I went with my eldest son (21) and my close friend. As we approached the register the clerk said in a rude tone- one per sutomer. We said that is all we are purchasing. He then again said in the same tone do you have a hunting license. My friends said no we are teaching my youngest son to shoot and a range. He then said well you come in here every day ( not true- visited 3 times in the last month) what are you doing hoarding them. I said why are you acting like this isn't my money good enough.
He then said get out of the store and don't come back, I told him he was a jerk and i would contact the owner.
Well to my surprise the owner was at the next counter and said not a word until he noticed that the local outdoor writer for our newspaper was there. He then became conciliatory.
We paid and left. As we were getting into our car the writer asked if he could speak with us as he had witnessed the exchange and wuld be doing a pice in the paper about the shortage of ammo. The owner then came outside and hovered around to listen in.
We later received a call from the writer asking for permission to be quoted in his story.
