It went SLOW really slow, it took all summer for them to finish. In actuality the roof took 1 day. The Painting 2, the deck 2 days, the gutters 1 day, the fence and shed I ended up repairing myself. The reason I did the work myself on the Fence and Shed was, when George came over with the contract to sign, he had left out the repairs on those items and I decided instead of having to wait for George to rewrite a new contract I would do it myself and save some Money.
Roof like I said 1 day no problems , two flat tires because they did not get all the nails.
Painting 2 days, but it turned into 3 because I had to call them back to paint the Garage door, they did not paint it. So then I noticed that the trim had not been painted either. Easy to tell when I painted the house 2 years ago I used gloss. George with out asking decided that flat was the way to go, (cheaper) the trim is still all painted with gloss paint. The painters where also suppose to brush in instead of just spaying because of the siding we have ( it is notched in every 8 inches up and down). George told me they would have to brush the notched parts. According to my neighbor whom watch them paint my house a paint brush was never used. I get to paint the trim myself this summer.
Gutters 1 day, he had someone else do this work, all the garbage from the old gutters was left in my yard, and one downspout was never installed. The garbage we did call about and George came the next week and hauled it away, I also told him about the downspout. I will be buying and installing that downspout.
Deck, painting it was great . The problem was that a railing cap board (the decorative cut board that goes on top the railing spinals) George told us that because he would not be able to find a board mitered the same could he make something up , it would be nice he said and he would make a spot for drinks to go on. He put a 2 by 6 on top and stained it. Looks Terrible. I will admit that I said fine when he finally brought it over to fix the piece, but that was only because I wanted it all to be over. I decided it was why less stressful and time consuming if I were just to finish of fix everything they did not do or did s*****. Then to fight to have them do what they said and where being paid to do.
Shed,, I did and turned out well, but George decided to take the Money the insurance company gave us to fix it for Himself.
So as I found out if you have a Mortgage and your have damage to your house the insurance Money , will go to your Mortgage
company, US Bank in this case and they will do everything in their power to make it a living h*** for you to get any of your money to fix the house that they are so worried being fixed. I will review them next. So the way George was able to steel over $400 dollars from us, was we had given him permission threw the bank to be able to call and find out where his next draw was. It was suppose to make it easier on us. He could call and chew them out about where his money was. Turns out he also told them he was due about $423 dollars more then he was, for the final check.
