Mike determined that I had a couple of faulty detectors & needed to replace all 6 with 10-yr lithium detectors that were now code. He said it would be expensive - and it was! Job was done quickly (30 - 40 mins) & professionally. Charge was $1,313 net of $300 discount. Ouch! As the invoice did not show detail, I called the office next day and asked Julie (Accounting) for equipment vs labor breakdown. Julie referred me to Terry, the Service Manager, because all jobs are priced per project and she did not know the equip/labor breakdown. (I am an accountant, so I thought that was odd). Spoke with Terry & he was able to explain how my particular job was priced. Also explained that I was paying for an electrician - not a handyman - which I understand. In the future, I will keep that in mind.....does my job require an electrician, or do I assume added risk by having it done by a handyman. My choice - my responsibility. This was a "consumer education" experience for me.

Couldn't be happier with them. They used the info. others had found and used their expertise to determine problem and complete the repair.

purchased $200 in electrical services (for half price) and figured it was plenty to install a fan...I was wrong. I normally don't write reviews, but this is the worst pricing I've experienced for any service (electrical, handyman, or otherwise). The charge was an additional $321 to install one fan (total to install a fan of $521 -are you kidding me!!!) Work was great, very professional, but paid about 3x the price for this just because I bought a "discount" on angie's list. I won't use this service again - very professional but extremely overpriced for what was done (change out a switch and remove a pre-existing light fixture and hang a fan in the place where all boxes and wiring already existed). It seemed like there was not really any discount and a surcharge on top of what I paid.

As always - excellent! We may pay more for the work these guys do but when you have a company that doesn't try to 'up-sell' you and works with you around an annual budget to tackle electrical changes / upgrades - they are well worth the investment! Thanks again!

Randy's Electric was great at getting me in within a couple days. They always are. Jeremy was punctual. IPad in hand, he created estimates for four different options on the spot. While I liked the options, some of the other bids were more detailed. I suspect I could get more detail, but am not going to proceed with the job st this time. There are probably less expensive electricians.

They checked every outlet and fix d problem. Was expensive, though.

Great! They even threw in a dimmer switch in the dining room.

Both times we experienced thorough and professional service. Zach & Jared, journeyman electricians, were friendly, listened to us, offered several solutions to fixing our electrical problems. We would stress that their professional attitude and demeanor rated high with us. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. We did use a coupon $99 for $200 worth of electrical work.

I've never hired an electrician before, so I had no idea what to expect in terms of cost. I hired Randy's Electric because I got a coupon through Angie's List that would help with the cost. Joe and Luis were great to work with. There was no pressure to stick to the original plan or to pay for services I did not want. Every option was explained on the original quotes (Joe did two, including one with a whole house breaker system), options were offered to see if we could bring the project closer to my budget, and they were happy to put in the range hood for me instead. We were able to stay in my budget and get a project done that I wasn't sure I could complete on my own. They were polite, looked at the whole project, explained everything in easy to understand language, provided an estimate before work began, made sure everything worked properly, and cleaned up after the work was done.

I didn’t hire them. They were very professional and punctual but the estimate was the highest it could be. I did some research on the web and Home Adviser said the average for these services was between $300-500, with the low end being $80 and the high end being $905. Randy’s Electric came back with a bid of $902. Way overpriced for the work to be done. Very unfortunate.

They did a great job. The had a cancellation and were able to get me taken care of the day I called. They found the bad outlet and replaced it. And they took the time to explain how things work and what they were doing.

Appalling business practices. Theft by swindle came to mind. Power went out on Black Friday. Zach came out and charged $199 "emergency fee" and diagnosed main breaker was arching and sparking. Said that they don't make parts for that 200 amp panel anymore and had to replace the entire thing for... $6000! When I questioned the cost, I was told that I could find someone else if I didn't like the cost but that he wouldn't put a temporary fix in if I did, leaving an arching/sparking breaker in my kid's bedroom through the holiday weekend. I told him I felt backed into a corner, and he (Zach) said, "well, that's what we charge." I told him to do the work (temp reroute to a 40 amp breaker), and he made me sign a $1000 "down payment," and that they'd be back "later in the week, maybe Thursday or Friday" to finish. As I knew I had three days to cancel, I did the following night and demanded an accountable portion of my "down payment" back. I contacted several other electricians who were appalled at the price, and the licensed/bonded contractor I chose replaced the entire thing for $1500 the following Monday (including the permit). He also told me that they DO still make parts for the box, and that I could have just replaced the main breaker, but that because the previous owner had done a shabby job with the wiring, he recommended I replace the entire thing.I waited for a response to my demand letter from Randy's and did not get one. Not even a text back from the tech when I told him I was canceling. I finally called on Tuesday, and they agreed to give me a portion of my "down payment" back (charged $338 for 40 minutes of work and a 40 amp breaker), and then told me that they cared about me.

All went well. Was hoping they could fix the one we had but it was not repairable so they replaced it with ease.

Dale and Guy from Randy's were so great! They came out to give a quote and got started right away. We just bought a house and had a laundry list of items we needed done. The technicians were honest about the cost of the work and we worked together to stay within our budget. One thing that really impressed me was that they caught the fact that our deck lighting was wired incorrectly and not up to code. (Something our inspector did not catch.) We were worried about the cost of having to re-wire everything, however, they helped us walk through the financing options and we were able to select a plan that worked for us. I'm so glad we did this, because upon removing the old wiring from the deck, we found that the wiring had already started on fire at least twice because someone put nails through it. The fact that I know our home is safe is worth it. Dale and Guy had to come out a few times to accomplish everything on our list (we even added to it by the end) and were both so professional and efficient. I would highly recommend Randy's electric to anyone and will use them in the future for other projects we have in mind.

Dan and his partner hand dug roughly 40 feet of trenching and used a power trenching machine for the other 60 feet. The digging was done in some poor November weather and the work took a day and a half. We are very pleased with the professionalism, punctuality, communication, and quality of work. Would recommend Randy's to others.
