It went great! We first had Randy out to correct an circuit that had a short (was at the circuit breaker) and to provide an estimate a number of items. We were very pleased with his professionalism and knowledge in reviewing the electrical system in our 50+ yr old house. He pointed out some items that a previous electrician had configured incorrectly. We reviewed a list of items we wanted done, and using Randy's Electric straight-forward pricing chart, were able to price out exactly the cost of each item we wanted addressed, and schedule a date later that same week. While working, he was willing to work with us concerning our very young children's naps, working in areas less likely to wake them during those times.
Description of Work: Randy installed a combination fan/light into one bathroom including attaching venting and wiring a 3-way switch, isolated a bathroom outlet (that was previously switched/shared with the light switch), wired an outdoor light with indoor switch, installed an indoor light with switch, and updated 3 kitchen outlets to GFCI. Our house is a 1954 stucco home with various challenges.

Randy's Electric is fantastic. I had left a message on a Sunday when half of the power went out in our house, due to my attempts at wiring a light fixture in myself. He called me back on Labor Day to set up an appointment! He would have been able to actually come the next day, but I had to be at a meeting. He was very pleasant, helpful, and professional on the phone. When he arrived I explained the problems and he listened. Randy's Electric uses a pricing structure for services which I think is a great idea. Every type of work falls into a set price category, which Randy showed me before he started the work. I have used other electrical companies that do not do this and you never really know how much it will end up being. Randy then installed the fixtures and was completely familiar with the wiring nuances of an old house. It was a pleasure to have him there - he was professional, polite and answered all of my questions. I will use this company again.
Description of Work: Randy wired in a flush mount kitchen ceiling light fixture that had shorted out and burnt some of the wires. He also installed a ceiling fan in the dining room.

I don't think the electrician, John, and I started off on the right foot. I called to get an estimate, and I told him that I have Wednesdays free-so he could pick a time, so he asked if he could come between 3-5pm. I said, uh, no can you make it more specific, I have things to do, & possible OT. I don't think I should have to wait around like we have to do for the cable guy. He changed it to b/tween 3-4. He arrived at 3:05pm. We talked about what I wanted and we got along ok, but at the end, with my vaulted ceiling and getting access to the attic, I showed him the attic entrance and we pretty much bickered about whether or not the attic had access to the back of my condo unit.I called my condo office while he was here and they assured me that there is a walkway up there to use. He still didn't agree. He wanted to talk personally to another person. I just said I didn't want to argue anymore-and gave him my condo office's ph #. . He is a nice guy-and knows his electrician duties.
Description of Work: I wanted to have 2 ceiling fans/lights installed, to move a bathroom light fixture over to the right, to exchange out another light fixture, and to have some sort of lighting in the vaulted ceiling living room. This was an estimate that I was requesting. I just had him over, so I don't know what the estimate is yet.

I'M REALLY SORRY FOR THIS MISUNDERSTANDING. MY ESTIMATOR, JIM, WENT OVER TO LOOK AT THIS SITUATION. I WILL NOT DO THIS AGAIN-SEND AN ESTIMATOR FOR A LITTLE JOB LIKE THIS. WE COME TO YOUR HOUSE FOR $59- WITH AN ELECTRICIAN READY TO DO THE JOB. THE ELECTRICIAN WILL GIVE YOU A PRICE WHEN WE ARE STANDING THERE LOOKING AT IT WITH YOU, AND THEN WE CAN MAKE AN INTELLIGENT DECISION. WE ONLY SEND AN ESTIMATOR WHEN IT IS A BIG JOB, LIKE WIRING A NEW HOUSE. OTHERWISE, THE INCONVENIENCE OF TWO TRIPS, AND ESTIMATORS WHO MAY NOT KNOW HOW THE HOUSE IS BUILT, ARE TOO MUCH OF A PROBLEM. WE WANT EVERY CONTACT A CUSTOMER HAS WITH US TO BE FRIENDLY AND GRACIOUS, NOT UNCOMFORTABLE. THE MEMBER REALLY WANTED A FREE ESTIMATE, SO WE SENT JIM, WHO DOES SOME ESTIMATING FOR ME. HE HAS BEEN IN THE FIELD FOR 60! YEARS. I'M GUESSING THAT THEY JUST MISCOMMUNICATED. I WISH THE MEMBER HAD CALLED ME, AND I WOULD HAVE WORKED THIS OUT WITH HER.

