Overall, it went well. I had initiated the call for the being fan installation for 75.00 and knew there was a charge for bringing the old fan down. However, Dave pushed hard to do other work, wanting to put in a combo smoke/CO2 detector. I needed a switch light repaired so agreed to that , but that was $200 more. The quality of the work was good, but I felt like the "deal" gave them entree to try to do more work.

Very well. The experience from booking to completion was excellent. Joe the electrician arrived as scheduled, scoped out the situation, provided a quote, and did the work in excellent fashion. He even asked if I had an Angie's List coupon, prompting me to print one out - I really appreciated that. I also appreciate the values the company has, being a faith-based company, and the electrician left behind a little card in a non-threatening manner that described his past and how his life changed. Very cool.

I used a Big Deal coupon, so the service was affordable for all that I had done. However, I rated Randy's a B on price as if I had not had the coupon, it would have been more spendy. The company was very responsive, and got me scheduled for service within a day or two. Sean was on time, professional, courteous and suggested a couple of additional repairs/changes to improve safety, without being a "hard sell." All in all a great experience. I would definitely use Randy's again.

My experience with Randy's Electric did not go really great. Their company really doesn't communicate with each other, because the lady over the phone was telling me what I wanted done was completely under the $200.00 Big Deal that I purchased for $77.00. Then when he came out here, he told me it would be $550.00. I said, "With the Angie's Big Deal?" and he said, "Oh, you have that?" It's like he totally didn't know. He didn't want to stay and do the job when he found out. He was like, it's almost 3:00 and he wanted to take off. I made him stay. My boyfriend helped him and it still took them forever and they ended up making a hole in my wall, because they couldn't get the wiring up to the light switch. My boyfriend had already done a lot of the work. It was pretty much just bringing it in through the outer wall and then getting it wired in. He was very nice. He took $75.00 off, for my boyfriend helping. He took $200.00 off because of the Big Deal. Maybe the lady I talked to over the phone misspoke, but I still feel that when he said it would be $550.00, he had just pulled that money out of the air. It took him a really long time and I thought it shouldn't have, if he really knew what he was doing. He should have known there was an outlet below the switch and that's why he couldn't get the wire up to it. I think they fooled around with that for a long time, before they cut a hole in my wall. I still have the hole in the wall. He was nice and got it done, but I felt like he thought I was being unreasonable, that I wanted it actually done, when it was scheduled. I left work early to be there for him, and then he was going to reschedule with me? No. I want it done. They give you a range of time in which they're going to show up, between 1:00 and 3:00, and he pretty much got there a little before 3:00. He called me about a half hour before he showed up, which is good. I still took off work to be there at 1:00, in case he got there right at 1:00.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's Big Deal to some outside lights wired to a switch by my patio door. I paid more than the initial price of the Big Deal. I really felt like it was a bait and switch. Maybe I might have expected a little bit more, if the lady in the office hadn't told me it was what they would consider well within a $200.00 job. He probably came out about three or four weeks after I purchased the Big Deal.

Scott finished his prior appt ahead of schedule, so he called to see if he could come early. I was already home, so that worked great for me. After evaluating the situation, he went to work. First he removed the old electric box. Then he installed a new fan-rated box and the ceiling fan. Before I knew it, he was done. He vacuumed up the dust/drywall that fell from the ceiling, leaving the carpet cleaner than when he arrived. Not even a slight wobble in the fan, even when it's on high. Good job Scott. Good job Randy's Electric

It was good. We paid an additional $250. The guy showed up on time and then he had to go up into the attic in a real tight space and it was probably over 100 degrees up in the attic. He just went ahead and did it and got it done so we could get our air conditioner working again.

I called Randy's because I was moving out of my rented home and wanted to keep the fixtures I had Randy's put up for me before. There was a"trainee" along, who, had there not been two guys, I would have never known he was new! They were efficient and friendly. They were even starting to rehang each of the crystals on the old chandelier until I told them I would take care of it! :-) I will most likely use them again in the future provided there's an Angie's List coupon - all electricians are pricey, so as a new homeowner, I need all the discounts I can get. But overall, Randy's is top notch!

We got the Angie's list to have a ceiling fan installed for $75. I didn't read the small print and didn't realize it comes with an extra "trip fee" of $49. However, our guy was half an hour late and was willing to waive the trip fee and extra cost associated with the remote control with the ceiling fan. It looks good and works well. We were able to get the appt scheduled quickly and the reminder phone call was helpful.

