The tech Brent that came out was very nice and very good. I was quite confident in his work. He had a helper on 2 of the 3 days he worked in my home. The job did not seem to take very long and they charged a lot for circuit restoration. There was some confusion on the service schedule dates and I had to scramble to get things in order so they can do the work. The tech Brent was very trust worthy and he completed the job quickly. The switch went bad on my circuit breaker and I informed the company. They sent the tech back out to my home to fix the switch, which was not their fault, and he was able to fix it. They were a very expensive company to use their services. They were good at their work, but price was a little high.
Description of Work: Restored outlets in my home. They did the disposal up to code, they also replaced lights and a fan as well in my home

One person came to do the work and it took awhile, about 3 hours, because it took him sometime with the upstairs outlet it was tricky. He left the area clean but he did break a tile he tried to fix it but i still need to repair this. He was very pleasant and he worked very hard.
Description of Work: He installed a light in the downstairs shower. He installed an electrical outlet in the upstairs bathroom.

Was able to get my recessed lighting working again after digging around in the switches for awhile. Also swapped out a light switch for a LED dimmer switch. All was good, momentarily. The bank of 4 recessed lights stopped working again in less than 2 months after the repair. I called to see if their work was guaranteed or if they would waive the trip fee. Was told the lights were working when they left the premises and it could be an unrelated problem. They didn't want to waive any fees, just requested that i schedule another appointment. I wasn't thrilled with this response, so contacted another service provider to attempt a repair. They verified the problem isn't at the switch this time. Will most likely need a contractor to come and open up the ceiling to redo my old wiring. Still unsure if the new problem is related to the first repair or not.
Description of Work: Purchased a Big Deal for $100 for $200 worth of services (plus parts). Main job was to troubleshoot bank of recessed lighting that stopped working. Also had LED dimmer switch installed.

We ended up dissatisfied, and we are reporting now (a few months later) because we are going to have to replace the new light they installed. We chose Randy's because we thought we were getting a deal. We now believe we would have gotten a better price if we had paid by the hour and the cost of parts. Their pricing plan is very confusing, and we weren't happy about it. Our primary concern is that the new light they installed turned out to be inferior and is already not working. As far as workmanship and professionalism, the electrician was fine. He knew what he was doing. We will probably be going to Angie's again now to find someone to install a new light for us. We will look for a straightforward pricing plan. We have found several other people through Angie's (plumber, carpet cleaner, furniture restorer, computer repair, car repair), and this is the first time we have been unhappy.

Randy's Electric responded within 15 minutes of a voicemail I left at 6:45 a.m. on a Sunday morning. A tree had fallen on our electrical line tearing the mast and box off the side of the house. Less than an hour and a half after speaking with the company, Scott arrived at our doorstep. He was cheerful, professional, and explained all necessary repairs. He was very thorough, and double-checked the interior and exterior for any potential issues. He also assisted us with getting the electric company to turn the power back on. Even though the repair was a bit pricey, it was done well and quickly...on a Sunday morning!! We will definitely call Randy's Electric for any future work we need performed.

I was thrilled with their service. The technician really worked with me and did a great job. He had to dig and move around a brick pathway to make space for the grounding rode. He was very thorough and professional. They covered everything I had asked for and they made suggestions as needed for me.

Randy was the second call we made looking for an electrician to fix our outdoor electrical outlet - we have a motorized awning and it wasn't working. I had made an appt with the first call but cancelled it when it looked like Randy could come quicker. It turned out he came out later that day. His work was professional and his fix was better than we had envisioned! We now have a functional, working, outdoor outlet with a cover! Would recommend and will be using in the future!

Brent was great, it was the second time he had been out to my house and was very up front about what needed to be done, and some issues I didn't even know were issues. He put in the grounding rods, connected them to whatever was needed and then their office got an inspection set up and worked to get the power company to finish some outside work. It was quick, and he called to let me know he would be in the yard. The power company came a few weeks later to finish the hook-up. They were a pleasure to deal with and if I ever need an electrician again they will be the first ones I call!

Let me start by saying the technician was great! Very nice & professional. I am just not sure I fully understand the Angies list Coupon. 1. Technician was here for roughly 40 minutes- that includes the time that he rewired a chandelier and did and estimate to put a panel in my house. 2. I paid $89 for 2 hours of service- I was told there was $49 trip charge but that would be absorbed into the cost of if didn?t use 2 hours? worth of service. 3. I still paid an Additional $88 out of pocket. So in total I paid $177 for 40 minutes ½ of which was walking around doing an estimate (generally those are free) So by my calculation, it was roughly almost $5 a minute or ? $300 and hour. Also- I did email Randy's on 3/30 questioning the charges and NEVER heard a thing back.

This was my second time using Randy's Electric, and once again, they did not disappoint. The office staff responds quickly to scheduling requests and they are so nice! Great customer service right off the bat. On the day of the appointment, David called in advance to let me know he was on his way. He arrived on time, and we went through the list of what I wanted him to do, which was actually longer than the list I provided upon scheduling. If he was concerned about how long it would take and whether he would be late for his next appointment, he didn't show it. While we were going through the list, Home Depot showed up to deliver an appliance that would have required 220V, and David was quickly able to tell me that it wasn't possible to upgrade to 220V without installing a new box (expensive), when the point of ordering the particular appliance was to save money. So back to the warehouse it went. David was very courteous and helpful throughout, going so far as to make a recommendation on what to consider when replacing the broken parts on my two storm doors, all in the spirit of "being a blessing to our customers." I really like Randy's "no surprise pricing." You get a quote up front from the electrician based upon what you want completed, and that's what you pay, regardless of how long it takes. When you know what the cost is, you can make appropriate choices about whether to go ahead with a project or postpone. As a single woman, I sometimes wonder whether I am being taken advantage of on various things, but never with Randy's Electric. Given the 5 things David did for $559, Randy's was very cost effective. I did have an Angie's List Big Deal coupon valued at $200. The work I had done would have cost $759 without the coupon. I highly recommend hiring Randy's Electric!
Description of Work: David moved a light fixture to a new location and installed a second fixture in it's place. He also replaced a switch in the same room. In addition, he installed a receptacle in the garage so that the garage door opener could be plugged in directly (vs, using an extension cord) to bring it up to code, and also installed a bis and floodlight on the exterior of the garage.

I felt the service to change out the smoke alarms was overpriced and I should not have had the service performed at this time. Maybe I'm not up on the cost of electrical service but it seemed quite high to me. The $650 plus the $200 coupon that I purchased added up to well over $800 worth of work.
Description of Work: Changed a light fixture and an overhead fan. But then I was informed that all my smoke alarms were not up to code and the visit ended up costing me well over $650.

Description of Work: They installed a ceiling fan. That turned out to be a problem because that Big Deal that I purchased through you, that wasn’t included, I don’t know, a traveling service fee or something. I just paid it like a cheque of $100 and something on top. It was an unexpected charge.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I would say that their service was like a 5. I thought that they were fairly expensive. They were more expensive than average and then the people were so-so. It was not anything grand. They had to come back out once but it was okay. It probably does not match the criteria that I was looking for and it was quite a bit more expensive. Because the price that they asked for, they probably should have priced it before but once you have a coupon, you are kind of stuck with it. I would never do it again actually. The cost of the service ended up being on a scale around $600 or $700 and they came out to do the work probably within a month after I purchased the deal. Their price was bad. I would never use them again in the future.
