EVANS GARMENT RESTORATION

We had a fire in January of this year and suddenly the next day the insurance company had all these people at my house taking things out, having me sign releases, etc. It was a whirlwind and of course I had no idea what was really going on, Very vunerable spot. The cleaners brought emergency clothes that came back damaged and we called the insurance company who Evans said they never received a call from with our complaints of shrinkage, bras tattered, discoloration, etc. When we went to review the clothes the warehouse is dark and dismal, you have to bring your own light except they have no plug ins to use, so we tried bringing flashlights to see what was cleaned. It was a nightmare. They kept telling us to take it home and then if we found anything wrong we could settle with the insurance company but by this time we had learned if we took it, we claimed it was in good condition. We refused to take the clothes because they still smelled like smoke, had other odors, some discoloration, some defective cleaning, and were causing a skin irritation in addition to soot or black "something" coming off on our hands. We asked for Material Safety Data sheets to determine what was used and have continued to be promised the sheets, but never received them. Now they will only send to a doctor directly. The doctor has already determined the clothes cause contact dermatitis. We feel very betrayed.