Today Scott was here and replaced a previously unsafe wall plug-in box and a new unit for a light bulb in the ceiling. Very professionally done. I'd recommend Scott for any electrical work in a heartbeat. The last time Dave was here and really did work to make my house a lot safer because so many of my wall sockets had old, sometimes disabled wiring. I feel my house is a lot safer electrically speaking than it was before these two electricians came.
Description of Work: Actually I have had Randy's Electric to my home twice......today and a few months ago. Today I just needed some upgrading on lights and a wall plug in box in the basement for a new dehumidifier.. The last time Randy's electricians were here for a long time replacing all the wiring in each wall socket (where things are plugged in.)

I'm only giving Randy's an A rating because there isn't a higher grade to give. Seriously, what a wonderful experience! I had a lot of questions that Dale very patiently and thoroughly answered. My home is very old and I expect the cost to be high to replace the old knob and tube wiring, but Dale talked me through it to help me come up with a plan that makes sense logistically, works in other repairs and plans I have for my house, and that could save me a lot of money in the long run. He was also friendly toward my dog, which is really important to me when I think of having someone in my house to perform a service. Finally, I feel good about a company when it's obvious their employees love working there. I definitely got that impression! I am happy to support a local company that so clearly supports their employees and will definitely be using Randy's again.

The technicians were on time, knowledgeable and professional. We talked about a number it issues I was looking at fixing including light switches that were not working correctly and outlets where the cords fell out of the outlet. They were able to give me an on site estimate for future work I may want to have done. I was a little surprised at the $50 fee just to come out, but that was my fault for not checking before I purchased the certificate. They did a good job and cleared up after they were done.

I actually needed work done at two properties; nonfunctional outlets fixed at one, and the motion light at the other. Prices were outrageous! Tech used the outlet tester to determine that the outlets weren't working correctly, but then tried to sell me on an $1100 "circuit restoration" before even seeing if it would only take a quick fix. I said no thanks to that and the $239 "circuit diagnosis". I already had the $77 for $200 of work deal, so I had him just install the motion light - still a $239 charge, plus a $49 trip charge, for only about 1/2 hour of actual work! I had to pay the $88 difference, so I ended up paying $155 for 1/2 hour work even with the coupon; hardly a good deal. Those nonfunctional outlets turned out to be completely fixable by me, incidentally; the GFCI outlet itself was simply defective, and replacing it fixed the issue. To their credit, communication was clear and timely, and the tech was courteous and professional. I blame company pricing policy, not the individual electrician for my sub-par experience. If you put a (very) high premium on good front office communications or working with a faith-based company, then go ahead and call these guys. But if you're budget conscious, stay far, far away. Their upfront pricing and aggressive up-sale tactics mean you could end up paying far more than you needed to.

It went pretty well; however, they didn't warn me about the number of holes they would make in my ceiling to run the electricity. I ended up with at least five 4" in diameter holes in the ceiling. Now i have to hire a contractor to repair and retexture the ceiling. There is no way to patch it.

The call went very well. Dale called 1/2 hour before arriving, as advised, and arrived on time. The original plan had been to install a ceiling fan, which was done, and after discussions, he was able to fix two other problems during the visit. Dale was professional, friendly, and efficient. The cost was reasonable, and the work was done right. I was pleased with the result, and would recommend them without reservation. I will definitely contact them for any future electrical work. My dog liked Dale, too.

Overall - REALLY well. The technician was friendly, and explained what he was doing and why... He was also very sensitive about keeping the areas as clean as they were before he arrived. The only odd part was when he ended the service call with a statement of his, or the company's faith (I wasn't entirely sure if it was a personal or company statement) and left me a religious pamphlet. While the technician wasn't pushy about it, I knocked the grade on professionalism down from an A to a B, because bringing up your personal faith in my private home is not very professional.

I purchased a Big Deal, which provided $200 of service for $77. Randy's electrician rewired a switch for my dishwasher. Did a fine job. Since it didn't take long he even asked if there was any other small electrical job I needed done. There wasn't, but I appreciated his honesty and integrity in wanting me to get a good deal. Randy's scheduler knew I was coming up to the sales closing, so she jumped through hoops and managed to get someone within my tight timeframe. Wonderful people.
