Randy's Electric

I had bought an Angie's List Big Deal for Randy's Electric ($200 for $77) because I started to replace an overhead light fixture with a ceiling fan in my daughter's room and got scared off when I saw the tangle of wire in the electric box. We had a few other projects, so I just looked up deals on Angie's List and picked one that went with a highly rated company. (Spoiler alert, this was a good decision!). Scheduling was a little frustrating. When I called the earliest appointment they offered was nearly two weeks out. This was really disappointing given that I had wires now dangling from my ceiling, but it turns out I don't control time so whatever. Two weeks. The Monday morning of my appointment rolled around and Randy's called to say that they wouldn't be able to get anyone out to me because they were still responding to a lot of power outage calls from folks who lost power during the storms. Sucky. And the next appointment they offered was another week and a half from my cancelled date. I was generally expect to get on a schedule sooner when a company cancels. But I had already bought the deal, so it didn't make sense to just call it off and find someone else. In the end though, we had a really wonderful electrician (Dale!) who came out to our home this morning. He walked through the house with me while I rambled about all the things I would like to do and wrote up a quote for everything. It was more than we wanted to spend at the moment and would have required another day or two, so I prioritized our new ceiling fans and an outdoor outlet. Dale ended up giving me some pointers (and reassurance) on the ceiling fans so I could just put them up myself and he installed the outdoor outlet box for us. I feel like we got a three-for-one because I was able to install two ceiling fans with some coaching and the box went in! I even called him after he left to ask one more question about putting the fans in. Dale was really wonderful and we would absolutely hire Randy's Electric again and request Dale. Despite a rough start with scheduling, the service that was preformed was impeccable and Dale was friendly, professional, and helpful.

They take out $49 of the $200 for just coming out, which just leaves $151 for the service. I just don't feel like this is a good deal for me. They came a little late, right before I had to leave. I really wanted to be there for the work that they were doing. All they ended up doing was putting up two light fixtures - that is expensive for two light fixtures.

Able to schedule within a reasonable amount of time. Person who did the work was knowledgable and efficient. Also ended up discussing concerns with smoke detectors and CO2 detectors while he was here; we ended up replacing outdated models. It was nice to get it all done at once and not have to reschedule for additional work. We have used them in the past and will use them again.

I purchased a Big Deal for $75 to install a light fixture from Randy's Electric back in May. I knew there would be an extra charge for our fixture since the ceiling is over 10 ft. tall. When I called to ask what the extra charge would be, the woman I talked to said she couldn't tell me, that every job is different, and she was not an electrician, so she had no way of knowing. From the wording of the deal, I expected some sort of flat fee per footage over 10 ft, my bad for assuming! I also did not expect a $49 travel fee since we are in the area Randy's services. When I stated my concern about the fee, I was told there was ALWAYS a travel fee, even if you lived in their service area. I was also told the $75 voucher would not cover the travel fee, and that if I wanted an estimate, I would still have to pay the $49 fee. The fine print in the voucher says there MAY be a travel fee. Sadly, too misleading for my taste, so I have requested a refund of my voucher.

The electrician that completed the work, David, was extremely professional and did a great job communicating his progress during the job. He informed me if he found areas of concern and was able to address those areas right then and there. He was respectful of keeping the home clean while he completed his work too. I would fully recommend Randy's Electric to anyone!

Randy's electric did a great job because I live in a steal and cement constructed building where there are no light fixtures in the ceiling of any room. They had to use conduit up the wall and across the ceiling to the center from an electrical outlet. They did it in a very timely fashion. Even though it was costly, the fan looks beautiful. It has a light with dimmer, remote control, is extremely quiet and I use it all the time.

I liked that my options were described clearly and understandably. Work was done well and clean up was great.

I purchased the service through an Angie's List deal; however, I had to pay more because I wanted them to install a ceiling fan in a location where no light fixture or ceiling fan previously existed. The electrician who came to my home was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. Overall, he represented the company well and I was happy with the work he completed. The work quality met my expectations and I haven't had any issues to date. My only complaint is that the ceiling fan installation cost more then expected.

o He was over two hours late and I had to call to see if he was still going to be here. I did get a call back telling me he was running late. that was okay but I don't understand why I wasn't informed voluntarily by the vendor. He did install the fan but did not mount it in the manner requested. I am going to have one of my sons to change it for me. I did ask for a quote on something else and felt it was quite high. He also tried to convince me to replace my entire breaker box at what I considered to be a very large cost. The total cost to me for the service call was $69 for the big deal plus a trip charge & small misc. costs of $161.75, which made the total cost to me $230.75 which was twice the original cost of the fan and it was a well known brand The electrician was a very nice young man. He was very pleasant and I realize he was doing his job regarding the quotes he gave me. If I had known there was an additional trip charge and the approximate cost I probably would not have purchased the Big Deal. Next time I will choose a vendor closer to me.

Randy's electric installed a whole home surge protector in our home without issue. Work was performed on time and there were no additional expenses.

It went well and the technician was respectful. They kept us in the loop on what they were doing. They did a thorough job in regards to the deal.

Went very well. Cindy on the phone was great to work with and helped juggle their schedule to get our job to the top of the list. Brent and his colleague worked hard and did a great job explaining the options and making a recommendation. Solid all the way around.

Everything was completed, My only comment is that the $77.00 for $200.00 coupon we purchased didn't state that the service call of $49.00 was not included. I think it needs to be clearly stated that the $77.00 was not a part of the service call. When the serviceman called Randy's to clarify this, they told him not to charge us.

Sean the electrician was on times listened to what i wanted gave suggestions did the approved work cleaned up after was do. Excellent !!!

They're expensive. He installed the light and the light switch but he wouldn't hook the light switch where we really wanted it, it would be too hard. He did quality work but it was distant against it. It wasn't what I had in my mind. They came out at 5 and so that's why I'm trying to figure out cause they came out to fix somebody else's mistake cause I knew they can do it.

They did what they said they would but they were a little bit too professional and a little bit too fast. They billed for a couple of extra things. They were a very busy company and so they were very in a rush. It just seemed like they were one, two, three and out the door but they did the job and did it well. Their price was also good.

He arrived on time for our appointment and provided an estimate for the full project. He was very polite and professional but I went with another company that had a better bid.

It went very well! He was super nice, professional, respectful of our home and kids. Cleaned up after each step.

They were great. Randy's Electric did a great job.

I was honestly very impressed. I'd read all the positive comments here, but didn't quite know what to expect and always have a healthy dose of skepticism. From the time I made the appointment to the initial consultation with Randy's and through the repairs this morning, I was extremely impressed! The guys came in, I walked them through the issues I needed resolved, and they did an audit too of all the things that I should have done before we sell our house next spring. They worked with me on the financing, as having had little experience with electrical repairs, I had no idea what to expect for cost. I love the fact that they wrote up the other projects that needed to be done and gave me a bid on those. I can guarantee I will be using them for those repairs too because they did such a phenomenal job and were very professional!

We purchased a $99 big deal. We just needed what the deal was. They were quick. They did it and they were done. The whole thing was like literally twenty-minutes to finish. They were very efficient.

This didn't turn out so great. They were trying to repair one thing and had to put a hole in the wall that was hard to fix.

Appointment was scheduled for a week out, but they had a cancellation the next day, and were able to come out and repair my issue. They were prompt and courteous, and the work was completed quickly.
