Lonny at Heartwood was excellent to work with. He made sure we understood everything that was going on, kept us appraised of issues and made excellent recommendations regarding our house. Communication was A+++ (which is very important to my husband and I). I felt that he not only worked with us with our insurance claim, but also fought for us to make sure we got a fair replacement for our damaged property. He also broke the process down for us-- asking us to select replacements/colors/etc for things as they were needed instead of requiring it all right away; but provided us a full list up front so we could get to things as we were able.
I appreciated Lonny's willingness to work through the scenarios with us; he entertained our ideas and gave us quotes and opinions when we asked for them. Every time we stopped by the house, all of the workers who were there (whether from Heartwood or a company working with them) were polite, helpful and friendly. For a bad, stressful situation; it was as good as I could have ever imagined it. We're back in our house now and happy with all the work done. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Heartwood to anyone.

Heartwood Construction was contacted and immediately came out the same day when we had rain water leaking in a bedroom window. They checked everything over and the problem was resolved in a few days. My experience with this company over the years has been nothing but excellent. They return calls and emails quickly. I never had to wonder if they would show up to do the job. They always arrive on time and perhaps even early. The only reason I gave them a B rating on price is due to the fact that they are a little higher priced than other contractors. But, I would MUCH rather pay the higher cost and rest easy that the work will be done right and have no worries about anything else. Heartwood Construction provides a true value for the cost of their service that you will not find from anyone else. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed.

The crew showed up on the appointed date. Where at my house early every day of the job and stayed late. They did a great job of clean up, trash and nail removal. The workers where polite and considerate. No shouting, and no loud music. Hard workers. In addition to the classic roof repair for the house and garage, they replaced a flat roof that required a rubber overlay and sealant. They also closed in the soffits where wind had damaged and pulled down the old siding.
Over all I was very pleased with their service. They got the job done under their estimate cost. I have asked for and received estimates for future jobs and will probably use them for those as well.

My wife and I had the opportunity to meet Lonny around late September and in October we signed our contract to have Heartwood Construction finish our basement and build a deck. We could not be happier with the work that Heartwood construction completed. The basement is our favorite part of the house now and the quality of the work stands alone compared to the rest of the house. We moved into a new house in September and while Heartwood finished our basement they even took care of a few existing problems that the original builder had left. I have never trusted a contracting crew more in my house then I did with
Heartwood. They were always polite and professional and a joy to be around. Lonny was always very open and upfront about all areas of the project including pricing. We have built two homes and had other work done before and this is the first
time that absolutely no surprises showed up downstream of the start date. All promises were fulfilled and no price was
changed for the worse. Estimate of project length was almost spot on and we also were kept in loop with the schedule and schedule changes. If we ever have any future house keeping needs we are at ease knowing that we have met such a reliable and great company.

I called them back in July, they were pretty busy and said they would have to fit me in sometime in the future. I was good with that since I just wanted it done before winter hits.
I had a call about 2 weeks later asking if they could come by and see what needed to be done. They checked out what needed to be done, and said they would be in touch on when the work could be finished. Another 2 weeks or so went by, someone else contacted me and wanted to see the work to be performed. They came by and saw it as well.
I'm thinking because my job was so small (maybe an hour of work?), they were trying to fit me in-between jobs, so that would explain why two different people came by asking to see what work had to be done.
I was VERY surprised to get a phone call on a Sunday before a holiday asking if they could come by to paint. I was happy they were willing to work on a Sunday to get my little tiny job done.
It took them about an hour, if that, to complete the work and it looked good when it was done. Now at least those boards on the roof will not rot away from the weather. :)

Overall, Heartwood did an excellent job. Our ceiling had drywall over plaster and they were able to match the hight of the drywall perfectly and you can't tell where the new drywall meets the old. The staining on the molding is a near perfect match to the other molding in the Kitchen.
I was very impressed by the professionalism and courtesy of all the employees who performed the work onsite.
Heartwood's performs their estimates so that they will easily match up with State Farm. The entire estimate/approval process with State Farm went very smoothly. I highly recommend Heartwood if you have State Farm and need work done though an insurance claim.
I already plan to use Heartwood for future work on the house and I highly recommend them.

The only reason I didn't go with them for the front porch is because I didn't have the cash. I wish I went with them. I will never go with anyone else. They are good people. He is a good worker. The staff is great.
