We were experiencing failure of our detectors which are wired to respond to an emergency to the whole house. Jeremy called before he arrived at our home. He was on time according to our time window. He was very polite, reviewed our concerns, and located all detectors before he started. He explained about the product he would install, what the warranties were, wrote an estimate, and answered all our questions. We agreed to the work and both Jeremy and Guy proceeded with the replacement. They used their own ladders, put down drop cloths, and made our system new again. They vacuumed up any debris they had made and removed all packaging to their truck. We were very satisfied with the experience!
Description of Work: Jeremy and Guy replaced all of our outdated smoke and carbon monoxide detectors including new wiring.

The customer service was excellent. I was able to make an appointment within a week of purchasing the $1199 package for electric panel replacement. I received an email confirmation with the names and photos of the two person team that would be coming to do the work. They called about 30 minutes before arrival as promised. They were courteous and friendly, willing to spend time discussing my situation and answering questions. I was provided 4 estimates based on different options we discussed. The most expensive option was what they recommended, but I wasn't pressured to accept it. In fact, the electrician took the time to ask me what I liked about the options, encouraging me to make a thoughtful decision and advising me not to feel I had to make an immediate decision. Based on my situation and the option I selected, there was an additional cost of $2180. Although I had hoped to spend less, the cost wasn't out of line with another company who had provided me estimates for similar work about six months earlier.
Description of Work: The provider replaced the electric panel for my existing 200 AMP service, installed a new surge protected outlet with fire guard in the kitchen.

They were friendly and professional and seemed to do a good job. They provided an estimate right away and provided some options for the doorbell system. It ended up being much higher priced than I thought, because I was told we had to update the circuit box to arc fault which I hadn't planned on. I don't know how they compare in price to other companies, but it seemed like a lot for the amount of time they spent at the house.
Description of Work: They replaced a hard-wired smoke detector, installed two gfci outlets, replaced the doorbell system and updated the circuit box to arc fault.

These guys are great. They showed up on time, were friendly and did quality work. They wore the protective boot covers even though they didn't need to since my whole basement is torn apart and is down to the bare cement. They explained my options very well and helped me make the best decision for my situation. I went with the middle option for surge protection as they made it very clear that the cheapest one was better than nothing, but the middle one would provide much better protection. They completed the job in no time and had little interruption to my morning routine getting ready for work. Have hired them for a couple jobs now and they have done great work each time.

It went well. They were on time, and were in and out very quickly. Very professional and easy to deal with. I had purchased another light for my laundry room, but I really liked their suggestion for the LED light. Randy's will be my go-to electric people. My cost was the initial $99 for the special plus the $138 that I paid for the work done.
Description of Work: They installed an outside motion sensor light (that I purchased at Home Depot) over my back door. Also, they moved a laundry light over the washer and dryer and installed a LED light fixture. They come off the light and added a light switch by the entrance.

This was a request from a buyer in a home sale and I needed information quickly so I could decide if I could afford to have the work done or counter with a different proposal. I called today and was put on their workin list and Will and Stephen came In the early afternoon and completed all the work. I was able to accept the buyers offer following inspection and close the deal on my house. Both men were professional and delightful. They needed to problem solve three outlets that would not show as grounded when they were replaced. Steve had an idea about running some wire across the ceiling to fix the three outlets that were all in a row. It took longer due to this glitch but I was glad to pay a little extra to have everything completed and successful.
Description of Work: Repaired 3 circuits that were double tapped and changed all two hole outlets to grounded three hole ones.

Appointment went excellent and when it was completed, I had' peace of mind'. They gave me options so that I could make good decisions about what needed to be done for now. Since the house is old, additional wiring updates is still needed and I will be contacting them going forward.
Description of Work: My house is very old and some wiring had not been updated for atleast the past 40 plus years. So what the tech did was update and replaced 4 outlets. Both Techs - Dale and Mike - were Professional, knowledgeable, On Time, and very easy to work with.

