OAKBROOK INSTALLATION

We were completing a remodel on our house. Oakbook's bid came in below the two other quotes that we received. We were pleased with the work that Jerad and his assistant (Jose) completed. We had few punchlist items at the end of the project and that they also completed to our satisfaction. They were able to install the FSC-certified wood from the location that I specified. We would use them again.

When Jared came out to measure I was very clear about the time restraints. He said not a problem. However the installer was not able to do the job in the 2 days available. He didn't start until after 3 p.m the 1st day and worked 4 hours. Said he had to get some supplies. The 2nd day he arrived at 10, left for several hours and the job was still not completed. After the 3rd day he finished. I had to leave for 20 minutes and when I came back, the windows were all opened and my radio blasting. He was rude and angry with me because I didn't trust him to be in my home while I was at work. He didn't clean up afterwards from the sawing in the garage. He would leave the door open allowing the dog to "escape", after I told him he needed to make sure the door was closed he ignored me. We hired a handyman to finish the trim work.

Amazingly smooth installation, after major hassle getting carpet and pad. Carpet supplier (Home Depot)would not install over 1950's 9x9 vinyl tiles without extra expense of adding underlayment to cover tiles. Thus, I had to find my own installer. Jerad at Oakbrook returned my first call the same day. We set a 1 hour time window one week away for the measurement. He appeared at my house in the middle of the time window. He said he would give me an estimate, including measurements the next day. He did. After ordering the carpet and getting it "in", I called and set up a small time window and day for installation. His installer picked up the carpet and arrived at my house within the time window. The installation, bedroom, went well; especially a nice touch in the doorways. He picked up all the scraps, ready for vacuuming. We did a walk through and I gladly paid him. Jerad very businesslike and the installer, Bryan, was personable. I had the freedom to get the carpet where I wanted.
