I had more work planned but the guys didn't have the right ladder even thought I'd made it clear while setting up the appointment I had some work that was 15 feet up. Ended up having to setup another appointment with a different guy who had the correct ladder.

So sorry for the misunderstanding on the ladder - additional appointments are definitely not convenient. We do appreciate your patience.

Two electrician arrived on time and started working right away. Once all the work was done, I asked some questions about cost of replacing the fuse box. They explained the options and costs, what my current fuse box could and could not handle. This was very helpful, when I decide about future updates. I would recommend Randy's Electric and use them again.
Description of Work: The original plan was to move an outlet in the upstairs, which wasn't attached to anything. The original $200 from Angie's list deal covered most of that cost. Since they were already at the house I had them change out 5 outlets in the basement to GFI outlets. That was an unplanned cost, but needed to be done

The crew showed up within 30 minutes of our call and quickly traced the problem. They were able to restore electricity to the kitchen but needed to come back the next morning as the electrical problem was more extensive than originally thought. They were highly professional and skilled.

Really well. Because we have an unfinished basement, they were able to snake up the wiring without damaging the drywall. We replaced the ceiling fixtures with new LED units, and we are delighted at how they look and how much energy they will save. We will definitely call Randy's Electric the next time we need electrical work done.

I asked for a quote from Randy's since they had great reviews on Angie's list. Very professional and thorough with their quote. I had several quotes done and they were the only ones to charge. I needed two new outlets installed and new lines ran from the box and a ceiling fan. A plus: they offered to start immediately! Very nice if it was an emergency. However, their quote was over $2000.00. I was able to get the work done from another electrician on Angie's list for $850.00 although I had to wait three weeks for the work. Well worth the wait! Make sure to get multiple quotes. Randy's tried to pressure me to start that day, but I'm so glad I got other quotes.
Description of Work: Came out to provide a quote. $59.

The original appointment was to trouble-shoot a kitchen light fixture that had stopped working. Once on site, Jesse determined the ballast was bad and discussed options of replacing the ballast or re-wiring the fixture to take LED bulbs. I chose to switch to LED and the work was quickly performed. The work was done as promised with very little disruption of the house. I was very pleased with how the service call worked out and would call Randy's Electric again for other work.

Richard S. with Randy's Electric was very prompt, professional, and efficient! Not only did he install the lighting we needed very quickly, he did a great job and removed the old fixtures and even provided couple of bulbs. He also was able to quickly troubleshoot what was a previously poorly wired light switches that fixed our hallway light! I would highly recommend!

Two men arrived after phoning about 1/2 hour prior. The supervisor assessed the situation and left being assured that the technician, Richard Schoenrock had every thing necessary to proceed. Richard completed the job in a timely fashion. Both men were congenial and wanted to be certain that the job was done well. They inquired if I had any other electrical concerns they could assist with.

They got here last week, they dropped the ball from the time we ordered it they were supposed to call us but they never did so I finally called them and it was no big deal from our stand point cause we weren't in that big a rush anyway but then the guy was here and he did what he was supposed to do. I probably should have been a little more specific with him because he did what I asked him to do but not quite what I would have wanted but I didn't tell him any different so he can't be held responsible for that. The job got done, it didn't get done exactly like I would have wanted it to but I said several times already that's much more my fault than theirs but I thought it was prohibitively expensive and I'll pretty much not ever use him again.
Description of Work: They put in a new outside light over our patio, and that light cost $335 which I thought was exorbitant but that's what they said his rate was so. He brought a new light, it was a nice light but it's not one I would have bought okay but I would not quarrel with him so I do not hold that against him. And the light down in the basement that he took care of it was just replacing the ballast in that fluorescent light.

Service was excellent. Zach was professional, on time / early - clearly understood my request and quickly formulated a quote. Work looks excellent, professionally installed and he was able to get the electrical work up to code (from a previous owners DIY job). Also did a quick assessment of a second job and gave a less expensive option to fix. Cost for these projects always surprises me, but I am glad to have professional work on this installation and trust it was done appropriately. Will use again for important electrical jobs. I got the deal of $99 for $200 of work. I paid an extra $348 on top of the deal (so I got a $550 job for about $450)

