Dale and Gabriel arrived about 8am (and even called to say they were on their way) and were at my house pretty much the whole day (till 4pm ish if I remember right) as this was a big task. Our house, built in 1960, was still rockin' old school fuses, and I wanted to upgrade that to modern circuit breakers. I figured it would be an investment in the future, better resale value, that sorta' thing. They quickly assessed the situation and gave me the quote, then began work with my ok. They gave me options and were quite willing to do any work I asked for in regards to upgrades to the task at hand. (New meter, additional wattage, etc.) However, they explained what wasn't needed in my case and saved me money. No high pressure sales, just a willingness do perform the task at hand and answer my questions about it. They both were good guys, easy to talk to and professional. Roughly 8 hours later after the circuit breaker box was iinstalled and wired, they fired up the power and marked on the box what each circuit went to in regards to rooms, and appliances, etc. After that was done, I asked them to check my garage and explained a couple things I wanted to have done, with no expectations of doing anything today, and they answered my questions and steered me in the right direction on garage lighting. I had a ballpark in my mind of how much something like this would cost, not really any basis for my ballpark figure, just kind of a guess, and they were on the low end of that, so I was satisfied. (And when I mentioned it to someone at work, they thought it was a good price as well.) Basically, service performed, price, customer service/professionalism, all score an A+ in my book. I mentioned near the end I would likely have some other work in the future (as there is always something to be done in a home) and I wouldn't call anyone else. I am extremely satisfied with Dale and Gabriel and Randy's Electric.

We have had Randy's come out twice for two Angie's Big Deals that we purchased from them. This particular Deal was $79 for $200 worth of work, and after that, our end cost was an additional $92.75. Both times we used them, they were prompt, efficient, clean and friendly.
Description of Work: Mounted two outlets and strap, installed thermostat for 24v toe heater (we supplied).

They showed up on time and did a great job. Brent was the electrician who did the work, and he had alot of experience and was very knowledgeable. I had several follow-up questions about what bulbs to use with the dimmers etc, and he answered them all. I would recommend them.

The outlets was an easy fix. They were both wired to a bathroom outlet that had tripped. The ceiling fan needed a box installed, and the remote that went with our dimmer switch barely fit in the fan, but he was able to squeeze it in so we could still use our dimmer, which was really nice.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. We were happy with the electrician. It worked out just fine. He did a great job. I spent more than the $77 deal. He was very personable. He was neat, he cleaned everything up. It was kind of a difficult installation so he put a lot of thought into the best way to do that.

Both times I have used Randy's service, I have ended up doing the job myself. This isn't a complaint, I appreciate it. In the first job, the costs of what I wanted was going to be much higher than I expected. I was given advice and resources and I was able to complete the job myself at a later time. This second job, I didn't have the parts I needed to complete the installation of the overhead fan blades (simple and my fault for buying a fan that had been opened at the store) and my technician got everthing in order, completed what he could and helped me out with how to complete the job. This is service I can appreciate.

Sean came over and we talked about different things that I would like to have done. Then we narrowed down the list to just a few things and I decided from there as to what I wanted done the most. One of my circuit breakers would always trip as it was too loaded with various outlets and things. So Sean took the dishwasher off that circuit breaker and gave it its own home and it hasn't given me a problem since. He was neat about his work and very professional, courteous and friendly. He explained everything that he did in advance and went through it all again when he was done. I would not hesitate to send anyone to Randy's Electric.
Description of Work: Sean separated my dishwasher from a circuit breaker as it would always trip the breaker unless no other items were using power. Right now it is absolutely perfect!

He arrived on time and once he understood the job he began. The scheduler told us that there was a $49 fee for driving out (fine) and that the electrician would then give us a price for the job based on the time needed. He told us that they categorized jobs by what was involved and quoted us $120 for changing the bulbs. (Note- We provided the bulbs, so this is all for the labor cost). He was in our home for less than 10 minutes. I understand them making money~ but even with drive time included $170 for this job was crazy! I liked the idea of working with a larger company so that hopefully I could build a long relationship with a reliable, professional company who sends workers I can trust. I was only thinking about trusting them fro ma saf

There were some scheduling glitches and I was beginning to be very displeased. I had accommodated Randy's by allowing them to reschedule and then I had to call them when no one arrived. I was told there had been a truck breakdown and they promised to put me next on the schedule. Joe arrived and changed my attitude completely. He was professional. He went above and beyond by adding insulation on my request. I was very pleased with his work and his professionalism. I do think Randy's is more expensive than other electricians I have used. However, Joe made me feel that what he did was excellent quality. I had purchased $200 of electrical work for $77 and I paid an additional $275. That means that the total was $475 to install two lights. My only concern with them is price.

The service from Randy's Electric was not very well, it was actually really expensive. We got quoted like $500.00 to change out six smoke alarms and then after a while he was down, how about 400, I don't know. I guess we had expected an hourly rate and that would be reasonable. My wife purchased the deal and I think it was $200 worth of electrical work for about $69, so what we really got them for was to put in a light in one of my kids room and wire it to the switch, and you know, we thought that's maybe one hour of work and should be no problem to do in $200 worth of electrical work, no but the price for it was $400 something, to put in the light. We ended up having them do that since we had purchased the thing and so we ended up having to pay about another $200 so we didn't feel very good about the whole thing. There wasn't any problem like unprofessionalism or anything but it just seemed that we had a line in regards to the pricing. Quality, I guess no complaints there, actually let me change that, he like turned off like 4 breakers which knocked out off my home office and stuff which would have been OK if he had said something before like, well, I am not sure which breaker it is I am going to turn a bunch of them, so. I would not use this service provider again in the future.

They came to install a ceiling fan which I bought at Menards along with a remote. When they got there IThey said it would be another 54.00 service call and 42.00 to install the switch to the switchplate on the wall. I didn't think the pricing was right for that. They also wanted to install a CO2 detector along with new fire alarms. Needless to say they were not necessary.
