We had a horrible experience. It started out with Mike hooking up our bathtub and then trying to lift his own body weight off the floor he used my brand new custom cherry tub front with an open cabinet door as a crutch to bear his weight down on to help him get up. Clearly the hinges weren't strong enough to hold the few hundred pounds and the hinges bent. Mike bent them back, but the door still doesn't close properly and it is difficult to close (takes 2 hands to a lot of effort to close. Good thing it's more of an access panel than a daily use door.
Secondly, my bathroom drain leaked right after he installed it. I was the one who found the leak, luckily he still had more work to do in the house so he actually did fix this problem.
Lastly he used some sort of corroded pipe in my newly remodeled bathroom. I called him to let him know about this and he claimed to have no idea why or how water could run brown and asked how much I used it. He asked "Where is the payment check???" I explained I'm going to pay a portion of the bill, but I plan to withhold some because the water is running brown from the tub and I want it to run clear before I pay in full. He started yelling at me "JUST PAY YOUR BILL!!!!!" and hung up the phone. I decided not to send any payment at that point, after a few months and many late charges from Mike's Plumbing I decided I never want to see or deal with this again so I just paid the bill, but I wrote a note to call me because the water is still running brown. Of course he never called me back, but he did cash the check.

First problem: Within 30 days of the purchase of our house our basement flooded. A pipe behind a basement wall was not fitted correctly. Basically, the pressure of the water caused the seal to fail resulting in a flooded basement. The master plumber that we hired to fix the issue said it was"gross negligence." When Mike was informed of this issue he was actually quite pleasant and said he would repay us for the plumbing and water damage. After more than two months of inquiring when I would receive payment I hired a lawyer to send him a letter. A few days later I followed up with a phone call. He started yelling over the phone and ended the call with,"the check is in the mail, p*** off." It was actually quite funny and I did receive the check. Bottom line, this guy is not a class act.
Subsequent problems that I attribute to Mike are below. I confirmed with the developer that Mike was that person that installed these items:
Subsequent problems that I attribute to Mike are below. I confirmed with the developer that Mike was that person that installed these items:
- I had to replace a bathroom faucet fixture (less than one year old)
- I had to replace a shower valve because the diverter broke (14 months old and the master plumber that fixed the issue said it was not installed correctly)
- I had to have the bathroom toilet reinstalled (14 months old) because it was not properly installed (the master plumber stated that the person that did the work clearly cut corners)

He did an excellent job. I called, and he came out within an hour. He repaired the leak very quickly, and efficiently.

I contacted Mike Friday PM (11/26/2010) and he came out Monday AM (11/29/10) and viewed work to be done. He advised he would go back to his office and work up a price for the job. He called me back within about an hour, and I accepted the quote and set up Wed AM(12/1/10) for work to be completed. He was on time and completed the work within the time he estimated it would take. He did a excellent job and I am very satisfied with his work. So satisfied that I am having him replace the toilet in one of bathrooms and a outside water valve next week (12/7/10).
