My experience with them was fine. I spent more than the Big Deal coupon. They were professional and courteous. Their price was average or a little above average.

I was very pleased with Randy's Electric. JOE was very pleasant and professional. He called when he was about a half an hour away to let me know when he would be here and he was on time. We then went throughout the house to discuss what work I wanted done. He wrote up estimates of each job and then I chose what to have done that day. JOE got right to work and got things done in a timely matter. Everything looks good and he cleaned up any mess after he was done. I want to add that I run a daycare in my home and it was naptime when he arrived, JOE was very careful not to wake them. However, I expected that they may wake just because there would be noise. When the children woke up, they all had to say hi to Joe and talk to him. Joe even left me with some pictures for the children to color! I am very happy with the company and Joe and would welcome them back to do more of the work that I need done. I recommend Randy's Electric to anyone who needs electrical work done.
Description of Work: JOE came into my home and we went through each room that I wanted electrical work done in. He worked up estimates for each job and then I selected what I wanted done first. JOE then proceeded to do the things I decided on which was an additional GFI outlet in the kitchen as well as an outlet for a garbage disposal. Both jobs required JOE to fish a line through the walls to get the electricity to the location. I will add that my home was built in 1961 so pretty much finished throughout making it tougher to work on.

Scheduled two ceiling fan installs for 4/30. Received a call an hour into the window of time that electrician was to arrive instructing me that no one would be showing up. Apparently they were not going to be making it out from their previous job scheduled. Offered to have an update to me in an hour to see if any thing would change where they could get my install done... They never called back. Not what I wanted to see happen after taking the afternoon off to be home for the install. They did not offer to make any effort to try and accommodate my schedule or offer to come on a weekend morning to make up for the inconvenience. Will not be reaching out to Randy's Electric for any future jobs.

a lighting design for our kitchen. We purchased a $99 deal for $200 worth of electrical work. We e-mailed Randy's Electric and got a call from them the very next day,.at which time we scheduled an electrician for the following day at 8:00 a.m. Dale, from Randy's Electric, called before he arrived promptly at 8:00 a.m. He made some great suggestions for a iighting design specifically for our kitchen, which we really liked; gave us a same-day price, which we found reasonable, especially considering the labor involved; and did the electric work for 7 canned lights and two pendants. He was very informative; kept us abreast of what he was doing at all time; and when the work was completed, he cleaned everything up. We were very impressed with Dale's professionalism and electrical knowledge. He was very friendly and was a positive representative of his company. We would, without hesitation, hire Randy's Electric again and ask for Dale.

I bought 2 Angie's List Big Deals for them. One of which I haven't used yet, and the other one I have used last year. They were great! I haven't gotten them back for this year before it expires but I will be, I just had been busy. They seemed to know what they were doing and they got the job taken care of, and it's worth every cent. The price was very good especially with the deal that I had.

It was fine. They were very responsive, so when we scheduled it, they came and there wasn’t any lag time that way. They might have charged us more but that was only because we asked them to do extra things and we were totally fine with the extra cost. We have really bad wiring in our house, we thought we might have to change the indoor light too but we weren’t so sure because the lights were connected to each other. They were professional. They tried to keep things clean.

I am afraid of heights, and I don't have a ldder tall enough to do the work anyways, so all I needed was someone to come out wih a tall ladder and replace an old hard-wired smoke detector. It was chirping, but felt a replacement was in order due to the age of the house. Randy's was swift to answer the phone and could fit us in that day. When the technician showed up, he wrote an estimate for the entire house, to replace old units and install new ones in locations where they didn't already exist. Grand total: $750. I said no thanks, lets just replace the unit in question. He also became combative when I mentioned there is an adapter available to work between the old wiing harness and the new one. This service amounted to $175 for literally 5 minutes of work. On top of it all, I never did get the Angie's List coupon of $25 for this service call. As the technician was completing the invoice, he reminded me that Randy's is a Christian organization. Um, no, Randy's Electric is a corporation with no religious identity - save your preaching for the next person. Nope, wI will never use this company again.

We had 3 light fixers installed (foyer chandelier, kitchen island light, and a light on the exterior of the garage) as well as dimmer switches and a motion activated switch for the garage. The electrician was very thorough and gave us costs before proceeding with installation. He placed mats and blankets to protect everything around the work area and was very conscientious about the children who we tried to wrangle while he worked. Really couldn't be happier with the job. It was a tad pricer than I would have expected, but I would pay that again for that kind of professionalism and quality.

