Initial issue with contact back to me - very apologetic. Thereafter, two personable, professional men came on the appointed day and time. We reviewed the issue. The problem was resolved immediately. I knew that I had a small problem to fix and it would be difficult to get anyone out for it - to the credit of Randy's Electric, they made certain I got the best "bang" for the dollar. Also rec'd a coupon a coupon from them to apply against future business. I was very pleased overall and I am happy to recommend them to anyone.

Very professional - would highly recommend Randy's. Additionally, the customer service was by far one of the best from both the front office (i.e. phone staff) to the electrician and apprentice that did the work at our home.

The guy came out, looked at the socket, looked at the light, and quoted a price of 500 bucks. I was at work at the time, so my partner showed me the quote when I got home. There was no information to explain why it would cost that much, nor any information about how much one project or the other would cost. It was literally a piece of paper with the two projects listed and then a price of "$498". He hadn't given any information about the reason for the pricing when he was there either. My partner also told me the guy said that he would guess that my house was built in the 50s. Since my house was built in 1890, this didn't inspire confidence. We decided not to get the service done.
Description of Work: provided a quote for fixing an outlet that only worked part of the time and a light in the shower where the bulbs always burnt out after a couple of days.

He replaced it with a new state-of-the-art type one. I like it very much. The whole experience was much more expensive than I thought it was going to be with the deal. I thought it was pretty expensive really for what it was. He was fine. He was friendly. They were efficient. He had a training guy with him. The training guy was fine. The worked they did turned out fine. Everything is fine.

We called Randy's Electric on 4/1/2015. The woman who answered the phone was very friendly and professional. After explaining what we needed done, she stated that she thought she could arrange for someone to come out the same morning. She stated the electrician would call when he was on his way. Joe arrived within a few hours. He assessed the situation with our outside light. He looked at our circuit box and also noted that we had exposed wiring on an overhead light. He repaired the junction box. We had an exhaust fan which was not running correctly, and he told us how to fix it. He wrote up an estimate reflecting the exact cost before the work was begun Joe was professional and I have the utmost confidence in the work that he performed. We would definitely use Randy's Electric in the future for our electrical needs and would recommend them to others.

The service turned out great. I had purchased a big deal and I used it within a week or two. I had enough work done, so I paid additional money. I would highly recommend them, they did a great job, they were very efficient, and the guys who came were very nice guys, very professional, great with my dogs and very nice to deal with.
Description of Work: They replaced a dining room light fixture with a new one. They replaced a bathroom light fixture that I had a new one, they did a little repair work on the switch in the bathroom, they installed a new dimmer switch in the dining room, they fixed an exterior outlet that wasn't working, and they replaced that.

It went fine. He gave options and pricing and then did what I asked him to do. I'm not sure of the cost that I listed above because it was quite some time ago. Cost was agreed-upon before the work was done. I believe that he had to install a new "box" behind one of the exterior lights that he replaced.

Jeremy arrived on time with a neat and professional manner. I did purchased an Angie's Deal $90 for a ceiling fan or vanity light, because I was not confident in moving a slim box over on top of a stud. The Deal was very smooth and fairly priced and I was extremely satisfied. Jeremy also furnished 3 Cree LED bulbs for the vanity light, bulbs I was going to select for myself at a value of $20.. Randy's waived their trip charge, I assume because I expressed that I needed other work done. I also needed a bath vent fan and a new GFCI receptacle. The bid was made and I thought it was too high but The Hubby convinced me to continue on and get it done. Jeremy would not install the Utilitech 80cfm 2 sone fan I had purchased, and called for a courier to bring a Panasonic 80 CFM .3 sone; the benefit is a lifetime warranty, of which I reluctantly agreed. He cut the ceiling hole and installed the fan in record time, and also the new wire to the double rocker switch I had provided with the GFCI on the side of the 2-gang box. He had also called (and bid) for an assistant, but there was none available. That being the case, I did assist pulling wires and removed tile myself. The GFCI receptacle, of course, needed a dedicated wire to the circuit panel, about 40 feet of wire in an unfinished easy access basement. This was done in 20 minutes. Jeremy was extremely focused on performing precision, quality work and I could see that he is an excellent electrician. Clean up was okay. I am not too picky, to save time. When the dust settled, and after I had paid, I saw what it was that I was uncomfortable with on the initial bid/ billing: $359 to install a 4inch insulated duct on the bath vent (which was $35 materials and 20 minutes of time) with 2 cable ties and tape to an already existing roof cap! I contacted Randy's Electric the next day and we discussed the day's events and Randy's Electric adjusted the price down $225. Overall the work looks beautiful, the work, I feel confident that it was done perfectly. The breakdown: GFCI on new circuit $744, Bath vent fan install with wire to switch $847 ( does not include duct or roof cap install ), Vanity light Angie's Deal $90 , Insulated duct $359 - $225 (negotiated price adjustment) = $134. With the price adjustment, the furnished light bulbs, and waived tip charge the Grand total was $1850, time 5 hours includes the bath fan and duct, and all wire. Quality work... A tad high priced, can't skimp on electrical work.

