I had called several contractors searching for bids on two very simple repairs needed in connection with selling a home. Most didn't want to quote a price over the phone, one told me ''somewhere between $150 and $300'', some had ''trip charges'' in addition to the cost of the repair itself. I spoke with John Kane of Kane Electric and found him to be refreshingly honest. He acknowledged the simplicity of the job, said it would take him about 15 minutes, and made no attempt to complicate the task as did some of the other contractors. Knowing I was selling the home and was under time constraints he agreed to come out on a Saturday. John called when he said he would, arrived when he said he would, did the work as quickly as he said he would, and charged exactly what he said he would. Should I need an electrician in the future I will certainly call him.
