They were completely professional, and worked with our schedule.  They started earlier than we expected, and the job took less time than we expected.  The staff they employ are incredibly talented and friendly.

How did it go?  We stated with someone who was looking at making a 3 season porch which gave us space but realistically did not solve the kitchen. Then we moved to a carpenter of a friend.  While he had great ideas and suggested turning the garage into the new space he trickled small pieces out to us and not a shovel was turned.  From July to October and all we have is a blueprint and disappointment.  We went to every place possible to pick out a fireplace, carpeting, cabinets, lighting....a wild goose chase that was depressing and unorganized.   At his point looking back we were going the route of furnished that would have updated us to the 90's.
In October of 2011 comes the Remodeler's Parade of Homes.  Our goal was to get some ideas to bring back to our project.  After seeing houses and talking to the various builders I dawns on us that we are making a big mistake.  We meet two companies on the Saturday that got us thinking.  On Sunday we fully adsorbed what we were looking at and fully engaged with the on site people.  We hit it off with one company and they arranged to come talk to us.  Then we made a visit to a second house of a company which we saw the previous day.   At that point we really like them and asked for them to meet us.  We then returned back to the first company house and told them we had set a date to meet.  This gave a a chance to further discuss ideas and the juices started to flow for our project once again. When company C__________ came in on the Monday the designer looked at the plans we had and all this person did was rip what they saw in these basic drawings.  The sales person.....loved him.   He took down what we discussed and in days was back with a low and high project figure.    On the Wednesday we meet with company #2.  The first question was"What are your dreams?" Now we are talking!  We put our dreams down and gave our budget $$$.  He would be back in a few days but a leader was now in the clubhouse.  When the first returned the we liked the figure but there was a fear about working with the designer and the fact that they completely hired out all of their help. Told them they needed to wait.    When company two came back the figure was a touch higher but more detailed and included the items we wanted.  That night my wife and I inked the retainer contract set out by Dennis to proceed with Roberts Residential.  We would get a followup visit to go over the ideas and get the plans set.     Along arrived Chris who was to be the Project Manager and John the Owner.  John came in like a house on fire but once the ideas came out of him we were going gaga!!! Absolute visionary like.  The final figure contract was presented and we signed to get things going.  Construction would probably start in late November (real smart?).. The foundation work started the Monday after Thanksgiving.  We had our first planning meeting.   Ton of great discussion and great fun.   The framing for the garage is complete 2 weeks before Christmas and the old garage is now getting framed and foam insulated.   The day after Christmas sees the garage floor poured.  January 2nd means the kitchen gets gutted to the studs and the floor is set.  Next week the big deal  the walls are all broken down.  The size of the project starts to look like the real deal and we have a meeting planned to go over the big details with Dennis, Chris and John on Thursday. Then the unthinkable....my wife's father suddenly passes away. on the Wednesday.  The world comes to a stop as my wife rushes to the hospital.  I call to leave a message that we will have to cancel.  They agree and we guess things will stop.  However my wife says lets just do it so that things keep going.  Pretty tough to do but we say lets keep the meeting.  The meeting was fantastic.  It kept my wife's mind on something else and the guys were so gracious.  To this day my wife says that that single meeting was the best tonic during the time frame.   Enough was discussed that the project could go on for three weeks on its own.  Chris and Dennis were exceptional. The project kept going.   the only thing that did not happen.....SNOW.  A dry winter was a huge help when constructing in winter.  Things continued on time and as scheduled.  Troy, Terrell & Brandon along with Dave the electrician were welcome guest who over time become like family.  Before we knew it the appliances came, the siding and roof looked complete from the outside and the inside was finishing up.  The fireplace, carpeting and hardwood floor signaled the time when we could finally start moving in.  The driveway was put in the first week of
April and the final inspection took place.  DONE = Dream
What we we have is an addition and remodel that makes up to date with the same look and quality of new housing.  Our house looks like the 2010's.    We even got further guidance on what kind of furnishing we should put into the new space and the adjoining areas.  We have had a couple of things that needed to be fixed or changed and the people at Roberts were on it right away.   They told us we are forever part of the family.
We can say enough about what Roberts and the people did for our family.  John, Chris, Robin, Troy, Brandon plus Dennis & Terrell ....we can't ever thank you enough.  You are friends for life.  Their professionalism made this entire project enjoyable.  I am not lying when I stated that we never had a terse moment with anything.  Something so hard was so easy.    We have exactly what we wanted and some items we really were not excited for turned out to be something we never thought we would own.
All in all.  The costs were low....the mortage rates low,......available labor hours........no snow.....!!  No better timing to do the project.
If you do not talk to Roberts Residential...don' t tell me 'cause I told you so......................

We were in desperate need of a bathroom remodel for the original master bathroom for our home. The room was a long rectangle and although we had some ideas of our own we had some unique issues to deal with.

John Pagen and the Roberts crew came with solid ides and solutions. Their work was excellent and high quality. But the aspect we liked the most was that the job boss, Chris, laid out the time frame, stuck to it and communicated on a daily basis where they were, what was next, what to expect and how the job was going, this was a god send with people needing access to the house. The finished product turned out better that we had expected. The overall performance was excellent.

I am an enginner.  I had a detailed set of plans and statement of work that I used during the bid process.  The finished project is almost exactly what I drew.  I had a hard time finding contractor for this project.  It was a big job.  John at Roberts was a good person to work with and his staff, especially his cabinet maker, were all easy to work with.  They offered improvements to my plans in some cases.  They made almost all of my ideas work.  Scheduling subcontractors is always a hassle and I thought things could have gone smoother and faster, but delays were not unreasonable.  Materials showed up when needed.  I had trouble with one subcontractor smoking on the job.  That situation was delt with by Roberts and was no longer an issue.  As I said, I am an engineer.  I did the wiring and installation for the five speaker theater system evenings and weekends to stay out of their way.  Roberts was content to let me do that.  I have been very happy with the finished product.

I did have Roberts bid on a guest bath remodel project last summer and found they were overpriced compared to othr bidders.  I will call Roberts for bids on futire work.
