An oil change is one of those chores that no one likes to do. At times you wonder if the place performing the work will try to tack on additional and quot;needsand quot; or charges once they start to perform the work, especially since I have an older vehicle. Being new to Burnsville I received a coupon for a $20.00 oil change at Midas and figured why not, especially since their nation-wide. I was SO pleasantly surprised; they really make the customer feel as welcome as possible. Once you are immediately greeted and services begin on your vehicle you are offered free soda, wifi, and magazines (catered to both men and female). When your car is ready they take the time to go over what was discovered in the courtesy check. For my experience, Justin came across as very honest, said which items to watch out for, but there was no 'you need to do this today' sales pitch. There were a handful of other customers in the waiting area and I witnessed similar experience of them being honest of the work to be done, why, and never made the customer feel dumb. I would recommend Midas of Burnsville to anyone is the surrounding area. I will definitely be back there for another oil change and would consider them if I had other work to be done on my vehicle.

At Midas we go more specifically for a particular manager who has been transferred here. They told you what is needed but they don't try to sell you everything. They told you what was nice, good and critical. They did not try to push it. They found the best way for you to co-ordinate and they give you the best service as well. Overall everything is nice and they give it to you at a good price. Price wise I think I get a good deal. I am not a mechanic but they bring things to my level and they make sense why it should be done.

I called in the morning, asked if they could get me in that day, and Adam the manager said yes. I was told 45-minutes for the inspection, but it was more like 30. Adam explained everything that was wrong, and pointed out that the rear brakes were worn, but he didn't pressure me with any upselling to get those fixed today. He said repairs would be 2 1/2 to 3 hours and the work was done in that time frame. Not really part of the service, but it is nice there are a couple strip malls and food within walking distance. I had checked Angies list for several Auto Service places to have my brakes repaired on my '99 Volkswagen Passat. I got 3 estimates -> Dealership @ $880, Import auto service @ $710, and Midas @ $560. I took my car over, and in 30 minutes they had a full workup, all measured tolerances and noted the pad life left. The manager, Adam, went over the estimate in detail with both of us standing next to the car. He pointed out each item, and did not speak down to me, or in an obscure or overly technical fashion. He gave options for doing just the back brakes (milling to min remaining tolerance), because the front rotors were already thinner than minimum tolerance, but still had a fair bit of pad life left for about $280, or fully replacing both the front and back pads and rotors for $560. I asked if he had new rotors to match my VW in stock, and he said no, but could have them sent over from a local parts store in under 10 minutes with no extra fees. I opted to to both front and back at the same time. All pads are covered under the Midas lifetime warranty, and the new rotors are covered for both parts and labor for one year. Adam said the work would take between 1-1/2 to 2 hours......and they had it done at the 1-1/2 hour mark. They also accepted a $30 off coupon that I had downloaded from their Midas.com web site.