Initial contact went well. Explained the services I needed. I specified that the person they send should come prepared with tools and expertise necessary to cut through slate. It went well. They don't usually work on garage door openers, but it turned out my issue was loose wires so he was able to fix it. He even fixed the light, which hasn't worked for years. He had some extra time, so he swapped out a couple of outlets for grounded ones. It is so convenient to have a working garage door opener and three-prong outlets. I am pleased.

Overall, it went poorly. From the start, the communication with the office was not very customer friendly. One of the sentences in the first email I received through Angie's List read, "Without your phone number, we unfortunately, can not keep the appointment." It was the first time I heard from them, and to me, it sounded very abrupt. After they confirmed the date and time, they got it mixed up and called me twice the day before, thinking they had missed the appointment. Jeremy, the electrician who finally came, was very kind and apologetic. It wasn't his fault, but I told him that I wasn't going to pay an additional $49 for his trip and that the money could come out of the refund for this Big Deal, which I am not able to take advantage of. In the future, please encourage your Big Deal providers to include all anticipated costs in the amount of the Big Deal rather than parsing out the extra costs in the fine print of the deal. As I noted above, I believe it is misleading of this provider to tack a $49 trip charge onto this deal. That should be included in the deal up front. So they should have charged $139 for this deal, and again, if they had done so, I would not have signed up for it.

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept our apologies for the unfriendly communication. Our goal is to communicate with excellence and often that is best done via phone. The written form of communication can prove to be difficult. We are so very sorry that your experience was nothing short of great.

I called to get questions answered about the Angie's List deal, and was called back in about an hour. I was able to set an appointment for two days later to 1) check out a fixture in the basement that was giving us trouble, and 2) check out the wiring for an outside light fixture that was attached to garage. The do not give any pricing information over the phone. I was told the tech would call about 20 minutes prior to arriving, but did not receive a call. He was right on time though. After walking through the house to determine the problem areas, the tech quickly realized that it was burned out bulb in the basement (we thought it was something more major due to the light switch sticking). There was a $57.00 charge to diagnose the issue, which is my "stupidity fee" I guess. Outside, the tech indicated that the light fixture itself was the issue, and not the wiring. He told me the cost to replace the light fixture would be $284, and that replacing it would be much more complicated than a standard interior fixture. We have three total, so to make it look cohesive he suggested we do all three. He indicated the fixture (which was LED) ran about $150 each, so I'd be paying $134 for labor per piece, $852 total. Unfortunately he didn't have photos of what fixture he wanted to use (and wasn't able to pull it up online). So it was a bit of shot in the dark. I ultimately agreed, and he left and returned shortly thereafter with the three fixtures. He returned and installed the 3 fixtures in about an hour (I was surprised at how quickly this went, given how complicated he indicated the installation would be for an outside fixture). The fixture themselves are fine, and run $56.00 at the home depot a piece, plus $20 each for the LED bulb. He charged me $25 less than the original estimate for each fixture, but at $259 a piece he ended up getting $549.00 for his labor alone to install them. Throw in the $57 stupidity fee, plus the fact that I paid $99 for the $200 voucher, and all in the project totaled $933 and would have been $1083 if I didn't have the voucher (which waived the $49 service fee and provided a $101 discount). I feel that the pricing was excessive as the fixture that was received cost signficantly less than the fixture that I was told I would be getting (and much less than the $25 discount accounted for) and also because the job was completed so quickly. I also think they could have waived the $57 stupidity fee in light of making a small fortune off the other portion of the job. In the future, I would purchase the fixtures myself and shop around a bit to see what the fees should be for installation. Finally, the pitch for their faith at the end was not appreciated in the least, and made me uncomfortable. I won't be using them again, "Big Deal" or not.

They were average at best. they did the job but we felt like their prices were inflated and we got rid of the other quotes that we had. We ended up spending more than 69 dollars of the promotion. If we went with another firm, even without the deal we would have used the same price. A lot of their services were a waste of a big deal. We were upfront in telling them what to be done, we expected them to communicate and tell us before charging us. It was an open roof and there was no tearing down of walls or patching. The quality is expected given that it was straight forward for a licensed electrician. They did a fine job. Their pricing was not competitive.
