Dropped the car off at 7AM, They called at 9AM to see if they could move forward with the work according to the price

I have had good experience with Jimmy's before (and given them an A here). But this was a bad experience. They were investigating a grinding noise. I got the phone call and he said - and quot;Someone put your left-rear wheel bearing in wrong!and quot; I went in to their office with a receipt from 7 months ago, showing that the and quot;someoneand quot; who put the bearing in wrong was THEM. At this point he changed his story to the part being faulty. I really was hoping he would *stand behind his work* but instead I had to really talk around the topic with him just to get him to knock $200 off of the ~$450. He said he had to and quot;cover his costsand quot; but I don't feel that it's *my* problem to cover his costs if he's not doing quality work. He also said something like, and quot;Well, you know, I don't turn every screw in here myself,and quot; as if he was not responsible for the work of his employees. Very disappointed. I have been there 4-5 times and always been happy but I'm not sure I'll return now. If he hadn't moved on his price I would have given this whole interaction an F. Instead, I'm considering some of the good experiences I've had in the past to give an overall C.

UPDATE: While they were doing this work, they were also doing a routine oil change. The filter they put in was faulty and we leaked over 3 qts of oil over the next 2 weeks. I've downgraded this report to D.

Good..the only negative thing about Jimmys is that they dont take credit cards.

This is a great repair shop. Jimmy is very thorough and charges a fair price. I dropped my car off and left a note explaining that in addition to the brake issue I had discussed on the phone, the car was shaking on turns. Jimmy called me and let me know the axle needed to be replaced. He tried to find the least expensive part available, and when he could not find that, he called and advised I needed a factory part. He explained everything in detail when I retrieved my car and told me that he could do more with it if I was interested, but that it was in safe condition as is. A mechanic that doesn't want to fleece you! I wish every town had a shop like this.
