Great service...Grant and Taven were professional and efficient. Provided great counsel and numerous ideas for upgrades. Would definitely hire this team again.
Description of Work: Rewired lighting fixtures in the house and changed out wall switches, replaced a lighting can outside and repaired an outdoor spotlight. Also, asked them to evaluate the replacement of our 20 year old lighting cans throughout the house and some additional outdoor fixtures.

All went well except that he was unable to link my built-in auto remote to the installed switch (difference in frequencies). The switch came with its own remote and that will work.

I was told that the electricians would come between 8-9. They arrived at 9:10. They worked until 4:00 and finished the job. I believe that the job is well done. I mentioned my concern around a tear they made on my wall by the unit they installed. They made light of it stating it wouldn't be noticeable. It IS noticeable. I asked if the area behind my dryer (where they worked) was cleaned up as I mentioned early on that I would appreciate that. It was not. Also the area they worked outside on, the patio, to change the electric gauge etc. had a mess left behind with screws strewn in varied places, pieces of paint, pieces of my roof etc. I expected these things would be taken care of considering the cost of the entire job.

The work went very well. Rob explained things thoroughly and completed the work in one day. We had initially just want a light fixture and switch added but ended up with a lot of extra rewiring because the house is old and there were issues with the old wiring. I did not feel like they did anything other than what was necessary. It was great working with him and we would use Randy's Electric again in a minute!

It took about an hour, and they were very polite and professional. I should have known better than to hire without any sort of up-front quote or idea of the price of service, but we were without an oven or another option that wouldn't have required another few days at least.

I was very unhappy with Randy's Electric. I was having problems getting power to my bathroom light. The repairman told me by law he couldn't fix the issue due to outdated wiring, even after paying a $354 "troubleshooting" fee that he "guaranteed" would find the source of the problem, which he didn't. This was in addition to a $60 trip fee. Then he proceeded to give me an estimate for $6,800 to rewire the entire 2nd floor of my house. Needless to say, even if I end up deciding to have the work done, you can bet I won't be using Randy's to do it. The next electrician I called - Snelling Electric - not only diagnosed but fixed the problem for $300.

Hi [Member Name Removed]. Thank you for the feedback in addition to your call with our Service Manager. Knob and Tube wiring is risky business and there are many steps that must be followed to insure safety. During our troubleshoot we discovered that the problem was intertwined with your knob and tube wiring. In order to fix this kind of problem correctly, the outdated wiring must be updated or it presents a huge risk to you and the integrity of the home. The major concern is attempting to fix existing knob and tube wiring without upgrading it. We hope that the next electrician you had out was able to safely find a long-term solution to your problem.

During a recent rainstorm, we checked our panel box and found that we had water sitting on and leaking around our breakers. We called and Randys responded promptly. Tom was thorough, professional, and friendly. He identified several areas where water was getting in and discussed with us the hazards of corroded breakers (and they were clearly corroded), water sitting on the breakers, and the potential remedies. We decided to replace the entire panel plus the leaking box that held the meter and Tom worked to expidite the extensive project for the next day. Project included shut off of power for entire day with Tom and Nick in and out of the house all day replacing outside box and inside panel with as little disruption to us as possible. Tom kept us updated on progress, encouraged our questions and welcomed our checking in on the work as it progressed. It was as pleasant as a day with workers in and out of your house could be. Plus, since the power was already out and they were here all day, we had asked to add in some of those small electric projects in the house that often never get done. They completed all of them including some undercabinet lighting in a snack area which looks fantastic. Cant stress enough how professional and respectful of our home they were.

Everything went well. I was very impressed with the gentleman who came to give us the quote. He was also the one who did the work, along with the apprentice. They were quick to come and give us the original estimate and to do the work. They were very professional. Only complaint was the pricing. It was a bit high, but it is worth it to know that the electrical outlets/boxes were installed correctly, by a reputable company.

