Stepaniak Construction Co

A break developed in the main water line into the house. The break was electronically located to be four feet from the water meter in the basement. I chose Stepaniak Construction Co. from a list of contractors for sewer and water repairs provided by the city and because they were working in my area. Jerry arrived within 20 minutes of my call. We argeed that the leak was likely just outside the foundation of the house. The next day (Friday) a large backhoe arrived in front of the house. The work began on Monday. After digging a 10 foot hole next to the foundation down to the water pipe entrance it was clear that the leak was under the basement floor. They had to open a hole in the concrete floor to locate the break which turned out to be about two feet from the water meter. A four foot section of new copper pipe was installed, the void under the basement floor was filled and the hole in the basement floor was patched with concrete. After the inspection the hole was filled and the one shrub that needed to be removed was replaced. All work was completed in one day. Jerry was easy to work with, professional, courteous and competent. The cost was the same as his original quote before we knew the break was under the basement floor.
