"Of the 336 pieces we moved, a damage claim was filed for 13 pieces two months after the move. After inspection of the claimed items by experts in the furniture industry, 3 items have pre-existing damages or normal wear, 1 item was not shown to the inspector, and one item was repaired prior to the inspection. Of the 8 remaining items that were verified as transit related damages, the claim was paid at the valuation rate within thirty days."
The communication with the office was very good. Due to distance, we had to do a Skype walk-through for an estimate, but they were very accommodating and easy to work with.
The company wanted to schedule more days for packing than originally planned rather than being rushed.
Because we lived in an area hard to get day labor in, they sent the truck and packers from the company's location. The packers were super nice and contentious. They even made a point to spell our children's names correctly on boxes--a special touch since the kids have had teachers for entire school years who never bothered to learn how to spell their names correctly. Because they scheduled an extra day at their request, they took their time and did a great job.
Due to a closing glitch, we had to move unloading off a couple days. They were totally good with it and kept the loaded truck with no extra charge (thought they did say if it had been more than 2 days they probably would have to charge--totally understandable).
They unloaded on a Saturday, the same guys came and brought extra help for unloading, and again were all super nice and easy to work with. Great senses of humor as well!
When all was said and done, the original estimate that was done with only a Skype walk through came within 200 pounds of what the truck actually ended up weighing. Because we were paying out of pocket (vs. a relocation through an employer) they packed and weighed very carefully to help us keep costs down. It was a fabulous moving experience!
The contact person in the office we worked with was great and ultimately settled our one complaint very quickly (Eric).
The scheduler was helpful (Rachel) and both were easy to contact.
The person who came to do our estimate was friendly and ultimately fairly accurate.
The movers themselves were not overwhelming as far as quality or efficiency -- they did not break any of our things, and they were cordial. This was our first time moving using movers so we didn't have much to compare to.
Our complaint was that the driver definitely tried to overcharge us for time, but this complaint was addressed immediately by the office and we were given an appropriate refund.
We would consider using this company again for our moving needs.
"The agreed delivery date on this shipments contract were 5/9 thru 5/13 it delivered on 5/12 within the spread unfortuneatley a misunderstanding somewhere on the delivery day between shipper and driver. "WE ARE UNETHICAL? WHAT ABOUT THE MEMBER WHO UNDERVALUES THE TOTAL VALUE OF HIS HOUSEHOLD GOODS TO GET CHEAPER INSURANCE. THE MEMBER DID NOT EVEN KNOW THE VALUE OF A PIECE OF ARTWORK HE OWNED. ONLY AFTER IT WAS BROKEN DID THE MEMBER LEARN THE VALUE OF HIS PIECE OF ARTWORK THAT WAS STORED IN HIS ATTIC. THE ARTIST HIMSELF INFORMED US THAT HIS ARTWORK WAS WORTH $850. ONLY AFTER THE MEMBER CALLED THE ARTIST, EXPLAINED HIS SITUATION, AND INFORMED THE ARTIST THE MEMBER'S WIFE (BY MAIDEN NAME) WERE FRIENDS, DID THE VALUE OF THIS PIECE MULTIPLY. THE MEMBER UNDER ESTIMATES THE VALUE OF HIS HOUSEHOLD BELONGINGS, AND THEN FILES A CLAIM FOR THE VALUE OF HIS TOTAL SHIPMENT. HOW DO YOU PLACE INSURANCE ON SOMETHING YOU DO NOT KNOW THE VALUE OF? IF THE MEMBER HAD TOLD US THE VALUE WE CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE CRATED THIS ITEM BEFORE THE MOVE AND HE WOULD HAVE HAD THE PROPER AMOUNT OF INSURANCE TO COVER THIS ITEM. HE CALLS ACTION MOVING UNETHICAL, BUT THERE ARE FEDERAL LAWS REGARDING CLAIMS FRAUD. WE WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF ANY OTHER PROBLEMS REGARDING THIS MOVE. THE MEMBER HAD AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO INFORM US OF ANY OTHER PROBLEMS REGARDING THIS MOVE, BUT DID NOT. HIS LETTER IS NOTHING MORE THAN SLANDER."
