For a big messy, smelly job, John did it all in a week and as neatly as possible. We worked around other workmen, and by using water-based varnish, were able to sleep in our bedroom. Nice job tying in the old/new floor.

John and his crew have refinished several floors for our property management company.  He is incredibly responsive and does great work all for a very reasonable price.  It is very important in my line of work to know that the work is going to be done well and on time without having to always double check things are going ok.  John would call with updates and communicated well if there were any issues.  He is now our go to guy for all of our hardwood flooring needs.  A good Angie's List find.  I'd highly recommend them.

We found John because his company, Arbor Flooring, is registered with Bona, and John uses environmentally friendly products (e.g. Bona finish). John was very professional, and he gave good advice. He didn't recommend that we do more than we should. In fact, he laid out a plan to start small (and focused on repairing and blending just the area from which the built-ins had been removed), and only do more if we thought it was necessary. We ended up having him do the whole floor in case it would improve the appearance a bit more and to have another layer of protection (from 3 kids and soon a dog). This was our decision, and John didn't push us to make it. After the finish had dried, I noticed a few imperfections (almost impossible not to have on a floor our size and in a very open environment undergoing additional remodeling). John was very good about coming back and fixing those imperfections.

When we bought our house, we tore out the old carpet and discovered worn hardwood floors underneath. John worked us into his busy schedule, sanding and refinishing almost the entire upper level of our house. He did a beautiful job, for a very good price. We couldn't be happier; the floors are beautiful.
