What we wanted to do was too expensive so we did not go ahead. They were very clear about the options but we just could not afford them.

I have worked with a couple of other electricians in the past - and Randy's service was far above their level of competence. They were prompt, courteous, got the job done right, and I am very satisfied.

I was not satisfied with Randy's Electric. Every time we buy a coupon, they try to be tricky. It says a specific amount for a specific time. Then they say certain things cannot be done. We try to tell them what we are doing, and they charge us sky high. We had them replace 4 smoke detectors and they charged $475. It only takes them less than one hour to do it. Time wise they are good, they are punctual. My one problem with them was the price. Sometimes I think they are not reasonable. I've used them four times and the first two times were okay. When I talk to their front desk, sometimes it's different from what the price the technician tells me. They are licensed and they know what they are doing, for their knowledge it's not worth it. We will not use them again in the future.

Estimator arrive considerably later than expected. Provided estimate including fuel surcharge, service call, inspection, etc., totaling $1848 plus the $949 for the electrical panel swap big deal. It also included $300 for a kitchen gfi outlet which we had asked asked for. I had a different contractor do the job on 7/10, which went great. I cancelled the service apt with Randy's and applied for a big deal refund. A few days later I got a call from the estimator asking why I was cancelling. I informed him the job was done

Could not identify the cause of the dead outlet so I gave permission for him to cut holes in the wall to rewire the outlet. I expected them to correct the outlet for the $99 but I did in all fairness say yes to the extensive correction.

Scott was very upfront about the possibilities for the job, whether or not it could be done successfully with what was in the ceiling. After he got the light fixture down, he said it could be done, very quickly got the fan in, and it worked the first time! He was very neat and did not leave any mess; he even took the box the fan came in away with him! I am thrilled with how it looks and how it works--I will absolutely use them again if I need any electrical work!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The fellow was very nice, he explained everything very nicely, what are the things he will be charging for. But then for going on all the time and explaining constantly, he didn't finish the work. I think that the bill was too high for what he had to do. He was responsive to everything.

My experience with them was a little weird. I think they did a very good work. It was a lot more than I expected it to be, but because of the inspection, they found several things that they needed to do. What was strange was that after the appointment, he wanted me to pray with him because they were a spiritual organization of some kind. I was just like surprised. So, I would not call them again despite the fact that they did good work, and it was more than I expected it to be, but without comparing it to others, I cannot say that it was overpriced. It is just that you get kind of hook in with the big deal. They do the inspection and go here and say that they will do this and that. They did, but it seemed like a lot for something minimal that I would not consider fixing electrical work, but just installing a few things or replacing a couple of things. The big deal was for $99 and I paid above and beyond that. In terms of the price, I do not want to say that it was really above and beyond or they screwed me but to me, yes, to install a light that cost $25 and they charge me. They are just doing this stuff, and they kind of mentioned prices, but for a smoke and carbon monoxide detector for $350 alone, no. We just wanted them out of here. He had an assistant with him. I do not know if they charge that way too. I would say that they were pretty responsive.
Description of Work: Randy’s Electric did a whole house electrical inspection and replaced the batteries of several of the smoke detectors, wired a J-box, installed a light, installed a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and added ground fault interrupters.

It took awhile to get scheduled. Randy's Electric cancelled a couple of times. They called to cancel but then I told them I have been rescheduled a few times and I was just going to get a refund then they decided that they had room. They came out and the work was fine when they finally came out. They were going to send out somebody who hasn't worked in the field for awhile. They are somebody that I wouldn't go to use again but they're not mean. It took over a month for them to finally come out. It was just one of those things that I didn't really had a lot of confidence in them. They were nice people but it just seemed like they do not have it together.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon for $99 for troubleshooting and repair of one electrical issue. I am happy that I took advantage of this great deal! Dale from Randy's Electric provided one of the best service experiences I have had. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable. Dale listened to my concerns, explained exactly what he was doing and why, fixed the issues quickly, and made additional recommendations without pushing to have additional work done. Fantastic customer service! Randy's Electric is a first-rate, honest, genuine company, and they have won a new customer. I will definitely use them for my future electrical needs.

