I was very pleased with Randy's Electric, from the initial visit by the estimater through the actual service work. I had initially purchased a coupon for Randy's Electric to do a new panel and surge protection. However I was sure I would need a bit more work due to the age of my home. When Ryan the estimater came out, he walked me through the whole thing. Explained what I had, what I needed and even why I needed it. He did not hesitate to answer my questions. The day of service Scott showed up to do the work. He showed up at 8am and was here til 6pm doing all the work. He was very professtional. Again, Scott did not seemed bothered by my questions, and quickly explained them to me. He also showed me the new panel and explained the difference from my old one. I was very pleased as I knew my old one had some aluminum which I've heard can be a problem. When Scott was all done, he came and asked to show me the work. He also asked if he had cleaned up satisfactory to me, which he certainly had.. He not only did nice work, but the work area was left nice and clean. A few days later I thought of a couple questions, so I called Ryan. When we kept missing phone calls, he actually came back out to my house and answered them. He also took a look at the work and made sure I was happy. I've been asked if the price was fair, I believe so, as it was great work. I've learned that sometimes cheaper isn't better. I will pay for quality service and feel that's what I got. I would do work with them again, as they were not only professional, but approachable.
Description of Work: Installed a new electric panel, surge protector, bypass meter socket, new coppor service conducters, GFI switch for washer, and new dryer hook up. Also replaced the outside mast and new copper grounding wires. The cost also included the electric permit.

Randy's Electric was a breath of fresh air. While my experience with them did have a hiccup, they were completely transparent and communicated incredibly well. I had an appointment scheduled for a 11-1pm window, but due to some delays and previous projects appointments in the day for the electrician assigned to my service call Randy's was unable to meet my original window. They were able to give me a heads up of the potential delay earlier in the morning, and then as the day progressed on were able to offer alternative days/times in case I someone wasn't able to come out (they even offered to refund the Big Deal I had purchased). I completely understand delays, unexpected events as long as the provider communicates them appropriately. Randy's did exactly this and in the end was still able to send someone out later in the afternoon. The electrician was incredibly knowledgable, friendly and was able to give me a detailed estimate of the projects I was looking to get done before starting. Finished product was exactly as described (bid) and the electrician locked up on his way out (I had to run out to an appointment). I'm definitely hanging onto their number for any future electrical needs!
Description of Work: Adding grounded outlets to a bedroom, did some basic inspection/bidding of other projects.

I bought the $77 Angies list special for "$200 worth" of electrician services. Technician was on time, friendly and competent. However I had hoped he could do two small projects, install a ground wire on a gas line and install a 110 volt electric outlet. He completed grounding project which took about 10 minutes, using maybe $10 in parts. He said that the outlet would cost another $239, which I declined. So I did get value for my $77 and can't complain about that. The real problem I had was listening to a sales pitch for a variety of projects, replacing smoke detectors, installing whole house surge protection....That took much more time than the actual electric work. Before leaving, he also told me that Randy's was a Christian based company and he handed me some literature. Not too pushy, but still kind of offensive. I want people to provide a service, not to promote their religious beliefs. Won't use them again.

Joe was punctual and professional. He explained to me, up front, the cost of the ceiling fan installations and the need for a box to make sure they didn't fall down at some point. He also explained the need for a new wall switch for one the the fans. He noticed that my hard wired smoke detector was old and had turned yellow; he recommended that it be replaced. Joe was thorough, the fans work perfectly (no wobble), and he cleaned up after himself. He was also personable. I will use Randy's, again:)
Description of Work: Joe installed a motion sensor light (Angie's Big Deal - that was above the 754 dollars for the other work) and two ceiling fans. The ceiling fans both need boxes and one needed a new switch. He also installed a new smoke detector - hard wired.

He came out two months after I purchased the "Big Deal" and the service was great. I get comfortable in working with him and there is no barring on it. I did pay him extra for additional service that he provided me. There was just a discount off of what service they're gonna do for me. So, they deducted $200 off of whatever charges they were gonna give because when you buy it there is no services that they're gonna do that's specified. It's the first time that I used this company and they were good. They're not he cheapest guys in town but he knew what he was doing. He did a great job and I'm satisfied with what he did.

It was fine. Everything was great. He did a really good job, was very pleasant and fixed everything. It was all good. He came right after I called him. The deal was for an hour but I needed more work done so it cost me more than the big deal that I purchased. I would have him come back again as I have more things to be done. I first thought that I had to pay only the big deal but he had a list where I knew what I had to pay exactly.
Description of Work: I had a furnace that wasn’t properly wired in the basement and Randy's Electric put a new outlet into that. There was also another outlet in the basement that he fixed.

They did a great job!! They replaced the fan quickly and then were able to install a new fan right away. They were great to talk with about anyconcerns that we may have about our electrical supply and set-up. I was glad to hear that we seemed to have everything in place, with only a few changes going forward.
Description of Work: Replaced a fan and light outside on our screened porch. Also, installed a new fan in a bedroom. Replaced two dimmer switches in the basement that were not working correctly and gave us tips on the type of light bulbs to use downstairs rathe than replace them every couple of months.

They were pretty good. There was a small labor charge other than the big deal price we paid. They were very nice and friendly. They also looked at a switch downstairs to give a quote on and also some other stuff that we wanted done. If any questions that my husband had, they answered them. So they were just very nice and friendly.