The worst excuse for an honest tradesman that I have ever encountered. Two guys show up to do a 1-man job; a journeyman electrician and an apprentice. When I called to complain about the charges, Randy's manager told me that I wasn't charged for the apprentice, yet the journeyman told me that I was. If I wasn't charged for the new-be apprentice, then I wound up paying $400 / hour for the journeyman. The fee was RIDICULOUS, but on a cold day I needed my furnace. On top of the obscene charges, when they left they admitted that they weren't sure the A/C would work come summer, because they weren't sure about the wiring when they poked around in the furnace. I would NEVER call Randy's again !!

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad that we were able to get your furnace and thermostat rewired and working again, especially in this cold time of the year. We are so sorry that you felt like you had an awful experience and your expectations were not met. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that standard was not met in your interaction with our business. Here at Randy's Electric we choose to give upfront, fair pricing based on the work that needs to be completed when our licensed electrician is at the home. This allows pricing that is consistent from customer to customer and is not influenced but the amount of people or time needed to complete the job safely. With the furnace and A/C being two separate units, we are not able to guarantee anything with the A/C as the work completed was focused on the furnace issue. We are sorry you feel the work was too expensive. We do have a lifetime warranty on our workmanship and only use quality parts. We are not the least expensive, but we are also not the most expensive out there. Please accept our apology for leaving you feeling far less than satisfied and very disappointed. Your safety and happiness are our number one priority.

Randy's Electric took advantage of my elderly mother! My mother just spent 5 weeks in the hospital on life support. When she was released and arrived home she was experiencing problems with her electricity in her kitchen and bathroom the lights were flickering and then the power went out. She called and scheduled an electrician with Randys electric to come out and fix the problem. When the electrician arrived the next day he started scaring the **** out of her telling her it could be a major problem and cost as much as $18,000 to rewire her entire condo (Its 1 level and 950 square feet). He also said the problem could be the circuit breaker panel that needed to be replaced and that would cost her $14,000. He then said that if he performed a circuit restoration and replaced 4 power outlets, replaced 2 other power outlets in kitchen with GFCI outlets, replaced the 2 light switches in the bathroom, replaced the chandelier in the dining room with a led recessed light and replaced the 2 florescent tube light fixtures in the kitchen with two 2x2 led light panels. He said he was confident it would fix her problem. He then told her that it would only cost her $3,300 to do (Made it sound like a bargain after the other 2 prices he gave her). She then said she can't afford that and he told her not to worry because they have a 1 year interest free financing plan. She wasn't happy but felt it was the cheapest option of the options he gave her so she reluctantly agreed to do it. He spent 5-6 hours there and he left. 2 days later her lights began to flicker and the power in the kitchen and bathroom went out again. When she told me what happened I called Randys irate! The lady on the phone took my info and said she would have the manager call me. 2 hours later I get a call from the electrician trying to convince me he dint screw over my mother. I told him to have his manager call me. Needless to say no one has tried to call me since. We called another electrician contractor (no way we were calling Randys again). They arrived within 2 hours. When he got there I explained to him the entire situation and he went to the circuit breaker panel. Within 5 minutes he said your problem is the outside power coming into her condo. He went outside and within another 5 minutes found that a dual 100 amp breaker was the problem. He was there for around an hour and charged less than $150 to fix the problem once and for all. I then showed him the work Randys did and asked him how much they would charge. He said about $700-800 total not $3,300. I also asked him what they would charge if she needed a new circuit breaker panel and he said $1,200 at the most not $14,000 like Randys quoted. He said in all his years he has never seen someone get it so wrong. I question if the guy from Randys is even an electrician. Where did he get his license? A cracker jack box?? Randys electric is by far the worst and the most cold hearted company I have ever heard of. The electrician (thats questionable) knew that my mom just got out of the hospital (she almost died) and all he was concerned with is screwing her out of money and up-selling her. He's probably on a commission and sold her crap she didn't need or even want. Randy's Electric should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know how they sleep at night!!! Below is a pic of the breaker the (real electrician) replaced. Look at the rust and corrosion.

Tom told it like it was, given the house is 100-years old & the circuit breaker panel is at least 40-years old. He gave us options & helped to make decisions for now & in the future. We are confident Tom did not mislead us in any way. Thank you for getting our electricity/heat up & running when it was a bone-chilling -20°F outside!