I called Randy's because I wanted to have an outlet installed in my basement that would accommodate a new electric dryer. I previously had agas dryer. When I called Randy's, I asked how much this service might cost so that I would know if purchasing their current Big Deal would be worth it. The woman I talked to had no idea, so I scheduled a service call anyway. When the electrician arrived he told me that it would cost 600.00. This clearly would not be an economical choice as it would practically cost as much as a new dryer. The electrician had a laminated sheet with the standard cost for this service in large print. At this point, I was really annoyed. Why could the scheduling person not have let me know what the standard price was and then give some sort of disclaimer that the cost might vary depending on the circumstance. So, this meant that I had to pay Randy's 49.00 for a service call, basically to get an estimate that easily could have been given over the phone. That said, the electrician that came was very professional and sympathetic about the problem.

Everything you would expect from a service provider. Especially liked the fact that the electrician took the time to explain what issues he was encountering and he made sure I signed off on his estimates before proceeding with any work. I will use these guys again.

Joe and Joel arrived and provided a detailed quote for the cost of the work I requested. They explained everything and then started working immediately. Originally I called them to replace the main electrical panel and add a whole house surge protector and I also had other wiring requests which became a large second project. Both Joe and Joel are honest and trustworthy workers. Very professional. I didn't have to worry about anything. The job was done correctly and efficiently. I am now a loyal Randy's Electric customer. They are the only company I will call.

The work that was done was fine, but I was a little uncomfortable with the approach of the person doing the work. He came in saying he would also be looking for any possible code violations that needed fixing, so I felt like he was trying to up-sell additional services. I had purchased an Angie's list deal for $69, worth $200 of services. He pulled out a laminated price chart and I felt like he was doing a presentation as he explained that $200 would just cover the cost of switching out two ceiling fixtures and that he would need to add a $69 service charge that he said was disclosed with the deal, but would waive the fuel surcharge. I happened to have a printout of the original offer and it did not mention anything about a service charge, so as soon as I pointed this out, he waived that too. At his suggestion, I agreed to have him route existing wiring through a 2x4 instead of sitting alongside it, to a light switch in my unfinished laundry room for an additional $47 because he said it would need to be done if I ever wanted to finish that room. All the work took about 45 minutes and he finished by leaving a lighted pen that pointed at a message about Jesus alongside the bill. This is the reason I would probably not hire them again.

I am so pleased that I am writing this review but a couple hours since the service was performed. I am very grateful.
Description of Work: David installed an outdoor outlet for our home. From my first call to the company to today's appointment, I have been impressed. They quickly scheduled the work, I received a heads-up call beforehand, the electrician, David, was on time, friendly, efficient and in addition, added another component to our service without extra charge. How amazing is that! The company has a chart detailing the costs of their jobs so you know they are above-board. Overall I could not ask for more! Happy Happy Happy!

He gave me an estimate of over $978 for repairs he thought needed to be done. I told him I was not at all interested and asked him to leave. It seemed incredibly excessive to ask over $500 for two outlets to be installed.

The only reason I'm not giving Randy's A's all-around is because the electrician accidentally dropped a metal plate on my dining room table leaving some dings and scratches -- but keep reading -- this story has a happy ending! The installations were done by two very professional, articulate, knowledgeable electricians. The living room installation was heavy and complicated, and they did a beautiful job strategically placing the new fixture to cover the previous fixture hole so I would not need to do plaster repair work. As for the table, minutes after the damage occurred, the electrician handed me his cell phone to speak with their customer service department about reparations. They took full responsibility. Randy's kept in constant contact with me as I hired a furniture repair person and got an estimate for repair cost. Upon receipt of the repair estimate Randy's immediately mailed me a check to cover the cost, which was $250, and my table is fine now. Accidents happen -- what matters is how a company responds. I will not hesitate to hire them again.
