a slightly damp basement, and we prepped everything for the move. On the big day, they showed up on time and got to work. We lent a hand, but the three man crew got the entire job done (loading truck, driving across town, unloading into the house) on-schedule. We also needed some appliances moved around at the new home, which they did without an issue. Oh! And a week after moving in, we called them to know that our moving boxes were all unpacked, and Mike swung by to pick them up for reuse - free of charge. Overall, the entire process went off flawlessly. We cannot recommend them more for the job.

The Mike's Recycling Team was professional, respectful and friendly as they co-ordinated my packing and move. When it came time for my estate sale, Rose at Mike's Recycling handled all the details including placing newspaper ads, Craig's List ads and having extra personal available to personally help on the days of my sale. My move was completely seamless from my house into my new apartment as they handled everything including setting up my furniture and moving all boxes into the proper rooms. Two words best describe their work: Fast and Efficient! When it came time for the clean-up of my house, they were there every step of the way with the complete move-out and clean up. The Mike's Recycling Team went above and beyond my highest expectations and I now consider them friends as well as business acquaintances .

Hard to say I had to fly out of Duluth Airport the following day and I don't drive. I called the Storage Company and they said it got all done with some room to spare in my storage unit, which tells me they did a good job in putting things away in a neat organized fashion. When Mike and his son arrived at my Motel they were punctual or rather early by 15 minutes which I loved. Mike was a serious and friendly man who wants to provide the best service he can give. Mike's son was supportive and friendly and both made my experience easy and pleasant. Both men were honest, succinct and to the point in telling me how they were going to go about the job. In lieu of all this I was not too happy with the pricing as the movers I used from Minneapolis were only 100 dollars more give or take and that was from Minneapolis to Moose Lake which was a much greater haul, where as this move is 45 minutes. Mike took in account of time it would take with the freight elevators at the storage unit. The other guy quoted me a price that was 200 dollars less but doesn't take Visa. My decision was Mike's Recycling and Moving Service. I liked using these guys and Rose who handles the paper work is a sweet lady who makes you feel at ease.

He came out and quoted a fair price of $250.00. When he came to do the work he nearly doubled the price saying it would take longer than expected. He did the job in a out half of the time he had predicted. He then gave me a verbal quote for other work. Later he sent an email and the quote was again almost double what he told me. Additionally this guy likely is not instead. I recommend you not call this company.