I had a great experience with Randy's Electric from the first email to completion of the services. I got a quick reply from Abby in the office after my initial inquiry, was scheduled within a few days and I found everyone to be very helpful and kind. Will and Steve did an excellent job today performing the services I needed! They answered my questions with ease, performed the work very quickly and efficiently and were extremely pleasant to be around. They wore shoe covers every time they entered the house, they cleaned up after the drilling, they were very friendly and they were even nice to my dog! They also asked if there was "anything else" I needed and then proceeded to change out a light bulb in a tall fixture that I couldn't reach. Will even told me of some new technology with synced smoke detectors and a wifi garage door control that I might have them do next. I would highly recommend them and everyone at Randy's Electric! I will certainly use them next time I need anything electrical done in my home!
Description of Work: Installed four fan timers in the bathrooms, installed a Nest thermostat, installed a Wemo switch for our front porch light, answered my questions about a mystery switch that didn't seem to control anything and an outside outlet that didn't have power.

I had Jeremy look at feasibility of installing an outlet inside an inset frame for our medicine cabinet. They verified that with some creativity it was feasible to do but in the end it was outside of my budget. But their willingness to work through all the variables of my unusual request so I could get a better understanding was great. I instead opted to have the ceiling fan light fixture switch converted and I love it. I was told by a different electrician that converting the fan would be challenging. But it was no problem at all. Very knowledgable.

Jeremy and Jack (Jeremy's assistant) came to my house and looked at my 101 year old light fixture which has not been functional for many, many years! Jeremy diagnosed the problem and the electrical parts that needed to be replaced. After about 1/2 hour he had it re-installed and working perfectly:) Jeremy and Jack were both very courteous, professional, and cared about providing excellent service. it was a pleasure to have them come to my home. I will definitely use Randy's Electric, again, and will request Jeremy.

I paid $59 for an estimate visit, partially because it was relatively quick and easy to get on their schedule, and I'm really glad I waited for my other estimate to come through. Based on the type of conversation and the many expenses added to the bid that I didn't expect and were not a part of another electrician's bid, I know I saved a lot of money by using another electrician. The other electrician actually talked me out of some of the work I'd considered, labeling it unnecessary or work I could do myself. If I'd hired Randy's for the work, I could have retrieved my $59, but even that I wonder about--charge more for work and that $59 doesn't amount to savings. Another area that seemed price-insensitive: the guy told me we had installed the wrong cans for recessed lights and that we'd need to tear them out. Contrary to his assessment, the cans are indeed IC-rated for direct contact with insulation, as confirmed by the label on the box and another electrician who came and did not share that assessment.

Thank you for your feedback and I apologize that you feel like we weren't a good fit for you. Our electricians all have over 10 years of experience, are licensed, bonded and insured so they don't consider suggesting that someone who is unlicensed do their own work. It is awesome that you found someone to do exactly what you wanted for the price you wanted to pay. That is most important.

The electrician Jeremy and his apprentice arrived on time and were very professional throughout the entire process. They immediately put on shoe covers when they entered the house. Service provided as purchased, quick response, quality labor, punctual, great communication. The only reason I am giving a C on pricing is that I bought the coupon for $279/entire house surge protector, called to schedule service, confirmed that nothing else was due as coupon covered it. When the electrician came he punched some numbers in his handheld device and said I owned trip charge of $89 (if I remember correct value). I told him that it wasn't a service call and there was no trip charge, as a coupon was purchased. He was very surprised with the coupon value and then removed the trip charge, bringing the due amount to zero. That threw me off a little as I wonder what if I hadn't said anything? All in all great value, great service, opportunity for internal training/communication.

