"On April 3rd, an order was placed for 3 special order doors, as well as 3 belt drive openers. When the order arrived, June 2nd was set as the installation date. A few days after the installation, Mr. [Member Name Removed] inquired about the handles on the outside of the doors. He had thought the doors would come with decorative handles since a door on a brochure displayed decorative handles. We explained that the decorative handles are one of the additional options that can be ordered for the doors, but are not included in the door kits. The handles were not included in the written estimate but due to the misunderstanding, we ordered the decorative handles as a courtesy at no additional charge to the customer. When the decorative handles arrived, we noticed there was a color variance between the sets and immediately placed a new order. In the meantime, Mr. [Member Name Removed] called regarding a wall button occasionally not working. When we were unsuccessful in trouble shooting over the phone, Mr. [Member Name Removed] stated that his wife is home during the day and we could stop by to fix the button, as well as install the new handles when they arrive. The first two times we stopped by to complete the work noted above, no one was home. On the third stop, again, no one was home. Since we did not need entry into the garage to attach the handles, we decided to go ahead and complete this piece of the job. Two days after the installation of the handles, Mrs. [Member Name Removed] called to follow-up on both issues. When told the handles had already been placed, she stated they had not realized that we had been there and the handles were on the garage. When asked if she would prefer today or tomorrow to work on the button issue, she chose the following day. When we arrived and inspected the wall button, we determined that the issue was that the screw needed to be tightened a little more to ensure a solid connection when pushing the button. In reviewing the completed work with Mrs. [Member Name Removed], she appeared happy with the new doors. There have been times that we may need to move items out of the way to make a safe working environment or to ensure a garage door is able to safely operate. It is not in our practice to bolt anything to a wall that is not related to a garage door or opener. We sincerely apologize for any miscommunication or inconvenience we may have caused. For over 30 years our goal has been to give each of our customers a great experience and a product they can trust. We hope Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] love their product and if they have any questions in the future, that they can trust we will do the best that we can to help them."
This past October, 2012, I thought I had opened my garage door, but eveidently didn't. I accidentally backed into it from inside the garage. I was able to get the door open, but not closed again. I went to work leaving it open with the hope no one would steal anything (not that I have a lot inside to steal). I looked in Angie's List and called a couple places hoping I would be able to get someone out right away to at least get the door down. No one was able to come out that day. When I finally remember Joe's last name, I was so happy that he was listed on Angie's list too. I called Professional Garage Services early in the morning and was happy to learn someone could come out that day while I was at work to see if they could get the door down and working again. The best part was I didn't even need to be home when they came. They would do the work and then let me now what I owed or what my options would be. When I came home from work, the door was down and operational. The technician called me that evening to let me know my options. I could have paid just for the repair he did that day, or get panels to replace the ones that were bent even though the door would probably work okay for a while. I decided to replace the panels. They had to be special ordered due to my unusual door size. A few weeks later they were ready to be installed. I was able to be home that day while the job was completed. All in all I am very happy with the service and final results. What I thought was going to be a major problem and inconvenience for me, ended up being no such thing. I highly recommend Professional Garage Services for anything having to do with garage rehab or repair. They have been miracle workers for me!
The next morning I decided to call Professional Garage Services even though I had made the appointment with the first folks because a friend had raved about them. I was pleasantly surprised when Carol Pinto asked me to walk out to my garage and figure out with her help that what was really needed was to replace a broken spring that I had not noticed was broken She recommended replacing the pair of springs because the unbroken spring might go sometime anyway. That made sense to me. I cancelled my appointment with the first outfit and went with Professional Garage Services. Carol also called to confirm an hour window for the work. John arrived on time as promised and was professional and efficient. He replaced both springs and lubricated and checked the door's operation. I would definitely recommend them. They were clear, quick and reliable. I am glad that I can tuck my car in garage for many years to come.
I wanted to have the rotting wooden trim around the door replaced by the same company at the same time. I had trouble finding someone who could do both. Professional Garage services was able to do both. Joe Pinto, who is the company owner came to my home and gave me a bid for both. His price was the lowest bid I received. He emailed me drawings of the two window choices I was considering. He was always on time for work scheduled, cleaned up afterwards and was pleasant to work with.
I paid half of the cost up front and paid in full when the garage door was installed. There had been a misunderstanding on my part about the inclusion of decorative handles on the door. He said he would come back in two weeks to put on handles at no cost to me. Since I had already paid him in full I was wondering if he would be back. ( Twice before I had paid venders in full before work was completed and never saw them again). Two weeks later he installed the door handles and also replaced my old key entry panel, which hadn't worked for years with a new one. Also free of charge.
I had chosen to paint the door myself to save $395. In hind site it would have been worth it to have it painted by the builder. It took more time than I had planned and I drove to Champlain to do the painting in Professional Garage services' building.