We had a coupon purchased on Angieslist for $200 worth of electrical service for $111, so we only paid an additional $157 on site. The communication from their office was good even if they scheduled us for the wrong date initially -- they fixed it after I e-mailed them. The electrician was prompt and very neat in his work. He wore bags on his shoes to not track in mud and he did a real good job of cleaning up any messes he had made. The work was done quickly and very neatly. He even added a second outlet on the opposite side of the wall in the basement sharing the same box -- more outlets is good! Overall, very satisfied and would use them again for similar services.
Description of Work: The electrician installed a new outlet box in our finished basement, and also upgraded a nasty outlet we had on our all seasons porch that wasn't very secure.

Joe,Joey,Charlie. All three of them worked together to get the work done.Joe & Joel came to our residence on 1-22 15 at 9:00 A.M. They both went to the basement to get started on the new Circuit breaker box.(main 100 A series) Joel started taking out the old fuse box. Joe started taking off the old meter to put up the new meter outside, new master weather head, update grounding water/ rods. As Joel the apprentice was working on the new circuit box, Joe would come in and check on Joel to make sure he was doing it right. Joel did a super job on the new box for just being an apprentice. I would give him a A for the job he did. Joe did an excellent job too. It took them about 8hrs. to compete the job. On 1-28-15 Joe& Charlie came to our residence at about 9:00 A.M. The two of them came to put in our bathroom exhaust fan. The two of them worked on installing the fan. They had to cut a whole in the bathroom wall, run a new electrical line down to the electrical box. Both guy's did a great job installing the new exhaust fan.It took them abut 3 or 4 hrs. to complete. Joe came on 2-24-15 to install our new whole home surge protector. My wife was at home when Joe put in the new surge protector She said it didn't take him more then an hour. P.S. The whole crew did excellent work.

The electrician I felt was overly critical of the original installation. Said the new fan could not be installed using support box - because it did NOT exist. This was said prior to actually verifying that indeed there was an appropriate support bar in the ceiling. Once he did realize that a good support bar existed, he did a fine job with some minor modifications, to install the fan. Over-all the job took much longer than it should have, because of the electrician not being familiar with the fan (MinkaAire) - and not following the written directions. At the end of the day, the installation is safe, sound, and secure, and I feel the extra charge was probably appropriate. I have had the same fan installed at another location, without any problems in 1/4 of the time.

The office did not let the workman know that this was an Angie List Deal which led to some confusion as to the price. The deal was $99 for $200 worth of services. We originally wanted the 4 way switch fixed and a new exhaust fan put in the master bathroom. The fan replacement was going to cost $1200 which was much more than we wanted to spend so we didn't have it done. The switch repair was priced at $96 dollars plus a $59 trip fee. The serviceman was going to charge us the $155 until we showed him our receipt of the Angie's List Deal. But just doing the switch would leave us short of the $200. The electrician asked if there was anything else that needed to be done. We had a missing electrical outlet on our deck. The replacement cost was just an additional $14 (with our credit) so we had it done. In the future, I think I would ask for estimates of the work we want done when we make the appointment so we wouldn't have the shock of something like the $1200 fan replacement. I would also make sure the workman was aware of the Angie's List Deal right at the start.

I originally bought the $99 for light fixture installation deal from Angie's list, and upon arriving the guy from Randy's saw that this was going to be more complicated than just installation (I needed a new box, there were some random cast iron pipes (maybe from old gas lights?). He was able to get everything figured out and managed to get both the box and the relay for the wireless switch installed in my ceiling (how exactly? Some sort of miracle I guess). Everything went smoothly, he was very polite, and I was definitely glad to pay the extra for the services after seeing the amount of work that went into not only hanging the fixture but doing it right so I don't have to worry about anything catching fire. I would definitely use Randy's electric again.
