Great service is hard to forget! I contacted Bakkelund Tree and Landscape Service to plant five large trees I purchased through a program. The delivered trees were far beyond my scope of planting them myself. I called around for quotes and found Scott to be the most reasonably priced for planting my trees. He and his team were great to work with and did an outstanding job planting my Black Hills spruce trees. There were also very mindful of avoiding my inground sprinkler system heads and water lines. I would highly recommend Bakkelund Tree and Landscaping Service for any of your landscaping or tree service needs.

They came out to evaluate the work before sending someone to actually do it. I got all my questions answered so great customer service. I did not compare to anyone else so cant comment on the value for money but there is no N/A button so I chose 2.5/5 to mean neutral. I have a vegetable garden next to one of the stumps and had asked that care be taken to not cause any damage. After the work was complete there were plenty of wood chips in the vegetable garden hence the 4/5 on work quality.

Get the details complete on the estimate before starting on the project. I did not get the size of the boulders on the estimate' which were smaller then I thought I understood from our conversation.

It was not really appropriate for me to give ratings yet. The work remains to be done and won't be complete for 6 weeks.

They did a great job

It’s very important to me to support our local businesses because of where I’ve worked for 19 years. I’ve met a lot of small business owners and would rather support them then big corporations. Out of the 3 services we left messages to on a weekend in November, Bakkelund was the only one that responded and gave us a quote that same weekend. We had a section of a tree hanging over our neighbor’s roof that needed to be removed for safety. Our land is next to the MN River, and the ground is too soft to support heavy equipment most of the year. Scott knew this without mention, and he cared about our lawn by not working until he felt comfortable to do so. With how wet & warm this winter has been, it took a while for the ground to freeze enough for the heavy equipment to drive on our lawn. When the time came, his crew was very efficient, and the job was done quickly! They cleaned up all the loose debris the tree dropped and there are no tire tracks on our lawn! I can only guess that the other tree service companies thought our job was a waste of their time since we never did receive a response from them, which leads me to believe they wouldn’t have cared about our lawn as much as Scott did. Thank you Scott for respecting our land and doing such a great job on our old tree!

They were superb!

I used Bakkelund Tree & Landscape Service to remove a very large Cottonwood tree in my back yard with a 3 foot diameter trunk. They did an excellent job and worked with me on the scheduling of the work. Scott and his team are very safety oriented as well as ensuring your yard and property are not damaged as a result of their work efforts. I highly recommend them and my neighbor also used them for some work after seeing his work efforts at my home. I would recommend them to anyone.

Very well equipped and experienced. These guys know how to cut and make a limb fall where it should. Trees were in a tight space next to my fence and hanging

Good value, fast service

My first winter with professional snow and roof service was fantastic with Scott Bakkelund. The work was timely and careful. This big winter was my first with zero ice dam issues. I have also put my trees in their care. I described my desire to maintain the privacy my trees and shrubs provide and they understood my fussbudget philosophy to protect the house... and the trees. The charges seem a great value to me. My snow thrower is for sale.

Scott and his team have been doing work for us for over 5 years now, including snow removal. They are totally reliable, courteous, and do a fantastic job. They taken out several large trees, major branches and cleaned up shrub and brush. They always clean up the debris and are very careful not to trod on my existing garden plants. Scott is also very conscientious about asking whether or not there is sufficient snow to warrant a trip to our home for removal and does a very careful and complete job of plowing the drive and shoveling our walks.

Scott visited to do the estimate and followed up as I was making a decision. I had trees trimmed and several removed. The work was done in a timely manner and the owner followed up to make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. The job took a couple days due to the weather and size of the job. I'd hire Scott again! The price was reasonable and the scheduling was great.