Two electricians, Tom and Jack, called ahead to say they were on their way. They brought booties with them when they entered the house so they wouldn't dirty up my home. They then spent over 2.5 hours going through my electric panels, outlets, switches and fixtures diagnosing issues and calling out any serious hazards. I have a house that was built in 1956 and more than half of the wiring is copper in cloth. The rest is Romex. We also have a low voltage switch system. Tom explained how everything worked in detail in my home - old and new. I never felt pressured and I learned a ton about my home. In hindsight, I wish I had hired them to do walk through my home before I purchased it so I would have known a lot more detail about the electric system we have. Tom ended the visit with writing out a detailed estimate of what it would cost to update panels (3) outlets and switches in my home. The $275 (Angie's List Deal) was absolutely worth every penny and I am excited to refer Randy's to other friends looking for electrical expertise.

Simply outstanding from start to finish. The bid was professional, the work equally so. There were a few nasty surprises when we opened up the walls, and numerous last-minute additions to the project scope, but Randy's team adjusted and got everything done. One of the electricians spent an entire Saturday at the house to finish up some particularly complicated work while we were out of town. It was a large and challenging job, but they handled it very well. We will definitely be contacting them again if we need electrical work in the future.

Two electricians promptly showed up from Randy's Electric. We discussed the issues at hand and they provided a bid for service to be performed which I accepted. The original wiring from my 1964 built home was fine on one ceiling light, but was damaged on the other (which I suspected was the case). They showed me the damaged and brittle wiring and I agreed that it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the wiring for my kitchen drain disposal also ran in to this same location and was also brittle with bad insulation. I agreed that it needed to be replaced as well. It was an unexpected additional cost, but I felt better knowing fresh wiring was in place. Overall, the services provided were excellent, I just spent more than I expected/hoped to spend. The electricians provided good communication throughout the job and thoroughly replied to all of my questions. I also feel quite relieved that this work is completed and that my lights work again. I will definitely use Randy's Electric again in the future.
Description of Work: I needed the light switches replaced for my two kitchen ceiling lights as they did not consistently turn on. I was also concerned that there was some bad wiring on one of the lights that the previous home owner jury rigged.

Great customer service by person scheduling the appointment. Their first available appointment was a week out but she called later to say they had a cancellation and could get us in that day, which I greatly appreciated. The two electricians called in advance, arrived promptly, and completed the work efficiently and professionally. Although everyone we dealt with was great and the work was done perfectly, I was completely shocked at the bill for 2 1/2 hours of work ( 2 electricians worked for 1 1/4 hours). They did provide 5 smoke detectors, 2 CO/smoke detectors and 2 light switches, but that still left around $1,000 in labor for 2 1/2 hours of work. Holy Smokes! Granted, we haven't used an electrician for a few years, so this may be the norm. I did get some estimates for future work and if I find that the quotes are comparable to other companies, or even slightly higher than average, I would definitely use them again-like I mentioned-except for the sticker shock, they were awesome!

Electrician called 30 minutes prior to estimated arrival and arrived on time. He had apprentice that arrived a little later. They went through the house and garage and checked the electrical system. He pointed out things that were not up to code and provided a quote. The cost for gfci outlets seemed a little steep, but we needed the work done for sale of home so went ahead. They worked quickly and finished sooner than predicted.

This went way better than expected. We were not looking forward to the hassle of fixing several electrical issues in our home. The men from Randy's arrived on time, looked at all of the known issues that were of concern and checked other areas of the home for any additional issues. They left for roughly a half hour to retrieve supplies. When they returned they fixed and replaced several (10+) recessed lighting fixtures/bulbs, replaced inconveniently placed burnt out bulbs, replaced track lighting with a modern fixture, all with LED light bulbs, fixed a ceiling fan, located the problem with our non functioning dishwasher and installed an additional outlet. They even cleaned up any dust or debris that the project created. They had all of this accomplished by early afternoon. I did not expect to have so much of the work completed, have it done so well, so quickly and by such courteous and nice people. I highly recommend them and would definitely call them again if I needed any electrical work completed.