I tried to get Randy's to work on a rental unitl I need some quick service on and they were booked out 2 weeks so I found someone else to do the work two days after I called. They said they would call me back the next day to let me know what they could do and did not get a call back for two day and by then I booked someone else. Still having the BIG DEAL I called them to look at a circuit that I have in my yard that i did not have power on for the 5 years I lived again they were so busy that I had to wait around 2 weeks for service. Upon making the appointment I was informed that jsut for them to come out would cost $49. Once they got on site I was informed that to check the circuit it would cost $237 since I had the BIG DEAL paid for already I agreed that they could check out the lines and verify the circuit. Basically after the checked all the outlets in my yard and tracing most of the wires I was told the circuit would need to be replaced if I wanted to use it. This circuit is attached to my detached garage which I have had no issues with power in the 6 years I have owned the house but a couple weeks after Randy's was out I wnet back into the garage ( I do not use this ofen) and I no longer had power to my garage. I called Randy's and they were able to send someone else out and again they were booked more than 2 weeks out. They sent out a different person that the first person that came up so the trouble shoting had to start over and they assured me it was othing they had done the first visit. They were able to identify a switch in the gargare this time that isolated the power from the outlets in the yard and they were able to reset the power. They left me a bill for $288 for this visit too. I was able to talk with Randy and work out a more reasonable payment in the end. Both time they had people out it took about an hour for them to track things down. That said I contract electricians at work and pay $85 per hour for the highest qualified elecrical the state will certify "Master Electrican". You can decied on price with but my my mind I got 2 hours of work and paid for over 3 hours.

We used the Angies List big deal to get the electrical panel deal, and had Randy's Electric do some additional work to bring our connection to the house into code compliance, Our house is over 100 years old and the electrical panel was old when we bought the house years ago; we knew work was needed, and now it has been done beautifully. We had an estimate performed before we scheduled the work, and this revealed a few things that were needed to bring our electrical system up to date. It was a little bit expensive, but we've learned the hard way that trying to be cheap can end up being very costly. Scott, our technician, was great - first thing, he checked the work order with us and did a walk through of everything he was to do, which made us comfortable that he knew what he was doing. This was a big job, which he finished that day, and the result is excellent - our electrical panel is now clearly labeled so we can easily shut off a circuit as needed. Everything he did works and looks great and tidy. We will use this company again.

I was having a problem with my outside overhead porch light. I didn't realize it was on a day/night switch. So all I needed to do was flick it. I didn't know that. He did fix a couple of hall lights. They weren't working. He also fixed my closet light. He replaced a pull chain. I ended up paying $384. I thought that was quite strange. I was not happy with that. I would've expected a lot more for that much money. I'm not against people being religious but there was a little proselytizing going on. He was asking me about my spiritual life. That's really none of his business. He's there to do the electrical work. He fixed some of the things but I think it was way expensive for what he did. I can't argue with quality of my pull chain. He did do a good job. My hall lights work so that's a good thing. He did point out some other things that could be repaired in the future but it won't be with this company. He was on time. He was there when he said he would be there. I wasn't prepared to pay that much so I paid him part. I'll be sending the last of the balance this week. Once that's done, I'm done.

He arrived right on time. I explained where I wanted the new outlet and we discussed options for where to run the wire. He gave me a price, I approved, he did the work. He was fast and the work quality was excellent. He told me he noticed that the smoke detector in the basement was not up to current code. After my approval, he replaced that smoke detector and installed smoke detectors in the bedrooms, so the house is now up to code.

Purchased the $1,063 Panel Swap-Out Angie's List Deal ($2,000 value). I talked to a co-worker that said they paid $2,000 for a panel swap-out, so seemed correct. Joe & Joel were prompt & on time. They did a quick look & realized my outside meter was out of code and it needed 2 ground rods. So for $728 for the new meter & $259 to install the ground rods. Joe & Joel did an EXCELLENT job. they even had to drill through my hard old stucco for the new box. I told them, don't worry about cracking the stucco, it's on the side of the house you don't see & I can repair it. Well there did a meticulous job. And were able to put it over where the old one was. Of course that required to also cut the incoming pipe & put in a new elbow (maybe not the correct terms). They even connected a Microwave outlet circuit I had installed but never hooked up since the old panel didn't have any room & fixed a short in the outlet box due to a bar wire. So my kitchen lights no longer dim when I run the microwave. They spit up the circuits (since the old box was small, had doubled up on some breakers). They also labeled all the breakers so I now know which is which. They asked if anything else, but no hard sell. They also cleaned up, you would not know I had this work done since all was cleaned up. They are a faith based company, but no hard push on that, just a nice simple "Ask me about my faith" card left with the bill. I will definitely call Randy's Electric for my next electrical projects. Also have referred my family to them.

Todd and his team did a wonderful job. They were efficient and completed the job in 2 days as he was able to add additional resources from his outside team due to rain. They moved the furniture, taped and covered all floors and furniture. They spraypainted the ceilings (they look great!) and painted all of the walls. There was one employee on his team on the second day who I overheard swearing and had a poor attitude. Thankfully, he left early and I when I told this to Todd and the project lead, they were most apologetic and assured me he would be dealt with. Overall his team did a great job and I would definitely use them again.

I purchased a coupon for diagnosis of one electrical problem. I had no power in my family room and I could not get the breaker to reset. Two men came on time, and easily diagnosed the defective circuit breaker and replaced it. My air conditioner was also not working so they tested to see if it was getting power. It was, but because it was still under warranty, I chose to have the original installer repair the unit. I was very satisfied with the quick repair of the circuit, and I will call them again to install a couple of light fixtures and check on a GFI circuit in my kitchen.
