Top Choice Lawn Care is a locally owned and operated lawn care company since 1986. Our specialty is controlling many tough weeds that our competitors cannot like creeping charlie, thistle, and nutsedge. Top Choice uses organic based granular slow release fertilizers that perform better for your lawn and are safer for your family, your pets and the environment. Knowledgeable staff on hand to help you with any lawn care problem.

They have excellent pricing for a 4 applications. They out within a week. They called to let us know when they would be out so we could ensure our sprinkler system was turned off. Accessible via the phone for questions. A note was left telling us what was done and instructions on watering. After the 1st application the yard looked 100% better, the weeds were dying - Yah! We are very happy so far.

Not well. Our backyard slopes upward and extends back about 30 yards. A 60 x 20 section of lawn completely died last year, and because we rarely go up there, we didn't know it until we raked last fall. We were not informed at all about the problem. I contacted the company, and they said they never received a complaint or call from us about it. Well, I'm not the one who is out there fertilizing and applying weed-control solutions to our lawn every other month and would notice it right away. I expect a lawn-car service to let me know when there is a problem, which there clearly was. We now have to prepare the soil and seed. Will never use them again.

They did the work this past fall it is hard to tell until the spring comes. Hopefully I will see results this spring. They were punctual answered my questions appeared to do a great job and I am going to use them this spring summer and fall.

They did a great job. My grass was in rough shape from my neighbors dandelion infestation, they came out and took care of the problem My lawn looks great. For the price it cost me to purchase fertilizer they came out and did it all. They also Aerated my lawn which they did a great job at a fair price. Would recommend.

We were pretty much happy with them. We were satisfied with their service. The thing that I like about their service is that they use organic fertilizer. The outcome is fine but everytime will be different. They are dependable.

The staff were OK. I only saw them once or twice. They left the area clean. They seemed to do a good job. I would tell a friend to do business with them.

I just moved into the house where Top Choice provided service in the past. The previous owners forgot to cancel the service, so I came home to a Top Choice sign in my lawn and an invoice in the door. I called today as I did not order the service. However, I received excellent customer service and information. As a result, I decided to keep the service given my lawn looks great. I will be receiving two more applications for the season.

I have been very satisfied with this company until this year. I have recommended them to others including my daughter and son-in-law in Bloomington, MN. But this year they lost my confidence completely. For starters they did not come until quite late in the season, which they are quick to point out was not their fault due to the late spring. But - I had to calll them to get them to do my first application finally on May 17th. Then when they had not come back for my next treatment after 9and a half weeks I called. Was told they would check on it. No further communication until I called again 8/6 - two weeks later. I then was told that they couldn't get to my house because of road construction. A gain, not a big deal in itself, but they never called or contacted me back. I had to call them again! So the phone answering person has to talk to the boss... And I got a call back this time to say that the boss had looked and he would not send his truck into that kind of a construction zone. As a matter of fact he would not send his aeration truck and trailer in either so he suggested we cancel for this year. They offered a refund and I grabbed at the opportunity. I'll not go back there again.
A piece on information to add to this: during this two week period of conversations there have been 4 different lawn care vendors that have come to 4 different neighbors in the same "construction area." We also get FedEx and UPS and Garbage trucks and we all drive through the area regularly. So the excuse that it was so terrible doesn't hold much water. My reason for the great negative review is two fold. First for not comming to do the job they had taken my money for. Second, for not keeping me informed of what was happening. When I hire a company, I expect to be handled with courtesy. And I expect communications if that contractor is not going to fulfill their part of the deal. They had not even broached the subject that they would not have enough time to even deliver my 4 fertilizer applications. This only came up as I quizzed the phone answering person.

Top Choice showed up exactly when they said they would. We had a prepaid seasonal contract for four applications and all were completed as promised. The lawn looked terrific under their care, a significant improvement from the last "national" company I had been using. We are relocating to the NW otherwise I would continue to use them indefinitely.

So far, everything is going very well. I inquired about an estimate in late May and was concerned about timeliness for weed control. I called the office and spoke with someone who was very knowledgeable and able to confirm that there was enough time to still apply weed control. Top Choice was out within a few days for the first application and called ahead to alert us.
The lawn looks great. We have some dying patches, but that is clearly the result of killing the weeds that had overtaken that part of the lawn. Our Creeping Charlie weeds also appear to be dying! The lawn looks much greener than last year, but that could also be all the extra rain.
We haven't had any additional treatments yet, but if anything significant changes, I will update the review.
