The hallway floor job was complicated because we wanted to remove a vent in the hallway maple floor. To ensure a good match, Stan took wood from another closet floor (he replaced the boards he took from the second closet floor with new boards) to fill in the hole left by removing the air conditioning vent.
Our stairs (seven at approximately 10" by 40" and seven at 10?x 52?), risers and landing (approximately 42? x 42?) are oak.
Stan did a wonderful job and was extremely easygoing and pleasant to work with.

Floor was done perfectly, and on time. When we came back from holidays it was ready for the furniture to be put back in place. Stan was able to blend the new and old floors together so that they feel like they've always been together.

THE ANDERSONS DID MY PARENT'S HOUSE, MY SISTER'S HOUSE, AND NUMEROUS FRIENDS. THIS IS WHAT ANGIE'S LIST IS ALL ABOUT! I BOOKED THEM EARLY BECAUSE THEY GET VERY BUSY. THEY ESTIMATED THE JOB AND STUCK TO BUDGET DESPITE THEM HAVING TO HELP REMOVE SOME BROKEN-OFF STAPLE REMNANTS. THEY GOT IN CLOSE WITH HAND SANDERS AND EVENED IT OUT NICELY WITH A BIG DRUM SANDER. I'VE SEEN MANY SHODDY JOBS BY PROFESSIONALS AND DIY'S WHERE THE EDGES OF THE ROOM HAVE A DISTINCT SANDING LINE AROUND THEM. THEY SANDED 3 TIMES WITH FINER GRIT, FILLED ALL HOLES WITH WOOD FILLER, THEN APPLIED 3 COATS OF POLYURETHANE OVER 3 DAYS. THE FLOORS LOOK FABULOUS AND HAVE HELD UP WELL OVER A YEAR. MY FAMILY'S FLOORS STILL LOOK GREAT TOO.
