I wanted all walls of my one bedroom condo painted the exact same off white. Simple request. And for the bare minimum requirement of getting the paint onto the walls, great job. Smooth application, good coverage. Everything else went sideways. Even though I mentioned punctuality being important to me to the sales guy during the estimate, they were late both days. Finishing touches were all but ignored. The choice in which outlet plates they decided to take off vs just paint into the wall makes my head hurt. They covered the wood floors but laid nothing down over the carpet. I've got paint overspray on every surface which I am still cleaning up. They removed the tape but didn't go back to clean up edges that weren't straight. But the most egregious error was they left my unit unlocked overnight with EVERY light left on (including the oven light for some reason), the thermostat had gotten knocked to over 90 degrees so it was boiling, and the tub faucet was running. Not full bore, but a very steady stream. FOR OVER 12 HOURS. Thank god I went over at 9 am to check on the place because they didn't show up until after 1130 that morning. As an apology they waived the $350 that was being added for skimcoating that needed to be done in the bathroom. After everything was done, the sales guy decided to stop by and brought the most confusing and frankly condescending apology gift, a bag of chocolate and a beanie baby keychain. Overall a really terrible experience and I wish I had just done the painting myself. Would have been cheaper and would have been done with far more care. Lesson learned.

I hope you have the time to read this whole review. This was not a good experience. We signed the contract with Jordan the salesman and had some very specific conditions and things that needed to be addressed that were in the signed contract. We provided custom color paint formula, asked that mildew on exterior be addressed with soft wash cleaning agent to mitigate the mildew, peeling paint be scraped, sanded and primed, and filling of woodpecker holes and unnatural breaks be filled with exterior grade bondo wood filler. We noticed communication issues when one of the JMJ employees, Ryan, showed up unannounced with a color chip chart to try and find a match to our existing color. Luckily, I stopped him when he was about to leave, as he did not attempt to notify us he was on the premises, and asked what he was doing. When he explained that he was there to find a paint color, I explained that I had supplied a custom paint formula already that he should be using to match the color and supplied him with the custom color formula again. On a Saturday afternoon, three non-english speaking workers arrived to power wash the house. They left after three hours without notifying us the power washing was complete. Noticed the mildew was still on the house. I had to assume the â special washâ in that area had not been done. On Monday morning a crew arrived to begin painting. There was no supervisor, no paint (apparently the wrong paint had been ordered) and no one on the crew spoke English. Finally, an employee of JMJ (Joe) called and assured me the paint was coming, the mildew would be addressed and any questions should be addressed to him. He was not the supervisor as the supervisor was on vacation but he would communicate our questions to the crew. Paint was finally delivered by Ryan and painting started. In the course of the day, work was done, patching, painting, masking and power washing the mildew area for the second time but again it looked not so good. About half the house was patched and painted that first day. On day two, only three workers showed up and began to patch and prep the house. It was at this time I noticed the wood filler being used on the house was not the exterior bondo wood filler called for in the contract but was instead Sherwin Williams INTERIOR ONLY wood filler. I asked the workers to stop work, do no more on the house and called JMJ trying to contact the owner of the company (Adam) to express my concerns. I was contacted by JMJ-VP Jacob and explained what was going on. We arranged a time for him and a different crew supervisor to meet on site and discuss the situation. It was at this time JMJ started to treat me as customer and try to address the job and fix the mistakes. They worked very hard trying to dig out as much on the interior only wood filler as they could and used Bondo brand, they power washed the mildew area for a third time and Erick, the new crews supervisor was around often to oversee the operation. The second crew painted the bases of all the light fixtures rather than masking around or removed the fixtures. We received a $350 credit for 7 light fixtures being painted. In the end, the house is painted. Whether it will hold up or if issues with the interior only filler will come to light, time will tell. It seemed as if the signed contract conditions and terms had never been communicated to the first crew and power washing team. Do the job as quick as possible and move on. You never get a second chance to make a first impression and my first impression of JMJ Painters is not so good.

We have dealt with many sub contractors and by far he was the best. Adam went above and beyond.

It was a really nice touch that he had a color expert come out and help pick out colors for my house.
