"Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns with our organization. We appreciate all feedback, positive and negative as it helps us better our business and provide a greater customer experience for everyone. Upon seeing your review, our executive team immediately reached out to the Field Supervisor who met with you back in June. He admitted to dropping the ball and not following up with you according to the standards we set for all of our employees. In response, we have reduced his case load. We appreciate the opportunity to assist in updating your home and we are regretful for not providing what you needed in a timely and efficient manner. Please know, the values and beliefs of our company as a whole treats every customer with the same respect and we will continue to take action if our employees do not meet the expectations of our beliefs. Again, thank you for keeping us informed and providing us an opportunity to better our business."
My previous siding had never peeled right off the house, EVER.
American Building Contractors, Inc. , in one of their brochures, claims they are America's largest insurance restoration company, "we are an ethical and reliable company that will help you with a high degree of professionalism. When you do business with American Building Contractors, you are the recipient of a team effort. Each person has the same goal; to make sure you are completely satisfied."
Well, I am seriously and completely dissatisfied with the siding product American Building Contractors installed and who claim this product as "superior". Apparently those who filed the 750 class action suits weren't satisfied either.
"American Building Contractors did install siding on [member name removed]โs home in Chaska in September, 2002, as is stated in the body of her comments. The listed โWork Completed Dateโ of 10/3/14 is completely incorrect. The last time anyone from our company was at the home was in 2002. At the time of that install we purchased what we sincerely believed to be a quality product from a reputable supplier. We had no knowledge of any reported issues with that siding. It should also be mentioned that since completing this project over 12 years ago, we have received no complaints or requests for inspection or service from [member name removed] including her call to our office on October 3rd, 2014, at which time she merely inquired what brand of siding was installed on her home. At that time we emailed her that information along with supporting documentation and, in a general sense, stated that PVC coated steel is considered to be a superior product to either vinyl or aluminum. Three weeks after we sent that email [member name removed] responded to the email to ask the date of installation. We promptly replied with that information and again, there was never any mention of any issues with the siding. It wasnโt until a week after that email that she sent an email where she complains about a class action lawsuit, the fact that the lawsuit was capped at 750 claims and she goes on to express her โdisgustโ that we knowingly sold her a defective product. Even in this email she does not say that there is anything wrong with her siding. She has never stated what she feels is wrong with the product, asked us to look at it or said what it is she would like us to do about it. After we received [member name removed]โs last email on 12/6/14 we did do some investigation and we did find that there was a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer of the siding over this product. It should be noted that the manufacturer sold this same siding under over a dozen private label names. While the suit allowed people to join whose siding was installed as far back as 1991, the fact is the claim was not settled until August of 2013 (11 years after [member name removed]โs siding was installed). It is also our understanding that the fact that she did not get in on this suit in no way stops her from pursuing a claim under the regular siding warranty. Our agreement with [member name removed] states that ABC warrants the installation of the products and the products themselves are warranted by the manufacturer. As a contractor, we install what we believe to be a quality product from a reputable manufacturer so that, if there is an issue, we create the greatest chance that our customer will be taken care of. We donโt even know if that is or isnโt the case for [member name removed] because it doesnโt sound like she has tried to pursue the claim through the proper channels. From our perspective, [member name removed] should contact the material manufacturer and file a warranty claim if she feels that the product is failing."
"AFTER READING THIS REPORT WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE MEMBER'S INSURANCE COMPANY BECAUSE WE DEFINITELY DID NOT COLLECT MONEY FOR WORK WE DIDN'T DO. THE MAN FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY ADMITTED IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE AND SENT THE MEMBER HIS CHECK. I CONTACTED THE MEMBER, AND HE WAS SUPPOSED TO AMEND THIS REPORT, BUT APPARENTLY NEVER HAS. I DO FEEL BAD HE WAS NOT 100% HAPPY WITH THE WORK, BUT THERE WERE COMPLICATIONS ON HIS JOB CAUSED BY THE AGE AND PRE-EXISTING CONDITION OF THE HOUSE, AND I WOULD ARGUE HE WAS AT LEAST AS RESPONSIBLE AS WE WERE FOR THE DELAYS IN GETTING THE ISSUES RESOLVED."