I needed to have this changed before the new stove was installed in a couple of days and thought I could have the ceiling fan in one of the rooms replaced (since they charge a trip fee, I wanted to take advantage of it and they were having a deal for 99.00 ceiling fan installation. Richard installed 2 new outlets and the ceiling fan in just under 3 hours. I believed the price to be reasonable but I didn't have much to compare that to because honestly there is something to be said for piece of mind, and confidence in the person doing this kind of work. I am an Angie's List Member and I contacted Randy's Electric via the Angie's List app on a Sunday and received a quick reply from Courtney ON A SUNDAY! They were able to get me on the schedule very quickly. The service is excellent! Richard was actually the electrician who came back to the house again to help with this project. As a female home owner, I have been subject to some companies (particularly a large local company that "specializes" in HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical) taking advantage of my lack of knowledge or understanding but this is not the case with Randy's. Richard walked through my options, offered suggestions and showed me what he had done when he finished. Great service, great company, you will have a customer for life, because lets face it, my house was built in the 40's- this won't be the first time I need electrical help!
Description of Work: I used Randy's Electric once before - basic installation for a ceiling fan and Richard came out to do that in November. Then when I found myself a month later in need of a new stove, and realized that my stove AND fridge were connected to a power strip, which was connected to a 3 prong adaptor, hooked into an ungrounded outlet so I needed some work done to bring the outlet to code.

I had been looking for a go to electrician for my electrical needs (I have an old 1940's house that has all outdated 2 prong outlets) but the more immediate need was the ceiling fan that had just died. First let me say I appreciate that Randy's electric responds to Angie's List messaging. I really like this feature and when I am busy during the work day I want to be able send a message quickly and get a reply when I wouldn't be able to normally call anyone if my day was particularly busy. Courtney was super pleasant and flexible with the scheduling as I unfortunately had to reschedule twice. Anyway Richard came out and installed the ceiling fan and did a great job. He was professional and courteous! The only thing I would have done differently is check the web page for deals because I missed out the first time on the 99.00 ceiling fan install deal. Luckily they are back today for more work and I saw the deal in time for that one!

We had a coupon from Angie's list for $25. My wife didn't have the coupon with her and Joe said, "let's use $200 for now". Which is odd because at that time there was no $200 coupon on the internet. He gave her a quote for about $750 to do 7 GFI's. So this was actually a quote for $950. We decided that is too much money and told him to just replace the bathroom GFI's. The new quote was $250 for the 3 bathrooms. Which was actually $450. I had tested the GFI's the week before. The 3 bathrooms were all connect to one GFI that had an open circuit. The only work that was needed was to replace the GFI in the main bathroom. This would have fixed the GFI's for all 3 bathrooms. It took Joe and his assistant about 20 minutes to put in 3 GFI's. My wife presented the $25 coupon and received a bill for $493. The bill was: $59 trip charge (this should not be charged if work is done as per review from 12/3/2016). $153 for each GFI minus $25 for Angie's list coupon. The bill should have been $153 for replacing 1 GFI. This is the only work that was needed. We called Randy's to complain and they had Joe call and said the work order mentioned a $200 coupon. My wife only mentioned having an Angie's List coupon to the dispatcher. Joe also said that the bathrooms were not protected and he protected them. He would not give further explanation about why each bathroom needed it's own GFI. I would not trust hiring Randy's Electric to do any work in the future.
Description of Work: We had a bad GFI in a bathroom that was noticed during a housing inspection. Joe came out and told my wife that she needed to replace that GFI and add a new one to each of the 2 other bathrooms. He also said that she needed 3 GFI's in the kitchen along a wall across from the sink. They also talked about a GFI in the garage.

Hi- I am so sorry for the confusion on the Angie's List coupons. We recently ran a promotion for $99 for $200 through Angie's List. We waive the trip fee for that deal, not the traditional Angie's List $25 off. I know you were talking with our Operations Manager to come up with a resolution. Please let me know if you feel like there is anything else we can do. Thanks, Courtney Lotzer Randy's Electric 763-560-5600

I was satisfied but electrical is just plain expensive, just him walking through the door, it's just kind of crazy. I got $99 worth of work out of him. They were trying to see if I could get some different kind of lights to go beneath the counter and what they were suggesting for the price was absolutely ridiculous. It was so expensive I never got those lights. I could go to Ikea and get the same thing. I couldn't do that price. They were on time and they called which I appreciated. I didn't have to wait. They brought in catalogs so they can show me different options. I felt confident they knew what they were doing.
Description of Work: It was a big deal purchase. They put in different bulbs for the ceiling in my kitchen. I had these bulbs that were so hot and I needed to get some LED bulbs but they're recessed.

The tech indicated he couldn't work on the porch light without extensive re-wiring, so I did not do that. The $200 service call I got for $99 was about right to fix the mast bracket problem. It took the tech longer to get the ladder out from the truck than to attach the brackets. However, when he checked his price list, it showed $174 to work on a mast problem. So I had to pay an additional $32 over the coupon for the service call that took about 15 minutes. Their breakdown of costs is fairly pricey, compared to the last time I had electrical work done by another provider, which was on a time and materials basis.
Description of Work: I needed a bracket re-attached to the mast above my electric box. I also inquired about re-attaching a porch light.