Got off on the right foot early on when we were still collecting bids on doing our project -- Paul Spadafora actually called us back! (Unlike too many other contractors.) He contained to be available, communicative and reliable to the very end of the job. His knowledge, experience, fairness and cost-consciousness were all impressive. His crew of workers was very skilled, hard-working, accommodating to requested tweaks to the design of our steps and walk and considerate. We are entirely satisfied with the end result! We have received many comments from our neighbors on the quality of the workmanship of our driveway and steps and how quickly it was all done (about 5 days). We would be very happy to recommend Spadafora & Co. -- and have.

I had installed a new ceiling fan and couldn't get it to work after checking and rechecking the wiring, all the outlets and other switches on the circuit. After reading reviews on Angie's List, I called Randy on Monday and left a message. He called me back very quickly and said his scheduling person would be calling me back to set up an appointment. She called back quickly as well. I was able to get an appointment the next day. Brent showed up on time and was very polite and took off his shoes before taking a look at the job (he didn't have to, but that was nice). He told me up front what the costs would be before starting any work. Turns out it was something simple, the switch itself was bad. Brent replaced it quickly and left no mess. I also had a question about putting a light into a closet. He explained to me what would need to be done and how much it would cost. I plan to call them in the future for that job. Great experience overall.

I had a power failure in the middle of the night. I called Randy on a Sunday morning and he got back to me in 15 minutes. He tried to diagnose the problem over the phone before coming to the house. He came when he said he would come and he was very clear about the price and what would be involved. I could not ask for anything better.

Extremely well, he was able to fit me very quickly and was able to work around the other people I had in for some big remodeling in the kitchen. He had the correct equipment, was extremely knowledgeable and proficient in his work. He finished the job in a very timely manner and am extremely satisfied and confident in his work and his suggestions. He also is a very patient and a good person to work with, I would recommend him for any project size.
Description of Work: Removed old fluorescent lights, installed new canned lighting in kitchen. Replaced old baseboard heaters, replaced 6 old thermostats, replaced numerous outlets and light switches, installed light dimmer. In bathroom installed new outlet and brought current outlets up to code to GFI. In garage removed old fluorescent light fixtures and installed 9 new lights, replaced broken outlets. Added additional outlets and garage door outlet and mounted new covered electrical box on outside of house.

Randy and his helper were great. Came when they said they were, and if they had a problem, they proactively called and made appropriate arrangements. All the work was done exceptionally well. We have an older home with many challenges, but it didn't seem to baffle them a bit, as it had other electricians I've had in before. The cost was very fair. We will have them back when we do more work.
Description of Work: Put garage on separate circuit and put in garage shop light, added garage outlets, added new kitchen light, new kitchen outlets, switches, added outlets to finished basement, added switch and wall outlet to laundry, added 3 outside outlets. Put in ceiling fan with heat lamp in Bathroom and vented through roof, put in new smoke alarm, added additional wall switch to bedroom, changed out several old switches and outlets in livingroom.

I CALLED THE MEMBER IN RESPONSE TO THIS POSTING. I LET THEM KNOW THAT I DISAGREE WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING THEY SAID. THE PRICE IS NOT WHAT WE WERE PAID, BUT WHAT ANOTHER COMPANY CHARGED FOR OUR SERVICE. THE ELECTRICIAN DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF WIRING THE OPENER. HE DID LEAVE A CARD AND WHEN HE ASKED ABOUT CLEAN-UP, THEY TOLD HIM NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT, THAT THEY WOULD CLEAN UP. PERHAPS THEY HAD A MISUNDERSTANDING AT THAT POINT. WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON EXCELLENT SERVICE AND PROFESSIONAL WORKMANSHIP. I WISH THAT THE MEMBER HAD CALLED ME RIGHT AWAY TO RESOLVE THERE ISSUES.
